Bathing took thirty minutes of her time as she took the time to scrub every inch of her body while she sat in the bathtub.
The apartment, unlike her last, had a shower and bathtub and she had two-bedroom although she only used one, a large dining room and an impressive living room. It had a fire escape where she could sit and stare at the beautiful city at night and she knew it had cost Cainan a lot to get it, but he refused to disclose to her how much and she couldn’t force him anymore than she had.
She stepped out of the bathtub and picked up her white towel and wrapped it around her body before moving to the stall where the standing mirror was and she stared at herself in it, holding onto the towel. There was not much difference in her looks, except for the few pounds which she had added in the last three weeks. Her stomach slightly protruded, but not obvious, and it was only a matter of weeks before it would start showing.

Twenty-five minutes later and Jasmin walked out of the bedroom in the polka-dot dress and the three inches, black, open toe heel her and red hair she let fall over her shoulder, giving her both enchanting and innocent look. She tried on a few items in the makeup kit Cainan had gotten for her, which were lipstick, powder and mascara. She wanted to look good for him, even when she didn’t think she should. Her eyes travelled to Cainan, who was standing in the room staring down at his phone and whatever was on it was important enough to make him not note her. He hadn’t changed from his clothes, but he looked delicious and after what happened earlier, her body cried for him to take control. She shook the thoughts out of her head and she cleared her throat and his head snapped up. His eyes grew wide in admiration and he slipped his phone into his pocket before stepping forward towards her. She hadn’t had someone stare so fondly at her before,
With his hand on the small of her back, he led her into the dining room where four unfamiliar faces sat waiting for them. There was an older woman at the left corner of the dining table sharing facial similarities with Cainan and the two young ladies at the right and the young man sitting close to the chair where Donald just took, the siblings sharing a similar look with their father. On seeing them, Ada got up and walked over to them, kissing her son’s forehead when she was close enough. “I’m so glad you made it, Cainan.” She cheered. “I had to. I’m trying to be a better son, remember?” He said with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. She nodded and stroked his cheek before turning to look at Jasmin. Her brown eyes twitched and warmed up, and before Jasmin could utter a polite greeting, she wrapped her arms around her. “We didn’t come to hug, we came to eat,” Cainan grumbled aloud and the two women pulled away with Ada
AFTER the dinner, Lisa invited her to an all-girls day out, which was next week, and though Cainan softly told her to turn the offer down, she nodded and smiled. Cainan made his way towards the park where his car was and he told her to stand on the balcony and wait for him and while she waited for him, Ada took hold of her hands as she came to stand beside her. “Mrs Abayomi,” she said with a light gasp as her action took her by surprise. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you, child.” She apologised. She bobbed her head in understanding, “It’s fine.” “I need you to take good care of him, Jasmin, he has been through so much loss and sorrow and most people don’t survive from such loss, but he’s as strong as he is stubborn and I’m glad he’s got someone with a strong will like you in his life.” “You think I am what he needs?” Her voice was hollow and confused at Ada’s imputations. She just smiled, “You’re w
Jasmin felt lost, trying to figure out where exactly Lisa and her friends were when she heard. “Over here.” Lisa invited her to an all-girls day out last week at the dinner and though Cainan didn’t want her coming, she didn’t know if they were going to be a thing anymore. Since she came out to him with the truth about her pregnancy a week ago, he hadn’t called or even texted and she was sure that when he would finally call, it would be to end their agreement and he would have every right to do so. Their relationship existed on an agreement, yet she felt the sting of his absence and every day she wanted to reach out to him but she did not know what to say. She couldn’t apologise for being pregnant, but she could apologise for keeping it away for so long she wouldn’t be able to apologise if Cainan was going to cut her off completely. She could barely keep up at work and put on a brave face, anything and everythin
To celebrate 100 votes on #TCCWTT, here is a new chapter. I hope you enjoy it, don’t forget to vote and leave a comment!! 🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊 She slowly opened the door and entered her apartment, only to be consumed by the sweet smell of potato chips, tomato and egg sauce. This caused her mouth to water and her stomach to growl in response. She remembered on one date with Cainan weeks ago; she had ordered this when she saw him eating it and it looked pleasing to the eyes. When she got served and finally tasted it; she wondered where it had been all her life. The aroma, the taste and feel... Some things were always going to be better than sex. She didn’t need to taste to know the meal was going to be heavenly, and she couldn’t wait. Then she remembered who was doing the cooking. Cainan and her heart slammed against her chest at the thought of him being in her house. She didn’t remember giving him a key, and she didn’t even know she shared one w
“Don’t miss your break time,” Andrew told Jasmin as her alarm went off. She smiled at him, grabbed her phone from him before heading out to get lunch. Her relationship with Anita went on a rocky path. It became that way last week after she came out to her with the news of her pregnancy and told her it belonged to Cainan when she asked. They still spoke to her from time to time, but she knew something changed and feared it would never be the way it used to be. Being talk buddies with Andrew was fun, but Anita was better, and Jasmin wished that someday they could all work out some sort of friendship amongst themselves. Anita didn’t share any bad blood with Andrew, and if she didn’t act withdrawn with her, they would have been a perfect trio without difficulty. As Jasmin ate, Anita walked over to her table. She dropped her lunch tray beside hers and sat quietly as they ate. When she finished, she spoke, “There is an event tomorrow
After work closed, Jasmin returned home to shower and get ready for the party. Cainan has completely forbidden it last night when she informed him about it, but since he was her boyfriend and not her father or God, she did otherwise. She would not give him the satisfaction of smirking while having his way with her. She was sad about his refusal to let her do the job; she was going to turn it down even though that meant breaking her words, but after he smugly stated how he wanted a woman, he could have fun with even if that meant pushing her to her knees, she wanted nothing more than to give him the middle finger and that was exactly what she was going to do. The party kicked off at eight p.m., just like most normally do, and Jasmin joined the rest servers to serve and attend to the tables of the guest. This was a religious event from her observation of its activities, act and guest. She didn’t really care which event it was; she was getting pai
At the sight of him, her mind ran with different thoughts, already knowing that the night would not end well. People should at least get to finish the course of their disobedience before being punished, because getting caught sucks. She thought. He was in a white long sleeve tucked into the black trousers with three of its buttons undone from what she could see from the distance and even though he was angry; he looked good. He also looked like trouble and she became terrified of him and what he was thinking about doing and the last thing she wanted was a commotion at this event. Anita and George would never forgive her, and she wouldn't forgive herself, either. She didn't know which was the right thing to do, go up to him and ask him what he was doing at the event or ignore him and pretend as though she didn't see him and hopefully he would go away. She real
