The Lamp

“What…what are you doing here, Cal?” Iris asked.

“Don’t act coy sweetheart,” Cal chuckled. “You know you invited me over.”

“He’s lying,” Iris whispered. “I would never.”

“Let me in!”

“Go away Cal!” Iris called. “O-or I’ll call the police!”

“I’m calling your bluff, baby. You never call the police on me. Now let me in.”

“Go away!” Sienna snapped. “She may not call the cops on you but I will!”

“Then do it.” Cal said.

There was something horribly sinister in his voice. Iris looked through the peephole once more and saw that Cal was no longer there.

“Where did he go?” She whispered.

“Maybe he actually left.” Sienna suggested.

They both jumped and screamed at the sound of broken glass.

“Where did that come from?” Iris whimpered.

“I-I don’t know! I think he’s in the house.”

Sienna grabbed Iris and pulled her way from the door and towards the stairs.

“No, in the scary movies, we’re not supposed to go upstairs.” Iris hissed.

“This isn’t a movie, Iris.” Sienna whispered as she pushed her
