Chapter 207

Once night fell, Damian slipped off like a shadow and headed toward Edna's old residence. True enough, he was over 300 feet away when he saw several thugs patrolling the area, keeping watch.

But for Damian, their presence made no difference. He easily bypassed them and reached the towering walls built around the old residence. It was over ten feet tall—almost as tall as prison walls.

It was hard to believe that nothing fishy was going on inside.

Creeping along the base of the wall, Damian managed to find the entrance, but the padlock was so huge that it almost felt suffocating just to see it.

He grabbed it and yanked it hard, pulling it apart. Then, he pushed the door open and stepped into the compound.

Immediately, he saw a rundown house with overgrown weeds all around it. The atmosphere was a little eerie.

A relentless hammering echoed from inside the house. In this already creepy environment, the sound seemed even more chilling.
