Chapter two

Are you alright," the man from table one asked.

"I'm fine. How did you know I was out here?"

"I didn't. I thought I scared you asking for your number so I was coming to apologize. I'm glad I came now."

"Yeah, me too."

"So, what was your name again?"

"Elena."

"Well Elena. I promise I am not a stalker. Can I walk you home so I know you won't be attacked again?"

"I'm sure I can walk home alone. But thank you for your offer."

"How about this. I have a personal driver that will give you a ride. I am staying at a hotel across the street so I won't need him."

"I will be fine."

"At least do it for me saving you."

"....Fine"

"He is right out front," he said grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the front.

I quickly freed my hand and walked beside him.

"Here you go. Just tell Lucas where to go."

He opened the door and let me in.

"Thank you," I told him as he shut the door. He waved while Lucas pulled away.

I told him where I needed to go.

"Excuse me. But can you tell me what his name was? He never mentioned it."

"Ma'am, you mean you do not recognize him?"

"No, I can honestly say I haven't."

"That Brian Mathews, the CEO of NC Records."

"I have never heard of him."

"He was voted America's hottest male of 2015 and owns a couple of hotels in the area."

I didn't say anything else to Lucas. He pulled up to my apartment. I opened the door, thanked him, and went upstairs.

"Thank you for watching him, Mrs. Smith."

"He is delightful! I love Kade. He reminds me of my grandchildren."

Mrs. Smith's grandchildren lived in California. We lived in North Carolina so she never had the opportunity to see them.

"Bye, Mrs. Smith." 

"Elena! Elena! Look what I did."

I looked over at Kade and seen him covered in flour.

"We were making cookies and she left to talk to you so I finished them."

"Kade, you made a mess."

"No, I made cookies."

I gave Kade a bath and put him to sleep.

I took a quick shower when I got out I heard up the phone.

"Hello," I asked speaking into the phone.

"Elena?"

"Who is this?"

"Oh sorry. This is Brian."

"Who?"

"Oh I am the man from the diner."

"How did you get my number?!"

"I asked one of the girls that was covering for you."

I mentally told myself to kill Jenny the next day I have work.

"Well I was wondering if I could take you out sometime?"

"I'm not interested."

I quickly hung up and went to my bed.

I wouldn't fit in with someone like him.

Today was Saturday. My day off. Mrs. Smith came by and took Kade to the park so I was alone. I walked to the library to see what all I could find out about my new admirer. I decided I wanted to know more about Brian Mathews.

I opened up G****e, searched "Brian Matthews", and clicked on the first site.

"Brian Matthews is 20 year old with a bright future. Not only is he an upcoming CEO but he was voted America's hottest male of 2015. Brian's father is falling ill and he must take over the company. He is currently running his father's newest company in North Carolina. Brian spends thousands of dollars in charities around the globe. He also owns several hotels. He is doing a lot at the young age of 20."

"Why hasn't anyone in this town recognized you?" I thought to myself.
