Chapter 10

The ringtone continued playing. Seeing that Reed wasn't intending to answer the call, Kim said directly, "I'll pick it up for you."

Seeing Kim proceed to answer, Reed hurriedly grabbed the phone from her and and answered. "Hello."

"Where are you?" Dave's impatient voice came from over the phone.

Reed looked at Kim and responded, "I'm at my friend's place."

"Come home in an hour."

After saying that, Dave hung up without giving her any chance to refute. His words were like an imperial edict. Although Kim kept telling her she shouldn't do as he said, Reed dared not do so.

At Dave's Villa, Reed knocked on the door a minute before the deadline.

Dave opened and looked at his watch, "Did you do it on purpose?"

"What?" Reed looked at him confused.

Dave didn't respond to her and ushered her in.

Inside, he pointed to a file bag on the tea table, and said, "Sign this."

"What's this?" Reed asked as she walked over and took out the documents from the file. A credit card fell out as a result.

There
