LEENA'S POV

Zack's words rang out in my ears through out the rest of the occasion. I had not expected anything less from him. I knew that this relationship was going to be my torture.

Yet, I did not know exactly how far he was willing to go to make life miserable for me. I pretended as much as o could through out the reception dinner.

I was the perfect bride, wearing fake smiles and being courteous towards everyone. All the while I walked about, my eyes twitched. I knew something was wrong somehow.

It was obvious that I was either going to be embarrassed by Zack, or perhaps something a bit more intense was going to happen. But that was fine, I am Leena Davis, and standing strong in the face of difficulties is my greatest strength.

"Leena! Wow, finally, you and Zack got married. Isn't that nice? I mean from the way you used to leech all over him back in school, it was obvious to everyone that you just wanted him for yourself. I guess you can never be too wrong about a desperate woman." Linda said.

Linda, Zack's High school ex-girlfriend. How was I not surprised that his exes had been invited to the wedding. I stood still in front of her while she spoke inaudibly to me because I had effortfully tuned her out.

My eyes searched the room for the man of the hour, but he was nowhere to be found. Few moments ago, I had seen him flirting with a girl at the bar, but now, he was no longer there, and neither was the girl.

I turned away from Linda, as though she had not been there at all or even spoken to me.

"Leena darling, why are you looking around so stressed? The guests are becoming tired and asking questions. Where is Zack?" Karina, Zack's older sister asked me.

I looked around nervously, tired, unsure of what was going on or where he could have gone. I was not surprised that he was with a girl, but he would not have left the house without telling anyone, would he?

At lease not while he knew there were a lot of people just waiting for the ceremony of the cake to take place.

"I don't know, Karina. I haven't seen him. I have been searching all over for him but to no avail." I replied. Worry and anxiety began to fill my head. I was not going to be embarrassed like this in front of all these people, now was I?

"What do you mean you can't find him? He was supposed to be with you? What is really going on with you two?" She asked me. I did not look at her or respond.

I simply allowed my eyes continue to roam. Zack was really going to do this to me. I called his phone severally but he didn't pick up. On the sixth call, he switched off his phone.

I paced around the hall lile a mad woman who had lost her cat. Karina searched the entire house, while guests stopped me occasionally to say hi to me

I smiled for the cameras which surrounded me. The daughter of a billionaire and the son of a billionaire were getting married, of course the press had surrounded everywhere. Journalists had surrounded the entire building and I stood there, in my wedding dress, nervous and alone.

I saw my Father heading for the entrance and immediately ran up to him, hoping he could help me figure this out.

"Father! Father! There is..."

"Baby girl, I am so sorry right now, but I have to leave. I just received an emergency call from the office and I am certain your reception will go beautifully well. Hey, look at me, look at me." He said cradling my face in his hands.

"The worse is over, okay? You have gotten married now and the deal will be sealed. I love you." He kissed my forehead and rushed off, without listening to a word I had to say. I let out deep gasps of air, as my lungs suddenly filled with it.

The rush was inevitable, and I knew that if I did not control my thoughts, I would have an attack, and I did not want that to happen.

I stepped aside, and calmed my nerve. "You can handle this, everything is settled." I whispered to myself."

"It is time for the bride and Groom to cut the cake!" Those words. At the sound of those words, I immediately panicked.

Luckily for me, Karina handled everything, she made up some excuse that settled the cutting of the cake, and that was how the rest of the night went easily.

For the rest of the night, I did not set my eyes on Zack. I let out a huge sigh as I watched the decorators pack up their items.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I thought about how horribly the one most special day in a woman's life had gone for me. This was supposed to be my special day. My one fairytale moment, but I had lost that as well.

As if it wasn't bad enough that my best friend now considered me his mortal enemy.

"Hey Leena, you should go get some rest. I believe Zack would be at the hotel probably waiting for you. I know my brother, he can be a little bit out of sorts some times, but he wouldn't miss a good night with a beautiful woman." She said to me.

I almost scoffed out loud. Had i simply been reduced to a good night?

I did not respond. Instead I quietly nodded at her and went outside to where my driver had parked the car, and stood waiting for me.

Just like father had said, I believed the worse was over. All I had to do now was return to the hotel and get some rest. Even if it was just for tonight, but I did not expect that my nightmare was yet to be over.

The first thing I perceived was the intense smoke coming from underneath the room door, and as I got closer to the door, I heard moaning sounds from outside the hotel door, but I wasn't sure what was going on, until I pushed the door.

I waved the clouds of smoke away, as I held my hands to my nose, and then I saw them. She was riding him like a horse.

"Yes! Yes! Harder baby! Yes! I'm coming baby! Yes!" Kara shouted.

Zack had his hands on her breasts, moaning and enjoying the feel of her.

His eyes met with mine, and that was when I saw it, a dreadful look in his eyes that sent shivers down my body ... Satisfaction.

Mr. and Mrs. StanfordThe gentle tinkle of old silverware resonated throughout the majestic Stanford manor as sunlight streamed through the historic stained glass. The residence, brimming with elegance and serene opulence, appeared to pause this morning. Allhad transformed, but still, all stayed the same.At the heart of it all, positioned at the breakfast table like monarchs in their realm, were Mr. and Mrs. Stanford.Eloise Stanford, majestic and timeless in her silk gown, quietly savored her tea. Her previously stern expression was gentled by something unusual—fondness. She rarely spoke, but when she did, her words sliced like glass or flowed like honey. And this morning, it was sweet syrup.Opposite her was Jonathan Stanford, tall and poised in his crisp shirt, observing her with subtle admiration. Time had etched deeper lines into his face, yet it hadn’t diminished the spark in his eyes—not when he gazed at her."I noticed how you gazed at her," Eloise finally remarked, softly pl

LEENAThe gentle glow of the chandelier enveloped the lofty suite in a warm golden hue, its shadows softly swaying over the satin linens. Leena stood next to the floor-to-ceiling window, her fingers gently touching the glass, her silk robe drapingfreely around her figure. The city thrummed down below, a mix of activity and noise, yet up here—everything was quiet. She listened to the door shut quietly behind her. His steps had become recognizable by now. Stable. Leisurely. Ownership. Ethan.“I figured you could still be sleeping,” he remarked, his voice deep, smooth yet rough like velvet, resonating in her chest. He was without a shirt, towel resting on one shoulder, his skin moist from the shower. He resembled a portrait created bya man crafted not only from strength but from an unmistakable, powerful presence."I was unable to sleep," Leena whispered, still not facing around. “Not with everything in my mind.”He moved nearer, positioning himself directly behind her, so near that she

LeenaThe quiet between them was heavy with words left unsaid.Moonlight flowed in through the balcony doors, creating silver shadows throughout the room. Leena positioned herself by the window in her silk robe, clutching her arms around her waist as if to keep herself intact. The aroma of night jasmine wafted in from the garden, yet even its sweetness couldn’t overshadow the pain in her heart.Ethan's footsteps were soft on the hardwood floors behind her.“Leena,” he whispered gently, his tone strained with uncertainty. She did not turn. Her image in the mirror appeared pale and quivering, with eyes surrounded by unshed tears. "You ought to have informed me," she murmured."I was unsure how," he said. His truthfulness was keenly penetrating in its straightforwardness."You were gone for two days, Ethan." No phone calls. No messages. "I believed you were gone."“I attempted to keep you safe.”“By leaving me?” Her voice heightened, heavy with the tempest of feelings that had accumulate

  • The Contracted Alliance; Accidental Marriage    Chapter 67

Leena’s POVThe gentle patter of rain on the windows was the sole noise in the serene penthouse suite. The city lights created a golden glow on the marble floor, and the fragrance of sandalwood hung in the air, bringing back memories of Ethan—of all that I had previously attempted to erase, and now discovered myself holding onto.He stood near the window, wearing a grey shirt with rolled-up sleeves, his eyes far away as if observing the rain narratingour history against the dark sky. I could still savor his kiss, sense the shake in my knees from his earlier touch. The universe may have plotted to separate us, yet in this instant, nothing else was important.I stood up from the plush armchair and walked to him without shoes. My fingers glided over his forearm before I encircled them around his hand. He didn’t glance at me right away. He no longer hurried—he remained patient. For my approval. For my reality. And perhaps, just perhaps, for the barriers I constructed to ultimately collaps

  • The Contracted Alliance; Accidental Marriage    Chapter 66

Leena’s POVThe fire softly crackled in the background. Outside, the storm created silver streams along the windows, but Leena hardlynoticed it now. Her world had contracted to the heat of Ethan’s touch and the gaze in his eyes as though he perceived only her.He moved nearer.“I recall both,” Ethan whispered. “What I recall best is you laughing uncontrollably in that vineyard, causing you to dropthe wine bottle and pin the blame on me.”She chuckled once more, genuinely laughed, the noise unrestrained. "You're correct." And you accepted the responsibility. "You consistently faced the consequences for me."His face changed. “Not every time.” I ought to have taken more. I ought to have defended you when your father insistedon this marriage. "I ought to have fought more intensely."She extended her hand and softly touched his jaw. “We both erred, Ethan. However, we are present now. I wish to ceasemerely enduring this marriage. "I wish to experience it."His breath halted, as if her word

  • The Contracted Alliance; Accidental Marriage    Chapter 65

The rain had recently ceased, enveloping the city in a moist silence. Drops trickled down the window of Ethan’s penthouse like sluggish tears, mirroring the light from streetlamps and the distant buzz of late-night traffic. Within, the quietness shared by Ethan and Leena was far from hollow—it pulsed with something fragile, something that was on the verge of spilling over.Leena was by the window, her delicate fingers gliding over the foggy glass. Her white satin robe was loosely fastened at the waist, exposing the curve of her collarbone and the delicate hollow at her throat. The dim light illuminated her face perfectly, making her appear as a statue too holy to be handled.Ethan observed her from the other side of the room, sitting at the couch's edge. His elbows rested on his knees, a whiskey glass still in his hands. Yet his eyes were fixed on her, as if she were the sole anchor tying him to this reality."Aren't you going to say something?" Leena inquired, her tone gentle yet tin
