I stared at him in shock because it was a fact that there was no certain reason not to believe what he was saying right now. He seemed like the type to go directly for what he wanted and not hide it. But on the other hand, there was still no reason for me to believe him.

I didn't know this person. He had lived all his life in Switzerland and just came back on a whim. Why was he back here when the time for the will reading was so close? I was still suspicious.

"And you expect me to believe that? You expect me to believe you got attacked too?" I said.

"Believe it or not, it doesn't change the truth," he said, looking like he was bored of our interaction.

His arrogance made me feel irritated to my core.

"What game are you playing at, Liam? Why come back at all when you never acknowledged your roots to our family?" I shot at him.
