AVA.
I rest my head on the rolled up window, relishing the feeling of finally leaving The Kincaids. Alpha Gavin was the one driving with my bike in the trunk of his car and Andrea beside me. Aurelia and her boyfriend, the beta were driving in a Jeep behind us and I knew they kept a close distance because of Alpha Gavin and his orders to keep us three close. “What music do you girls listen to?” Alpha Gavin asks looking at me through the rearview mirror. “Anything… R&B?” I shrugged trying to remember the last time I listened to music. He sighed putting on one of Bey's music for me. It lightened my mood as I bopped in my seat for the first part of the song and then singing along to the chorus. In a little less than two hours we were at the GreenValley Pack's border, a vast land with one glasshouse in the centre. The men in front of the border gave Alpha Gavin a thumbs up as he drove through the territory. The green forest we were driving through gave way to tall buildings and from the appearance of the place, I could guess that it was a non-residential area. In another thirty minutes we were at a large mansion, painted white and in the middle of a fairly large field. “This is the pack house,” Alpha Gavin said and added just before getting down from the car,“Wake your sister up.” I hissed through my teeth and tapped Andrea awake.“We are here already,” I said as soon as she blinked her eyes open. “Ohh...” She was amazed at the difference between the pack and the human city in which we had lived. “The alpha is waiting for us, Andrea,” I reminded her when I saw that she was not in hurry to get out of the car, just viewing her surroundings. When we got down, we met the alpha with a middle aged woman, Aurelia and Beta Jacob standing beside him. “This is my to be Luna,” Alpha Gavin grinned, pointing to the beautiful lady beside him. “Good evening Luna...” I trailed off on purpose since I didn't know her name. “Annette and please remove the Luna title, I'm not yet a Luna.” She replied, blushing slightly. “Still, you are going to be my Luna,” I shrugged turning back to Alpha Gavin. “You said to wanted to have a talk with us when we still in the city.” I reminded him. “That will be during dinner. I had Annette prepare a five-course meal to welcome you girls.” He replied. I blushed. I have never been given such attention and it was wierd to be getting it now. “So why don't we go in and let me show you my skills at cooking.” She gave a mock bow and led us into the mansion... or rather, packhouse. When we got into the building, Alpha Gavin led his Luna and Beta to his private elevator and ordered us to follow the one just opposite his.We got to the third floor in no time and he showed us around the house that was painted white all around. The floor was tiled with black marble and the walls were filled with paintings and pictures. “What don't you girls eat and then go unpack and check out your rooms.” Annette said and gave one of her wide smiles,“I had them decorated pink... yunno, for girls?” “It's fine, ma. My best colours are black and pink, actually,” I replied quietly, hoping Andrea and Alia won't think I'm being too forward,“Secondly, we don't have anything to unpack. We came empty handed.” “Really? I'll add a touch of black to yours then.” She grinned widely. “I'm famished, Annette. Can we eat now?” Alpha Gavin asked leading the way to the already set dining table.– – – – – When we were done eating, Annette suggested we watch a movie so she and the alpha cuddled on the sofa, as well as beta Jake and Aurelia. Andrea was in her room already and I decided to watch some more of the movie before I go to sleep. Soon, I heard an excited squeal from the hallway. I was the only one nice enough to go check on Andrea and I met her on her bed looking flushed. “I can't believe I have this room all to myself. It's like a dream come through, why don't you go check yours,” She didn't even let me talk, rambling on about everything she's seen in the room. “I better check mine,” I muttered walking down the hallway.I took out the key Annette gave me and opened the door to reveal a marvelously furnished room. The walls to my room were textured a dusty pink paint. The floor tiled with the same marble in the living room was covered at the centre with a plush pink rug. My queen sized bed had black and brown bedding already laid out. There was also a floor-length window that was covered in black and pink organza curtains. Just opposite my window was a reading table with a few novels on it and two diaries with a fancy pen as well.My candle collection was by the head board of my bed with a vanity table and small stool few metres away from the door. A large wardrobe filled with trendy clothes stood beside a door, probably the bathroom.I squealed in excitement but I have to thank Alpha Gavin and Luna Annette first, then I can check out the other insignificant things I may not have seen.I came out of my room, locked the door and went back to the living room. “Alpha Gavin? Luna Annette?” I called looking down at the floor. “Yes?” Annette answered in that sweet voice of hers. “I just wanted to thank you for taking us in and for arranging our rooms. I also noticed the wordrobe,” I muttered the last part with a shy smile. “It's fine, dear. Are you Ava?” She asked. I smiled, “Yes ma.” I replied. People usually mistook us for the other so I always did my hair into a bun, Andrea also styled hers in a ponytail and Alia allowed her hair to flow downwards… she even dyed it at times. “Yes, Ava! We are very happy to have new pack members and we may initiate you into the pack, if you want,” She said turning to the alpha. “Of course if they want,” I just nodded and went back to my room.I jumped on my bed turning on the bedside lamp so I could go through the novels on the table before I go to sleep. I'm finally out of the big city, away from Coleen and her husband. I may not have to wake up at four am in this house. I fell into deep sleep cherishing the large bed I now had.AXEl.I arrived at the border of my pack after passing a shortcut. The Sin City. They were known for accepting all kinds of mammals in their city. Werewolves, vamps, humans.. You name it. One thing they repelled were the hybrids. Even though many species lived in the city, they were not allowed to mate with other species apart from theirs. ‘Where the fuck are you, Ivan?’ I asked through a mindlink. I don't have the key to my apartment as I gave them to him when we left for Green Valley. How does he expect me to come in? 'For someone who abandoned his pack, you are pretty bold.' He says. Groaning, I bang on the door to the pack house. Won't he show himself? “Hey! Don't break down that door.” Carlos says and I turn to look at him leaning against the pillar, blending with the shadows. No wonder I didn't see him there, the fucker was as smooth as silk. “I do just that if you don't open the damn door this minute.” I let out a menacing growl. He just walks to the door and opens i
AXEL.I sat at my desk in my room with my phone and a jotter trying to come up with a plan for the fuckers that want to wage war on the werewolf race. I haven't told anyone, not even Gavin because I don't need any help. I'm capable. I've been protecting the rogues all my life, on my own and this will not be an exception... I just need to find a strategy. Ivan called my yesterday and there was a wolf found dead with a letter in his hands. He was a warrior of our pack and was murdered during patrols that night. I told Ivan to send me the picture of this late warrior and the letter in his hands. I'm looking at the body and there’s something off about it... It looks alot as though the guy committed suicide. He had his eyes tightly shut and his fucking mouth was blown up. He was shot in the mouth or rather, someone shot him in the mouth. I'm not going to make any conclusions yet but a gun wasn't found at the scene. If he shot himself, his fucking soul didn't do away with the gun, did
AVA I woke up with a groan unhappy at the voice that woke me up... Andrea! I switched off my alarm yesterday because today is a Sunday but here she comes at seven, pulling my duvet away from my legs.“Can you have some decency to knock before coming in,” I hissed as I got up from my bed.“Gavin needs your attention in his office, now,” She said, turning on her heel to leave my room.“It's alpha to you.” I scoffed and waved her away. “I'll be down in half an hour.”I brushed my teeth, going into the shower and took my bath. After washing my hair, I wrapped a towel around myself and went over to my walk-in closet to choose clothes. The weather was cold so I wore a t shirt and tied my favourite blue cardigan around my waist as I was still warm from my bath. Wearing a pair of ripped jeans beneath the cardigan, I walked out of my room after looking the door. I had swapped the blush powder yesterday night while Andrea joined the Luna to watch a movie in the living room. Unexpectedly, it w
AXEL. I was still looking through the things in the delta apartment when a voice came in my head. ‘Can you pick me up from school today. Please?’ It was Andrea and in as much as I was still a tad bit angry at her, she was my mate and we had an agreement before now. I'm not going to break a promise because of a minor issue that we had this morning. I never break promises and I'm not going to break one now… ‘Okay.’ I said coldly, looking at my watch. It was already 3 PM and I know classes had ended thirty minutes earlier. She had probably debated on calling on me, for a long time. Dropping the stack of books I had been skimming through, I grab my jacket and head out of the apartment, making sure it was locked properly before leaving. I don't want anyone looking through my father's stuff. That made me think… was anyone allowed access into the apartment while I was away? If Gavin allowed that, then he didn't have an ounce of respect for my parents. I switched the ignition of the ca
AURELIAI'm in the kitchen, helping Aunty Kat prepare some dishes that she wants Granny Adeline to take with her as she leaves the house. Granny Ada hates Jake and the fact that I'm his girlfriend irks her so much that she wants to leave as soon as fucking possible. One thing the old hag doesn't know is that I don't give a flying fuck if she’s in the house or not. Maybe I do, because she has made my life a living hell. Alongside her goddamn grandson, Allen who doesn't have two brain cells to rub together. He uses any mistake I make to question my existence and he never fails to bring Jake into it. I wonder why Alpha Gavin had not looked into this because the bullying is getting out of hand. Maybe he is not aware that Allen had this amount of hatred for omegas, he thinks he is a good head warrior who is quiet and cold to everyone but he is actually a meanie and I'm growing to hate him! If I didnt know better that staying at the pack house is not an option, I’d have left the hou
ANDREA.I practically ran out of my class, the minute I heard the bell. Those were definitely the longest hours of my life and for the first time, I’m glad that we can have lunch breaks in the hostels. Leonie is a boarder so I can convince her to take me to her hostel for us to have our lunch. I want to get away from everyone and shy away from the annoying questions that they ask. Oh! There's another one…“Hey 'Drea. Did you find your mate?”The girl asked, trying to keep up a pace with me. “It's none of your business.” I snap at her. I'm not a rude person but they are getting very clingy and annoying. A little birdie probably circulated the news that I’m mated to an alpha and now, they want to hear from the horse's mouth. I won't give them that privilege though. The girl has shied away and I hear running footsteps behind me. The scent hits me before I even see her and I smile, standing for a while so she could catch up. “I can't believe our timetable. We don't even have classes f
