Something Missing

Emile was hypnotized by Iris.

He forced himself to keep his eyes open as she made love to him. As much as he liked having control, he also loved letting her take the lead. He bit his lip as she moved on top of him. He guided her hips up and down slowly, letting the pleasure surge through him.

Emile felt himself getting more turned on as he heard Iris’s enthusiastic moans float through the room. Sienna was never like this when they made love.

Sienna was much too reserved. She didn’t want to try anything new and exciting and she was almost too submissive. Iris was the opposite. She and Emile never made love the same way twice. She was loud, and encouraging and her body would shake and twitch every time Emile took her there.

Iris never left Emile wondering if he had done a good job. He knew from the noises she made and how her body seemed almost possessed by pleasure that he was satisfying her the right way.

The two lovers gasped and moaned in sync as they continued their vigorous love making. Emile could feel all through his body that he was close. Iris could tell too. By now she knew all too well what Emile looked like before he lost it.

The way his gorgeous face would scrunch up and his teeth would sink into his lower lip. How his body would start to gently convulse and his grip on her would tighten.

A loud, elongated groan escaped Emile as his climax hit him powerfully. Iris looked down at him almost smugly. She had convinced herself that if she could continue to sexually pleasure Emile, he would have no reason to want to stay with his wife.

“I love starting my mornings off like this,” Emile grinned up at his gorgeous mistress.

“It’s the perfect workout,” Iris giggled. “Not that you need to worry about that.”

Her hands danced over Emile’s six pack and V muscles. He hated how much he compared the two, but Sienna never complimented his body.

“Even if I don’t need it, I love working out with you,”

“Do you want to shower with me too?”

Emile never turned that down.

As always, it was a very steamy shower, but it was more than just sexual. There was romance to it. Though Iris was much shorter, she stood on her tiptoes to wash Emile’s hair. She would massage his scalp as relaxing music filled the hazy room.

Emile’s eyes always closed as he felt like he was floating. Iris knew how to take care of him and make him feel secure. He felt he could be vulnerable with Iris in a way he couldn’t with anyone else. That’s why he loved her.

Iris felt the same way with Emile. She rarely ever lied to him. There was complete honesty between them. She could be herself with him. That’s why she loved him.

“Do you think your wife knows about me?” Iris asked, running her hands through her wet hair as the two sat at the breakfast table.

“Um…I’m not sure.”

“Have you…ever done this before?”

“Not like this. I’ve had other flings that lasted a few weeks, but I’ve never been with another woman like this,” Emile explained. “You’re special, Iris.”

She couldn’t help but smile. “So you don’t love your wife at all?”

“Not in the right way. When we got married, it was kind of a marriage for convenience. I was only thinking of making more money and moving up in the company. It didn't matter that I didn’t love her the right way. But then I finally became CEO and I realized how…unhappy I was. So I started sleeping around, looking for what was missing…I found it with you.”

“So when the time comes…you’ll actually leave her right?” Iris whispered.

“Of course, baby. Why are you asking all these questions?”

“I don’t know. I get insecure sometimes. I’ve never done this before.”

“Why do you do it?” Emile questioned.

“Because this feels right. We’re in love. I’ve never met anyone like you, Emile.” She smiled.

“Is it…really hard?”

Iris nodded. “Yeah, especially when we can’t really go out except for secluded corners in restaurants. And when my ex badgers me, I can’t actually tell him who my new boyfriend is because that puts everything at risk. And I want to sleep next to you every night.”

Emile felt incredibly guilty now. He hated that Iris felt lonely and that they couldn’t be as exclusive as they both wanted to be.

“It’s just eight more months and then we get to be together for real, Iris. I promise.”

Iris nodded, even though she wasn’t exactly sure that she believed him.

***

Sienna knew Emiile was thinking about his mistress.

She could just tell.

He was fidgety and constantly glancing at his phone as though waiting for a text or a call. He most definitely seemed like he didn’t want to be there.

“How was last night with Mr. Wallace?” Sienna asked.

“Oh it was fun. Mr. Wallace of course went a little wild. We had to get him back to his hotel, but it was a good night.” Emile smiled.

“He’s one of your biggest partnerships right?”

“He is! And he’s got this great technology that’s really going to change the game completely. Get this: laptops that have a built in leg stand,  so it makes working from anywhere so much easier! He’s also got so many other ideas…”

Sienna’s mind started to wander. She wasn’t very interested in tech or the business that Emile was CEO of. She liked the life that it gave her and was glad that Emile had a job he enjoyed, but that kind of stuff just didn’t pique her interest.

Emile could always tell when Sienna stopped listening. It always bothered him that she wasn’t better at pretending. Her blue eyes would dull and she would start playing with her red hair. She was looking at him, but she wasn’t seeing him.

Iris always listened with enthusiasm when Emile talked. It made him feel important and like more than just a wallet.

Finally when Emile was done talking, Sienna spoke. “Don’t forget, babe, on Sunday we have family brunch.”

Emile groaned. He had completely forgotten and already made plans with Iris to take her to the beach house. He would have to cancel and beg for forgiveness.

“Right, of course.”

“Please don’t wear a suit, Emile, it makes my sister’s husband nervous.”

“So what am I supposed to wear?” He frowned.

“Something more casual, please.” Sienna responded.

“Fine.”

“Are you upset?”

“I’m just…I like wearing suits. I don’t understand why I have to change that because of your sister’s stupid husband.”

“Ryan is not stupid,”

“He’s an idiot,” Emile rolled his eyes. “I don’t see why I have to make him feel comfortable.”

“He’s insecure because he’s not at the same level as you,” Sienna informed him.

“He should be, he’s a loser.”

“Emile! Don’t be an asshole.”

“Sorry,” He muttered. “Wasn’t he voted most likely to get arrested at some point though?”

Sienna couldn't help but laugh. She too of course thought her sister’s husband was below her, but she tried to be nice usually.

Emile broke into a smile too. “See I knew you didn’t like him either.”

“He’s just so strange,” Sienna giggled. “I mean doesn’t he blow his nose a lot?”

“Like an insane amount! I thought he was on coke.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. That's probably where all their money goes.”

“You know, I swear that I saw him with something white under his nose once,” Emile chuckled.

“Oh be quiet, that was from the powdered donut!” Sienna lightly smacked his hand.

The couple had a wonderful night after that. They laughed and talked in a way they hadn’t in a long time. Sienna was starting to feel better about their marriage. If they kept this up, Emile would remember how happy he was with her.

He would forget about his mistress.

With plans to watch a movie and maybe even make love when they got home, Sienna was more than excited and Emile even found himself looking forward to it.

The moment they stepped into the house, Emile’s phone buzzed.

He looked down on the screen and saw a text from Iris.

I need you, can you please come get me?

Emile didn’t even think twice.

“Sienna, I’m sorry. Freddie just texted me that he’s hammered and left his house keys in the office. I gotta go unlock the office for him and go get him.”

Sienna frowned. “Oh, okay…should I wait up for you?”

“Probably not, babe. Who knows how long it’ll take to get to the office and then whatever bar he’s at. I’ll see you in the morning, okay?”

He kissed her cheek and went back out of the door. He called Freddie.

“Hey, if Sienna texts you, you’re drunk and I’m coming to help you.”

“What’s going on?” Freddie asked.

“I’m going to pick up Iris.”

“Then you’re not lying completely. I’m at a party with her. I would hurry up and get here. Her ex boyfriend is bothering her.”

“I’ll be there as soon as possible.”

Emile got in his car and sped off to go rescue the woman he loved.

Sienna stood in the foyer, fuming. She knew that her husband was going to see his mistress and she couldn’t take it anymore.

She grabbed her keys and left the house.

Sienna needed to find out this woman’s name once and for all.
