Good morning Miss Mayeliâ, Killianâs maid, Justina, greeted Mayeli as she entered the dining room.As you might have guessed, it's the weekend already, and they were on the first day of their Staycation.Mayeli looked around Killianâs vacation house for the eighteenth time. It was more than gorgeous. The house was a huge three-story building, mostly made of transparent glass and painted sparkling white. Its environment was serene, surrounded by colourful flowers and lush green grass. There was also a pool on the first and second floors.âGood morning, where are the others?â Mayeli replied, taking a seat. The large table was filled with delicious-looking cuisine.âThey're still in their roomsâ, Justina replied.âAlrightâ, Mayeli said, grabbing a plate. She started to put a piece of cheesecake on the plate when she heard footsteps. She turned to see Killian. He froze just like her, when he noticed her presence.âI didn't know you were going to be here. I came in late last night, and Ty
Mayeli sat under the Canopy watching the others swim. She was feeling weird and slightly irritated. Not angry, just mostly empty. She watched Killian saying something to Truce and Tyse, and then laughing loudly. It had been so long since she saw him that way. She couldn't take her eyes off him. KillianHe turned to her, and their gaze locked. She quickly looked away, ignoring the sudden acceleration of her heartbeat. Why was he staring?âYou should come into the water, Mayeli, it's so coolâ, Tyse screamed, laughing.âI'm goodâ, Mayeli said, tapping on her phone, and pretending to be busy. Killian was still staring, though the smile was no longer on his face.Killian walked out of the pool, and went to seat on one of the benches. Mayeli saw Justina running to give him a towel. She was a beautiful, thick woman, probably Mayeli's age. Justina attempted to dab Killian's body with the towel, but he snatched it from her. Mayeli couldn't hear what she was saying to Killian, but looked like
There was a pin-drop silence in the meeting room as though there was no one present, though fifteen people were seated in a circle, a large table in their middle.Killian sat at the head of the table listening to the speech of his chief operating officer, a man in his late forties. He squeezed the pen in his hands, his irritation growing with each passing second. There was a two-foot gap between Killian and the others in the room, like he was infected with some transmittable infection, but that was simply how he liked it. He was a lonely person, and he mostly never thought about it or needed anyone but his friends, until he met Mayeli. And now she had tossed him away, and left him to wallow in regret without even seeing it fit to tell him her reason.Although Killian exuded a fearful aura, the females in the boardroom kept stealing glances. He was wearing a sky blue shirt rolled up at the sleeves. The first two buttons of his shirt were left undone, revealing the tattoo on his chest.
Tyse eased his brilliant black Rolls-Royce inside the parking lot of Killian's vacation house. Soft music could be heard coming from inside the house.âI guess your party has started without youâ, Killian said to Tyse dryly.Tyse smirked. âYou're coming, right?ââCount me out on this oneâ. Killian opened the car door, and stepped out. He was in no mood for a party. His anger had dissipated, but he wanted to be alone, locked and secured from all the chaos going on in his mind at the moment. He walked past the crowded sitting room filled with people he barely cared about, and headed for the stairs. He was on the sixth stairs when he perceived her fragrance before he saw her.Mayeli. She was dressed in a long, white, body-hugged, strapless gown that did nothing to hide her alluring curves. Her blonde hair was parted in the middle and left to fall down her waist, and the slit of her gown stopped way above her thighs. It was too revealing for his liking. On her feet was a pair of silver he
Mayeli made her way up the stairs, her heels making click clack sounds on the polished floor, and her hips swaying gracefully with each step. She hadn't been to his room since they came to the vacation house, two days ago, and she was curious to see what it looked like.It was on the third floor, away from every other person's room, since they had all taken the second floor, only Killian lived on the third floor. Back at his normal house, he was the only one who lived on the third floor too, perhaps he loved being alone.Mayeli climbed the stairs leading to the third floor, and she was stunned. It was as though the third floor was a different house entirely. In contrast to the bright white color of the first two floors, the third floor was monochrome, black and white. Several lovely paintings hung on the wall, and Mayeli paused each time to run her hands over them. She didn't know Killian loved art. There was a lot she didn't know about him yet.His hall was so quiet that she heard t
Playing Fire on Fire by Sam Smith in the background.Killian stared down at Mayeli's delicate frame, not knowing what to do. She wanted sex now from him because she was drunk, but he was certain she would hate him afterwards. He had no intention of taking advantage of her.âMayeli, please you should sleepâ, Killian mumbled through his teeth. Her body was already such an appealing site, that he wasn't sure if he could restrain himself if she kept up with the act. Gosh, she was so damn irresponsible.Mayeli's face crumbled into a pout. âYou don't want me? Am I unattractive now? You've lost interest in me?â Killian shut his eyes, trying his best not to let her words get to his head. âMayeli, everything about you is turning me on right now, but I don't think this is rightâ.âFine, I shouldn't have come in the first placeâ, Mayeli said, standing up from the bed. She was almost at the door when his strong hands gripped her waist. He spun her to face him.âWhere are you going?â He asked him
Mayeli woke up to the rays of light hitting her eyes. She rubbed her sleepy eyes, trying to remember where she was. Her head banged as she tried to sit up, so she lay down back, removing her hair from her face, even the movement hurt her head.Slowly, her eyes adjusted to the environment. It looked strange, and she was sure she hadn't been here before, but it smelt familiar, like Killian.Mayeli gasped as the flashback of last night hit her. Hed eyes darted to the white sheets covering her, and she peeped under. She bit her lips when she remembered she had slept with Killian.Guilt, followed by shame, and a little bit of anger washed her. What had she been thinking when she came to his room?Mayeli pulled herself up, ignoring the banging in her head. She had to go to her room before he returned to the bed.The headache was almost blinding her vision as she stumbled to her feet. âYou should rest a bit, and take the soup I made for you. It would help with the headacheâ, Mayeli heard K
Mayeli stared out of her window at the peaceful view of the world in front of her. It was just 7 am, but everyone was already busy. Maids were running around Killian's vacation house, cleaning and gossiping. Two men were mowing the lush grass surrounding the house, and birds were chirping happily. Mayeli couldn't remember the last time she stood to observe the break of a new day.She sighed wearily and walked to her gorgeous walk-in closet. She was going for therapy today. Tyse had been persuading her for a while, and she finally decided to give in. Therapy wasn't such a big deal anyway.Mayeli got dressed in black baggy jeans, and a white T-shirt. She styled her hair to fall down her back, and put on white sneakers, and went to apply light makeup. When she was satisfied with her look, she picked her black Zara purse, and headed to find Tyse.âMayeli loveâ, Tyse said, when Mayeli reached the dining room.Tyse was dressed in simple black trousers and a white shirt and his hair was pac
Kreed laughed and stood up. He picked up the baseball bat he had been holding and threw it to Tyse.âBeat Killian to death with it, and Iâd let you live. You did nothing to offend me, did you?âMayeliâs eyes widened.âWhat?â Tyse asked.âYou know itâs either you or him, right? Or mostly both. So why donât you save yourself?âMayeli thought of what to do to buy time. Of course, no one was coming to save them, since Kreed said he had taken care of the police, but she had no other option. She couldnât watch what was about to happen. Sheâd rather die first.âKreed, when did you become this evil? Thereâs still a way out of this, you donât have to commit more murders.âKreed laughed for a long time, and when he stopped, he faced Mayeli. âThe day your father burnt down my family, he created an unrepentant monster. I only trained the monster. First I worked with the CIA, then with the FBI, then as a special intelligence security agent, and when I was convinced I had learnt everything I wanted
Mayeli and Killian turned to see Kreed standing a few feet from them. He was wearing the same outfit he had been wearing this morning before she had left him. Black turtle-neck top, black trousers, black boots and a dark brown long coat. But this time there was something different. He was wearing black gloves. But that wasnât it. What was he doing here? How did he know she was here? She told no one.Kreed took a step forward, and Killian immediately reached for his pocket.Kreed was faster. âLet me borrow your words. I wonât dare if I were in your shoes because Iâll shoot you down without hesitation. Now rid yourself of your weapons and donât try to play smart.âKillian did as he was told.Mayeli couldnât believe her ears. This was Kreed, right? Or did he have a twin? Or perhaps was this a replica of him? Or cloning? She didnât understand. Why was Kreed pointing a gun at them?âKreed. Whatâs happening? I donât understand.â But Mayeli was beginning to understand. She recognized the loo
âYou should drive faster!â Killian barked at Tyse.âAt this rate, weâd probably die in an accident before we get to her,â Truce screamed.Killian turned to him. âDo you deserve to live?âTruce shook his head. âNo. Tyse, drive faster!âHe was still mad at his friends for abandoning Mayeli when he was away for the stupid reasons they gave. He had trusted them to take care of her while he was away, but they had done just the opposite. They had begged and apologized severally, but he wasnât forgiving them yet. Heâd make them work for their forgiveness, and so far, theyâve been doing just that.âMaybe you should take the wheel!â Tyse barked at Truce. âIâll drive faster, Killian,â he replied, Killian with a smile.âIf that bitch, Shaila so much as touch my woman, I wonât hesitate to strangle her with my handsâ, Killian said through his teeth. How could he have missed the signs? He had known Shaila wasnât the sister she pretended to be, and he had known she was still obsessed, but he didnât
âI donât understand,â Mayeli said, carefully. Shaila was getting drunk, and Mayeli feared what she would do to her. At the moment, she wasnât the woman Mayeli had known all her life, she was a wounded animal seeking blood.âI met Killian in our second grade. He was two levels higher than me, so we never really talked. Everyone loved him, everyone wanted him, and I wanted him more than any of them. And one day, I went home after school and he was with his parents in our house. Father had introduced them as his friends and ours, and had told us they were going to have dinner with us.I still remembered how overjoyed I had been that day. I had asked my maid, Nisha, to make me the prettiest little girl ever, and during dinner, I did everything to get Killianâs attention, but he didnât care. He didnât even notice my hair or dress or anything, but I didnât give up. After dinner, he talked to me, he told me my dress was pretty and he liked my tiara. I was so overjoyed that I couldnât sleep t
Mayeli typed Killianâs office floor number on the elevator keypad, 67.She could hardly wait as the box took her upwards. She hadn't met Killian since that day at the mall and she couldn't wait to see him. Her heart was racing already, and she could feel a hunger in her lower belly, a hunger he had awakened. The elevator stopped and the doors slid open. Mayeli stepped out eagerly, heading for the last building on the floor. When she reached, she rang Killianâs office doorbell. No one answered. She rang it again, but nothing. Thankfully, she knew the key pass.âI'm coming in,â she said, and pushed the door open. Surprisingly, the office was empty. The office was just the way Mayeli remembered, the same. White high walls, one glass wall showing off the breathtaking view of the City of London, a large oak table and a chair behind it and two in front. A mini-parlour of four black cushions and a white table, and lastly a glass shelf holding Killian's books, magazines, trophies, and aw
Mayeli braided the last strand of her sisterâs hair slowly, listening to Bryelleâs tale of her latest BTS crush, Jungkook, and laughing. Her daughter was crushing on celebrities already.âI have a shoot with V soon, he might not be your favourite, but you should come,â Shaila said.Bryelle shook her head. âI want just him, no one else.âShaila laughed. âSuit yourself.â She turned to Mayeli. âBe fast would braids, babe, I need to be somewhere soon.âShaila had been going out more frequently recently, and she never said where she was going, no matter how many times Mayeli asked. Mayeli decided to let her be. She would come around when she wanted to.The doorbell rang, and Bryelle went to get it. She returned a few minutes later.âMom, itâs Kreed.â She walked past them into her room. Shaila turned to Mayeli with a stupid smile on her face. âYour husband is calling.âMayeli frowned, tossing her hair behind her. âHis not my husband, stop with the joke.âShaila laughed. âI have somewhere t
Killian covers the distance between him and Mayeli. She looked so flawless, so beauty more than he had remembered. Just a glimpse of her took his breath away, just a glimpse of her rose his hunger so intense that he hardly had control over it.He covered her slim waist with his arms and took in a breath of her.âKillian?â She called, her voice shocked. âIs this real? Am I hallucinating? Howâs this even possible?âShe started to check his body. âAre you real? Are you hurt or burnt?â Tears were already flowing down her pale cheeks again. âHowâs this possible. Am I losing it?âKillian knew she had too many questions, but he couldnât explain, not yet. He was here to warn her and he didnât have much time.He turned her to face him and almost regretted it when his eyes fell on her fleshy, exposed, full and ready for him. He shook his head; just being near her drove him crazy, and it had been so long. He had watched from a distance and longed for her, but it wasnât yet time. He had to think
âYou should be careful,â Kreed said, helping Mayeli out of the car.Mayeli chuckled. âIâm careful as I am. Youâre the unnecessarily worried one.âHe had been fusing over her for months now since she got out of bed. She was fine now, but he wonât leave her. He was always by her side, and sometimes she wondered when he had time for himself.Bryelle came to Mayeliâs side. She pecked her. âIâll see you later Mom, my friends are waiting.â She ran off before Mayeli could say a word. They were meant to eat dinner together after shopping for clothes, but she had come up with excuses that she had to meet up with her friends.âSheâs growing up so fast,â Kreed said, laughing.Mayeli turned to him. Today was his girlfriendâs birthday, but he had been with her all day. âArenât you going to meet Sonia?âThe smile faded from Kreedâs handsome face. âWe met before I came by this morning.âMayeli sighed. She knew Kreed had feelings for her, but she had no way to confront them. She wasnât interested in
Mayeli slowly opened her heavy eyelids and tried to understand her environment. The smell of anthesptic filled her nostrils and her lungs burned. Her throbbed and her body felt as stiff as a log of wood. She tried turning, but her body had a mind of its own. The bright light streaming from the windows blinded her weak vision. She recognized the room after a while, it was her room, but why was she strapped to a bed, and why were there several equipment attached to her body? She couldnât move or think; her whole body throbbed. The door opened and a familiar face walked in. She looked older, though. Mayeli tried to remember and slowly, her memory returned.Bryelle, her daughter. She tried to call her name, but her voice came out as a low whisper; even that effort was painful. Bryelle rushed to her side. She was wearing a short black skirt and a pink jacket. Her was packed in a high bun. She looked different, dazzling, and all grown up, not the little girl Mayeli had known.âMom, youâre
