"I have sent the message. The meeting is at Phoenix-Top Hotel," Cassey informed Ava on the phone.

"Okay," Ava said and hung up, with her hands trembling already in anxiety of what she had ordered Cassey to do. Her eyes darted around the room unable to settle on any one thing, as if searching for an escape from the overwhelming anxiety that suddenly coursed through their veins as she dropped the phone on her bed.

A nervous tic betrayed her anxious anticipation of the reality that was about to barge on her, as her fingers traced the invisible patterns on her white bed cover. As much as she knew that she had much to handle concerning her family and work, she could not help the curiosity of trying to find out if Jordyn coming to her was just a coincidence.

Knowing how it feels to be forced to separate from her mom and not be able to know her, you’d think Ava would realize she’s doing the same to her children. The biggest difference is that her children know that she’s doing it. She’s being just as selfish as Anna.
