Pausing briefly from what she was saying at the meeting and with everyone’s attention on her, awaiting her response, she replied coldly.
“We have nothing to talk about. She confessed to her crime and will go to prison for it. My lawyer is already on his way.”
She did not think that Ezrah would want to discuss anything else apart from Piper, but his response raised a greater disappointment in her. “What makes you think I would allow it?”
The executives were stationed in New York City and were well aware of who Ezrah was. Only his relationship with Michelle seemed to confuse them as it did not seem to be business-related but rather personal.
“It was your child too.” Dismay laced Michelle’s tone, but she was not ready to drag this matter any longer. If after everything Piper went to jail, she would leave right after.
