Ivery's Pov

I rolled tiredly on the bed only to find myself staring at a figure of someone bracing me. My eyes were still heavy since I was just waking up and it made it hard for me to see the person so I just kept staring. I felt pressed and at the same time so weak to stand up. The pains around my body also didn't allow me to feel myself.

But seeing the person beside me didn't make me focus and understand what was going on until I shut my eyes closed again and had a flashback to the other day.

**Flashback**

"Your mom has been diagnosed with heart cancer for a long time now and we kept telling you to let her have the operation but you've refused to bring her back until now that the cancer had risen to another stage," the doctor attending to my mother illness, spoke to me out of concern and I sensed bitterness in her tone. She was surely expressing how fatal my mom's sickness had become.

I held my hands together to her table desk while I choke on tears. "I'm sorry, doctor. You should know that I didn't meant to leave her just like that. I have issues paying for the surgery," I told her with a husky voice.

"Don't tell me you haven't gathered anything for her payment. I mentioned that day that you start paying installmentally." Her facial expression was awkward and obvious that she feels irritated with my words.

"I'm sorry, doctor. I have no excuse. I just don't have any idea how to get the money. The only money I've gathered so far is for our upkeep. I've searched everywhere for a better job and still do extra to what I am doing yet, I still can't gather anything."

The doctor scoffed, "But you know now you need to gather that money unless you want to lose your mother. The medication given to her now will only keep her up until two weeks. You need to start preparing to either save her life or bury her," the doctor said with much remorse and a sharp pain stung my chest, hearing that my mother might die. My tears came dangling down. The doctor was right, I need to start acting fast if I don't want to lose her.

I was shattered. Where do I find a million dollars to pay for my mother's operation? Everything seemed too hard to take. I left the doctor's office in no time and started walking down the street thinking of what to do in order to find the fund but there was nothing I could do. I don't have anyone to look out to. My father was late and my friends aren't in any position to fund my account so where do I start from?

I got to the subway station and sat on the bench as I watched people going and coming, wishing anyone of them could just reach out to me and loan me the money I was looking for.

I didn't know I sat so long at the subway until I felt a drop of rain on my face. I looked up to see that the clouds were already dark and would soon start pouring. I sprang up immediately to find shelter but it was too late. The rain has started to pour heavily. It was a bad time for me because it was at that point my tears began to drop.

I cried my eyes out as I ran for shelter. I ran so long and didn't stop since the tears continued to drop too. It was until I found an open bar where everyone was rushing to before I stopped crying and rushed in with them.

"Here, have this." I heard someone behind me and I turned to see a waiter handing me a towel. I grabbed it immediately and thanked him for his kind gesture before I entered fully into the bar for warmth. I was already shivering.

It was evening already and the bar was already lit, filled with both people that came to enjoy themselves and those who ran from the rain. I decided to settle for a beer. Maybe it could ease my pain a little and help me bring ideas on how to get out of the situation I was in.

I took my seat at the counter and I was served as requested. Not too long, I found myself ordering for more. I drank and drank to stupor vibing to the music like others and soon forgot about my sorrows.

Hours later when the rain stopped, I decided to take my leave but as I stood up from the stool, I staggered heavily, finding out I had gotten drunk. It wasn't new though. Average Americans gets drunk so it was not a big deal. The people around just kept telling me to be careful as I took little steps to leave.

Just when I took my fifth steps, I staggered again but this time, I landed on someone who made curse words at me before helding me to start still. "Stop messing around pretty," the coarse male voice said to me and I smiled at how gentle and warm he sounded.

I raised my head to look at him and couldn't help but drool at him. His ocean blue eyes have a glitch of red in them and his handsome chiseled cheek has slight blush on them too. He looked drunk as well.

"I would love to mess with you, handsome. Care to join me for a drink?" I requested and removed my hands from his as I stood vibrant like I knew what I was doing.

"She looks pretty good to mess with, doesn't she?" He asked and some group of men sitting around him chuckled at his words.

"Boss, should I book a room?" One of the men asked him and I nodded my head in place of him earning more chuckles from the men. "Well… then… done!" The man exclaimed with excitement as he showed his phone screen to both me and the handsome man he referred to as boss.

"Gotcha!" Was the last word I heard from him before he stood up and carried me up in a bridal style. I laughed at the way he staggered away from the bar and took the stairs up to the room that was booked for us. Trust me, I had no idea all of this was happening.

**End Of Flashback**

I let out a gasp remembering how we had sex that night. I couldn't believe I gave myself so cheap to a stranger. It was absurd. Another set of tears streamed down my face again as I held my mouth in regret. What have I done?

"Are you okay?" The familiar voice sounded through my ear and I flinched on the bed, moving away from where I sat.

I cleared my eyes immediately and reached out for my dress which was beside me. After putting on my hundies, I stood up from the bed and began to dress up as I spoke to him. "I don't know you, you don't know me. Let's end things here."

"You don't know me?" He asked and I scoffed.

"I don't care to know you. I'm leaving," I told him and grabbed my jacket.

"You can't leave yet."

But yet, I was already out of the room, heading down the stairs and out of the bar cause I was a disappointment to myself.

It was quick for me to accept my fate, I didn't know why but I did. Maybe it was easier because we don't know each other and it was the end of us. Likewise, I was being stupid to mess around.

I made my way straight home to have my bath and discovered I was already late for work. I groaned angrily as I did all that I needed to do before I leave for work, thinking of the excuse to tell my boss why I came late.

In a few minutes, I was done. I decided to run a call through my colleagues for her to inform them I was still coming to work but then, my phone was nowhere to be found.

"Where is my phone?" I repeated as I searched everywhere for it. It then dawned on me after a while, I must have misplaced it while running for shelter or maybe at the pub. "No!" I yelled in anger as I grabbed my handbag and rushed out, locking my door behind. I need to find my phone as soon as possible.

The first thing I did when I got to work was ask for my colleague's phone. "I misplaced it and can't lose it," I told her before hurrying out of the restaurant to make a call.

I prayed silently as I dialed my number on the phone and luckily for me, at the first ring, it was received. "Hello, please. I'm the owner of this phone, may I know where I misplaced it?" I requested hurriedly, waiting for a positive answer.

"I told you not to leave but you did," the voice that came in uttered and I found myself biting down my lower lips in anger. I wasn't thinking of meeting him for eternity.

"Hey, Mr man!" I snapped in rage. "I need_"

"Call me Franco."

Franco’s POV.I could feel the warmth of the morning sun on my face, and I groaned in protest, not wanting to get out of bed. But then I heard a soft chuckle, and I opened my eyes to find Ivery's face inches from mine, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Looks like someone would rather not wake up,” she teased, snuggling closer to me. I couldn't help but smile, feeling the closeness of her body against mine.“Good morning, sunshine,” I said to her, my voice still thick with sleep. She smiled at me, and I felt my heart flutter. “Good morning, my love,” she replied, and I felt a surge of joy at hearing those words. I leaned in and gave her a gentle kiss, savoring the moment.Waking up next to Ivery every morning for the past year has been a blissful experience. • The CEO And His Ex Contracted Wife    A wedding night making out

Ivery’s POV.As I walked inside the room, I could hear voices and laughter coming from the living room. Franco was still attending to the guests, making sure everyone was comfortable and happy. I headed to the bathroom, closing the door behind me. The sound of the running water was soothing, and I took a moment to relax, enjoying the sensation of the warm water on my skin.I looked down at the ring on my finger, still in a bit of disbelief. I was married to Franco, the man of my dreams. It still seemed too good to be true. But the ring on my finger was a constant reminder of the love we shared, a symbol of our commitment to each other. I finished my shower, feeling refreshed and ready for the night.I stepped out of the bathroom, my hair still damp and tousled. I sat down at the dressing table, staring at my reflection in the mirror. I put on a silky black nightgown that clung to my curves. I ran my hands over the smooth fabric, feeling the coolness against my skin. It was simple, yet

  • The CEO And His Ex Contracted Wife    Wedding day

Ivery’s POV.One month later.I had heard so many stories about the bells ringing in the church on a wedding day, but I never thought I would get to experience it myself. I stood there, my heart racing, as the sound of the bells filled the air. It was a sound I would never forget, and it marked the beginning of a new life for me and my family. I stared at myself in the mirror, taking in the sight of the white wedding gown I was wearing. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, and I felt like I was in a dream. My hair was perfectly styled, and my makeup was flawless. I took a deep breath, trying to take it all in. Was this really happening? Was I really getting married? I looked at the door, waiting for the moment I would walk down the aisle. My mother, Cassy, and Owen, entered the room. "You look beautiful, my dear," my mother said, smiling at me. I blushed, grateful for her words. "It's time," Owen said, and I nodded, knowing that it was time to go. I took one last look

  • The CEO And His Ex Contracted Wife    Will you marry me?

Ivery’s POV.There, in my hands, was the DNA test, the results undeniable. Franco was the father of my children. How had he found out? Why had he been so silent all this time? A million questions raced through my mind, but I knew I wouldn't get any answers until I confronted him. My heart was racing, and my hands were shaking. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. I had to be strong. As I tried to calm myself, I felt a bead of sweat roll down my forehead. My hands trembled, and the room suddenly felt stiflingly hot. I looked up and my eyes met Franco's. I quickly looked away, feeling like a deer caught in headlights. I had so many questions, and I knew he had answers. But I didn't know if I could face him right now, with everything I had just discovered. The silence was broken by a question from Franco. "How long did you plan on keeping this from me?" he asked, his voice low and calm. I didn't know what to say, so I remained silent. I looked at everything in the room but him

  • The CEO And His Ex Contracted Wife    What do you want to tell me

Ivery’s POV.“Ladies first,” he said with a sly smile. I nodded, taking a deep breath. I reached into my purse and pulled out my phone, my hands shaking slightly. I fumbled with the screen, unlocking it and opening the video gallery. There it was, the video of Diva in his penthouse trying to force him to sign the check. I held out the phone, my heart pounding in my chest.“Take a look,” I said, my voice trembling. He took the phone from me, a look of confusion on his face. He held it up to his eyes, staring at the screen. At first, he didn't seem to understand what he was looking at. Then, his eyes widened, his jaw dropping slightly. He looked up at me, his face pale. “What is this?” he asked, his voice barely a whisper. I took a deep breath, preparing to tell him everything. As I told him everything, I watched as his face twitched with anger. His brow furrowed, his jaw clenched. “How dare she try to do this,” he said, his voice filled with rage? “I need to deal with her.” His ha
