Niccola Fairchild
I still can’t believe my eyes as I look over my shoulder to find Cole here. His name is Cole, of course, it is, a name as beautiful as he is. Why didn’t I do my homework when it came to my mother? In my defense, how could I have known my mother would marry someone like him? Her usual targets are older men, almost dying men, men who will leave their fortune to her because they think she will take care of them. What a joke.
“What is going on?” Steph asks, and I snap my head around, looking at her, trying to pretend everything is okay, but I can feel his eye on me. “Do you know him?” She asks, lifting her chin slightly, pointing at Cole.
“Shhhh,” I say, pulling her by her wrist to the corner of the room away from prying eyes and ears.
“Hey, you’re hurting me. What the hell is going on, Nicci? You have been on edge since your mother introduced you to her husband.” She says, and I close my eyes for a second, and when I open them, it’s like Steph can read my mind.
“BAR GUY, DING DING DING, ONE NIGHT STAND GUY, DING DING DING, BEST SEX OF MY LIFE, DING DING DING.”
“Oh my God, that’s him? The guy from that night?” She whispers as she looks over her shoulder, and I nod, covering my face with my hands. Of course, the only guy that has made my insides turn and I regretted not telling my name, or anything about me, is getting married to my mother this weekend.
“I can see why you…” she says, smiling, and I shake my head slightly, trying to forget the best night of my life. The night that changed my vision on men in suits and now… This… “What are you going to do?” Steph asks, and I frown.
“Nothing, I am not going to do anything,” I let out, and her eyes widen slightly as if I had just grown another head or something. “There’s nothing I can do, he is going to marry my mother, my freaking mother, arghhhhh,” I let out in frustration, “She’s going to make a big deal out of this and make me see him as my stepdad,” I let out as I gag, and Steph laughs.
“I think you should go powder your nose and compose yourself, this is only gonna get worse,” Steph says, and I nod, agreeing with her as I remember the seating chart for the dinner.
“Any chance we can sit me next to my mother?” I ask as I walk away, and Steph shakes her head as I walk towards the restrooms. As I was creating the seating chart, I placed myself next to Mr. Sutcliffe because, in my mind, nothing would be worse than sitting next to my mother, but now… Why? Why is this happening to me? If I believed in God, I would be thinking this was a sick joke on his part, but no, I did this to myself.
As I apply my red lipstick, I watch as the door behind me opens and Cole steps inside. My entire body freezes as he locks the door behind him, his eyes lock on mine through the reflection in the mirror.
“So, Niccola,” Cole says, and it’s like his voice sends a chill down my spine, and my entire body stiffens as I watch him walk to me with his hands in his pockets. His entire presence commands respect and attention, as if the air surrounding him moved at his will. How is it possible someone can have a presence like this?
“You shouldn’t be in here,” I let out as a whisper and the corner of his lips raises as he stands inches away from me. Oh my, this is dangerous. My entire body is calling for his as the memories from that night invade my mind. The way his hands moved up and down my body…
“Shouldn’t I? Maybe I should be somewhere else? Like inside of you?” He says as he leans closer to me and whispers in my ear, and I try to step back, but I am pressed already against the sink. Cole’s hands steady me as they rest on my hips, and his eyes meet mine. How can someone have eyes like those? It’s like they are a pool without an end.
My entire body shivers at his touch as his hand moves to my face and then behind my neck, tangling his fingers in my hair on the back of my head, and pulls, exposing my throat while his lips meet the sensitive skin on my neck, making me moan as my hands rest on his arms.
“That’s it, moan for me,” he growls as his lips meet mine with a powerful and seductive kiss, sending me into a spiral without end.
Cole SutcliffeWatching Niccola leave is one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I had to watch her leave me one more time, and this time for good. I sit back down as Monica’s hand rests on my arm, and I move it with one swift movement. I can’t stand her touch, especially after feeling Niccola’s once more. I have dreamt about that moment for days. And now I know I can’t have her. I don’t have a way out of this. I thought I could. “Smile, darling, people are starting to notice,” Monica says, and I stare at her in disbelief. “I am not going to entertain this any longer,” I say, and her eyes meet mine as her eyebrows raise and she offers me a cold smile. “That’s where you’re wrong, darling, the contract is very clear, you either marry me, or you lose everything,” Monica says, and I close my eyes for a split second. I need to get this contract overturned, but right now I can’t do anything. I can’t risk losing my company, my money, everything I have worked so hard to buil
Niccola Fairchild“No, no, we can’t do this,” I say as I place my hands on Cole’s chest and push him away from me, but, opposed to what you see in the movies, he doesn’t budge. His entire body stays in place, against mine as his eyes scan my face, his eyes moving from my eyes to my lips and back to my eyes. “No, what we can’t do is stay away from each other; you feel it. I know you do,” he says, and I almost give in. It’s like his voice has mind-controlling power or some shit. I shake my head, trying to clear my head as Cole’s hand rests on my face. Slowly, he moves his fingers, resting them under my chin, forcing me to look up at him.“Fucking look at me, Niccola,” Cole says, and I snap my eyes open to meet his blue ones, and I can’t help but smile slightly. “I can’t stay away from you, I don’t know what kind of spell you put on me, but I just can’t,” he says, and I nod slightly before his lips meet mine again. His kiss tastes like hell and heaven at the same time. I don’t know how

Cole Sutcliffe POV“I really don’t care,” I let out without lifting my eyes from my laptop. I can’t believe this is happening to me. Why did I agree to this? I pinch the bridge of my nose as a headache starts to make its way to torment me. “But it is your wedding day too,” Monica says, and I let out a breath, trying to control my mood. This woman has the ability to make me lose my shit so easily. “I told you I don’t fucking care, now leave, and let me work,” I bark at her, and she clicks her tongue as she looks at me, crossing her arms in front of her chest. Her eyes meet mine as a sinister smile appears on her lips. “Okay, now don’t forget we have dinner booked tonight at eight, don’t be late, please, and wear a blue tie so you can match my dress,” Monica adds, and I wave my hand trying to dismiss her. Acquiring Fairchild Enterprises is becoming harder than I thought it was going to be, and it’s not even for the actual work; it’s for dealing with the woman attached to the company
Niccola Fairchild“Let’s get out of here,” he whispers in my ear in the most sensual tone I have ever heard in my life. The way his words travel down my body makes me realise this man can have any woman he wants, and he is freaking choosing me. I nod as I hold on to his tie, pulling him close to me one more time, erasing the distance between us. His hands move to my ass, pressing my front to his, and I can feel his erection against my body. I was never one for one-night stands. Although all my relationships ended with me being cheated on… I am probably what people call a serial monogamist. I hate being alone, and according to Steph, that is my only flaw. Obviously, that’s not true, but I really don’t know how to be alone, and maybe the fact that I haven’t been in a relationship for more than four months is now making me a one-night stand slut. “Yes,” I whisper against his lips. Immediately, he pulls away, retrieving his wallet from the inside pocket of his suit jacket that was hangi
Niccola Fairchild POV“That fucking weasel,” I say as I enter my office, followed by Steph. I shake my head, allowing a single tear to roll down my cheek. I immediately clean it with the sleeve of my blouse as I pace my office from side to side, not being able to think or process what just happened. “I don’t understand. What is she getting out of this?” Steph asks as she leans against the door with her arms crossed in front of her chest, and I shake my head, way too angry to speak. I haven’t seen my mother for over ten years, and suddenly she appears out of thin fucking air demanding that I work for her? Hell no. I am not going to allow this to happen. “Control,” I let out through gritted teeth. “What?” Steph asks as she frowns, moving from the door and standing in front of me with her arms crossed in front of her chest. “Control, she thinks she can control me,” I say, and Steph lets out the loudest laugh I have ever heard coming out of her mouth. “Has she even met you?” She says
