At the Company…

I sat at my desk, sorting through the endless stacks of paperwork that seemed to multiply every time I turned my back. Just as I was beginning to feel overwhelmed. My secretary, Mr Dante knocked on the door and he walked in.

"Sir, you have a meeting at 2 o'clock and it’s time," He said. I sighed and stood up, wishing I could just stay buried in my work, but I knew I had to get on with it.

"Send them in," I said, steeling myself for the meeting ahead.

The board members filed into the room and took their seats around the conference table. They all looked serious, and I knew what they were going to say before they even opened their mouths.

"Sir, we need to discuss the matter of your succession plan," the head of the board said. "As you know, it's imperative that the company have a clear path forward in the event of your absence. Do you have any plans to marry and have an heir?"
