Chapter 19

Samantha's POV

A loud sound woke me up and I jerked out of my deep slumber. The moment I opened my eyes, I realized I couldn't see a thing. My mind went blank but I didn't get the chance to panic though because my mind and brain suddenly came to life to realize that it was dark and it was nighttime already. 

The continuous tone that filled the entire room brought me back to the fact that it was what woke me up. I stood up from the bed and tried to search for my phone, using the little ray of light that existed in the room and the sound from the phone. 

"Ouch!" I winced when I hit my leg against something I couldn't make out. "Where's the damn phone? I should at least see it with it's light." 

Bearing the sting, I eventually found my phone on the nightstand. I realized it was placed face down and the moment I picked it up, the light from the screen shone in the room but went off instantly.
