Chapter 5

Hailey was the eldest daughter of the George's family, a woman once famous for her beauty in Manila city. Three years ago, she married Nikolai Coke, the heir of the Coke's family, and became Mrs Coke.

Rumors had it that President Nikolai didn't want to marry her as at that time. But she did something that made Old Master Coke favour her, and so he forced President Nikolai to marry her.

However, rumors had it that after President Coke married her, he never went home again.

As it seemed, President Nikolai really disliked his his wife.

The secretary ushered Hailey into the office with a complicated look on her face.

Nikolai put down the documents in his hands and stared coldly at the woman who entered his office.

In tbe part three years since they got married, this woman rarely showed her face around him because she knew that he abhorred her.

But in the past few days, she had appeared before him too frequently. She either seduced him or beg him to eat noodles. Now, she even came to his company. 

Did she admit that he didn't dare to roughen her up just because she's Mrs Coke?

"Nikolai...."

He heard the woman clear and emotionless voice. Then she handed him a document.

He cast a glare at it. When he saw the title on the documents, the look on his face quickly become astonished.

"This is a divorce settlement agreement, I have put down my signature..." Hailey said flatly, "Please keep your promise and design a wedding dress for me"

"Ptfff"

Nikolai chuckled with a look of mockery in his eyes.

"Hailey's George, I never promised to design a wedding dress for you"

"If you want a divorce, you must design a wedding dress for me" Hailey bit her lips and looked at the man's from expression. She begged, "Nikolai, I know you are busy and don't have enough time to spare... I don't ask for much. You just have to draw a draft. I can find someone else to make the wedding dress. I know that. I know that Agnes George has been waiting for too long. Don't you want to marry her sooner?" Hailey sneered.

"If you agree to the divorce terms, you will be free from the shackles of our marriage and you can finally be with the one you cherished the most!" Her voice sounded as if she was pleading.

Nikolai listened as he looked at the divorce settlement agreement with signature on it.

Her name, Hailey George was written boldly on the paper. It was undoubtedly her handwriting.

Once he added his signature, the divorce settlement would be finalized, and the marriage he had abhorred for the past three years would immediately come to an end!

However....

Didn't she refused to get a divorce? Why.....was she suddenly willing to sign the divorce papers now?

Nikokai tried to ignore the strange feelings in his heart. He frowned and looked at Hailey, whose face was still pale, "What trick are you trying to play?"

Hailey felt an ache in her heart.

To him, everything she did was part of a scheme...

Hailey held back her sadness and smiled.

"Nikolai, since you are not turning down my request, it means that you have agreed"

"So, it's a deal. Don't go back on your word "

And after she said that before Nikolai even responded, she turning immediately and walked out of the office. She seemed like she was gleeing from Nikolai. As if she was afraid that he would regret his decision.

Perhaps, it was because she left in a hurry. As soon as she stepped into the elevator, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach.

She walked out of the elevator slowly, holding onto the wall for support. Once the pain in her stomach eased a little, she picked her phone and called her mother.

"Mom, as you wished, I have signed the divorce settlement agreement "

"Good girl. Hailey my sensible daughter. Don't worry, Dad and Mom will make it up for....."

Listening to her mother's excited voice, Hailey hung up with indifference.

She had less than three months to live. In the next three months, she must live for herself....

She stepped out of the tower. The sunlight shone on her, dispelling the gloomy feeling within her.

However, as soon as she exited the tower, she saw Agnes coming towards her in her wheelchair.

Hailey watched her younger sister come towards her. Her gaze fell on her wrist. The skin looked intact and there was no scar on it.

"Hailey my sister, what are you looking at?" Agnes raised her wrist with a faint smile on her face.

"Last night, I just wanted to slice an apple with a knife. I didn't expect that Mom would think I want to commit suicide and send me to the hospital. I had a full check up and I was discharged today. Hailey, Mom still cares about me very much, don't you think so?"

It turned out that Agnes did not try to take her own life at all.

Their mother had deliberately told Hailey to divorce Nikokai.

There was no expression on Hailey's face and there was a faint smile on her lips, "Congratulations, then for you can finally become someone lawfully wife instead of a home wrecker"

Hearing the word, "Homewrecker" Agnes expression suddenly become grim.

Her beautiful face contorted with anger, "My dear sister, haven't you heard? In a love triangle, the person who is not loved is the homewrecker! I'm just trying to take back what belongs to me!"

Her utter shamelessness made Hailey to Hurst out laughing out loud.

For a long time, Agnes has successfully fooled everyone with her weak and delicate appearance including the man who was smart enough to rule the world of business ------

Nikolai Coke!

"Agnes, I never owe you anything. Stop playing the victim in front of me" The look on Hailey's face was cold, and she stared at Agnes with such an emotionless face, "Also, I you have done too many awful deeds, you will have to pay the price someday. That's exactly what happened to your legs. Am I right?"

"Hailey!! You bitch!" Agnes screamed.

Recalling the fear and pain she har gone through when she fell down from the stairs years ago, Agnes could no longer hold back her anger. She raised the glass in her hand and threw the water in it at Hailey.

A glass of water splashed unto Hailey and she was soaked all through.

She took a cold look at Agnes, turned around and went into the building to ask for a jug of water. Then she strode to Agnes and poured the entire jug of water on Agnes.

"Aaahhh!;!"

Agnes screamed. She wanted to lunge forward and pull Hailey's hair, but her legs could barely budge. All she could do was sit there and let Hailey jeep pouring water on her.

"Agnes George, I tolerated our mother because she gave birth to me and raised me. I tolerated Nikolai Coke because he is my husband. Who do you think you are?"

Hailey stared at her coldly.

"We are no longer sisters ever since years ago when you tried to set me up, but fell off the stairs instead. From now on, I won't tolerate you "

As soon. As she finished, a shadow suddenly loomed over.

Someone shove Hailey on the shoulder. She was caught off guarded and fell to the floor on her bum.

"Nikolai!!"
