Keira silently watched as Callum dropped the phone.

She had followed him back to his study only to witness him being on call with her father.

“Is that my father?” She proceeded to ask.

Callum turned to look at her, a little shocked to see her standing behind him.

“Yes.” He muttered, slowly taking off his shirt, now that he was far away from the silver, his wounds had begun to slowly heal.

“Why?” Keira asked innocently.

“Did anything happen?” She asked.

Callum turned his head to her, before looking at the wall clock.

“Look, it’s almost nine, go freshen up and try to take a rest.” He muttered.

Keira didn’t move, she looked at him silently.

Callum loosened his belt, preparing to take his trousers off when he noticed her still standing there.

“What are you still doing there?” He muttered.

“You didn’t answer my question…” she muttered.

Callum sighed.

“Look I’m still trying to understand what is happening okay…” He grumbled.

  • The Chosen Mate Of The Lycan King   Chapter 42

Callum walked through the forest, walking even silently as he walked on wet leaves. He slowly looked around the forest for any signs of danger. It was early morning. The previous evening’s search had been interrupted, so he had set out at dawn again. The cold was sharp, and his breath was fogged as he led a small group of patrolmen through the forest. The second-in-command patrolman, Officer Ryk, was walking beside him. Behind them was Jackson, who was struggling to keep up with them. He had left guard life behind a year ago, and now he wasn’t used to it again. The fight at Jackson’s house months ago, over Konan’s doubts about Keira, was something neither of them wanted to talk about, but there was still this awkward tension between them. It had left a quiet bruise between them. When Jackson had heard about what happened to Keira he had called him and suggested going hunting with him in the morning, he had told his wife he was going to the market. They were hunting for the rogues w

The cell was cold, the kind of cold that went deep into Asher’s bones and made him shiver with his arm wrapped around his chest. Asher sat on the edge of the bed, his back against the wall, one leg stretched out, the other bent. His hands were on his lap, but his fingers tapped his knees restlessly, as if they remembered the blood he had spilled. He didn’t know how to feel.Asher lay back, his mind taking him back to that night, weeks ago, when everything had begun.Right after the rogue queen assumed power and he had been sent to Moonclaw as a spy.He was the right man for the job, fluent in the two languages, and he also didn’t look like a rogue. He had been so careful, living among Moonclaw for a year, he had built a life on lies, lies that he thought no one could ever find the truth. He had smiled at their feasts and made friends with them at the market where he sold chicken. He even laughed at their rogue jokes, all while feeding scraps of Moonclaw’s secrets to the Rogue Quee

“Your highness, your family is here.” The guard repeated.Keira slowly nodded as the guard turned and walked away. She turned to Annie who was looking at her silently.“Your family, your highness? Did they inform you?” She asked.Keira slowly shook her head.“Callum invited them…” she muttered feeling devastated.“Well then we have to get you cleaned and dressed up, they can’t see you looking like this, it would cause a bad look for the pack,” Annie said, as she began to pull her away while holding the empty metal tray. “Come on, Your Highness, let’s get you to your chambers quickly.”Keira’s heart sank, her eyes turned dull, her hands shaking as she followed Annie down the corridor, dragging her leg on the floor.“I don’t care how I look, Annie,” she muttered, looking down depressed.“They’re not here for me.. I know that.” She muttered.Annie paused, and turned to her. “Your Highness, you’re the Luna,” she said, her cheeks still pink from her earlier talk about Asher. “You have t

The silver steel door was wide open. The smell in the room had changed, it smelt of the stench of blood, Asher was sitting in the center, his eyes looked dull, his hair looked scattered, his leather jacket was torn, and his hands were stained red. The three rogues lay dead around him, their throats slashed, with blood pouring out.Callum looked around in disbelief. He could see Keira, Annie, and the patrol officers looking even more shocked than him.Callum slowly took a step forward, his eyes fixed on Asher. “You killed them,” he whispered, still shocked.“Three rogues, locked in with you, and you’re the one breathing. How?” He asked looking at him in shock.Asher slowly looked up at him.“Your Highness,” he said, his eyes on Callum’s face.“They came for me, I fought back and I got lucky, that’s all.” He muttered.Keira immediately rushed to Asher’s side, kneeling by his side, her hands around his.“Asher, you’re alive!” she said, her voice breaking. “I was so scared when I saw y

Callum stood outside the silver steel door, his sword on the table stained with blood. His arm and side were still hurt from the rogue fight, and his eyes were filled with anger. The cell block’s hall was packed with patrolmen. Most of them had their swords drawn out, ready for the worst, and their eyes were filled with fear. The air was filled with sweat and blood. The patrol officer from earlier, Tor’s second in command, walked around the room barking orders.Keira stood silently nearby, her grey top was torn, and her eyes were wet from crying, it annoyed Callum because he couldn’t understand why she was crying, was he that important to her?She and her maid looked so worried about him.Everyone’s eyes were on the thick silver door, that locked the three rogues, Kael, Torv, and Yul, inside with Asher. The door had been built with pure silver to trap criminal wolves from escaping which meant none of them could break it or shift. They had to employ locksmiths to do the job.Callum
