Chapter 41

My whole life was quiet for three days. I didn't even go to school because I didn't want to see him. When Dave and I are alone in the living room I see him looking at me and sighing.

Sometimes when the mother looks at me, there is concern and wonder. I just lock myself in my room. I am still confused by what is happening. I just want to go back to my old life.

In the afternoon, I saw the mother. He is making coffee. I approached him and sat on the chair. I didn't say anything. I just sat down and laid my head on the table.

"Do you have something to confess to Lorelay?" asked the mother. I bit my lower lip and bowed. I feel guilty. I feel like the mother knows something. I feel that if I lie he will sulk.
