Lunch Date

Donovan Lewis felt a little too comfortable with Iris Blair.

She was so easy to talk to. She had a warm smile and her amber eyes were full of interest every time he talked. He was supposed to tell her mostly lies, but he felt so seen, he ended up telling her real things about himself.

“Wait, so you collect golf clubs but…don’t go golfing?!” Iris asked.

“I like the way they look, but I think I’d be terrible at golf.”

“It’s not that hard, I love going golfing.”

“Maybe you can teach me?” Donovan asked, his grey eyes looking up from his salad.

Iris bit her lip. “Yeah, maybe I could. We just have to be careful of your knee, you know, not to twist it too much.”

“I’m sure you’ll take care of me.”

Iris knew she shouldn’t even be entertaining Donvoan’s flirting. She should have him work with Joi or Korah instead to keep things from being too complicated. But she found herself thoroughly fascinated with him and was almost desperate to know more.
