Chance encounter

THROWBACK

Derek first met Victoria when he was a freshman at the university and went to the library to read. On that day, she was sitting a little distance away, and for some reason, he felt drawn to her like a flame to a moth.

She was a very beautiful, but timid looking girl, and each time their eyes met, she blushed and looked away quickly. However, it was clear that she was probably interested in him too, because she kept stealing glances in his direction.

Deciding that he would try to strike up a conversation with her after some time had passed, Derek got up and went to get another book in another part of the library.

He only took a few minutes to do so, but by the time he got back, she was gone. Apparently, he had misread her, and she had probably thought he was a creep, which was why she was glancing surreptitiously at him.

He thanked his stars that he didn’t actually approach her, because that would have been embarrassing, and continued with his reading. The next time he saw Vic

Dear readers, I know many of you do not like throwbacks, but I feel this one is necessary to shed more light on how Derek, Steve, and Damien, who were once best friends fell out. It'll be the last throwback, I promise. Also, I'll try not to make it too long so I can get back to telling the story. Thanks for your continued support. I don't take it for granted.

Sometimes throwbacks are necessary. But we do need AVA and Derek to start getting close.
