Chapter 41: Offensive Suspicions

His clenched jaw and tightened grip were more than enough for Sarah to realize that Victor was furious.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Oliver said, retreating a few steps. "I didn't mean to bother. I just wanted to talk to Sarah, since she-"

"You already did, now go. And don't come back," Victor uttered behind his teeth.

Sarah's mouth dropped in shock. She had never seen him that way and she couldn't believe that Victor would be so impolite and rude to a friend of hers.

"Goodbye then, Sarah. I'm glad you're alright," Oliver said and rushed to the gate, disappearing from her sight before she had the chance to reply.

"What the h*ll, Victor?" she turned to face him. "Why did you do that?"

Victor got back inside, and she closed the door behind her, following him close. He went straight to the living room and grabbed his usual glass of whisky before turning to look at her.

"I don't want anyone around the house. Especially him," he spat.

Sarah narrowed her eyes.

"Why not? What did he do anyway?" she ask
