-Mina-

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was Luca. I looked at the time and it was almost 10 in the morning. “Shit.” I picked the phone up, “Hello?” I sat up, waiting for him to say something. “Oh, Hey. Frankie is on his way to get you and go get things taken care of.” I rubbed my face, yawning. “Okay, I’ll get dressed.” He hung up, saying nothing else. I grabbed a change of clothes, nothing fancy, just a pare of joggers and a crop top, and got in the shower.

I was washing the conditioner out when I heard the door open and heard Spot running back and forth. I figured it was Frankie and finished what I was doing. A few minutes later, I was getting out when he walked in. “Hey, it’s raining outside, you might want to wear something cozy.” He smiled, handing me a coffee. I laughed because I was standing there with a towel around me, and he was handing me a coffee, acting like he didn’t say something that would change everything, hours before. “Thanks. • The Cost of Saving Him   Is it a Dream?

-Mina- “Mina, when was the last time you went to the bank?” I looked at Luca, confused. “Why does that matter? I make the bank deposits weekly, sometimes twice a week.” He shook his head, “No. Not for the bar, the other bank.” I went numb, and probably pale. “How do you know about that?” “Just answer the question, how long has it been?” I shook my head, “Probably 8 years, why?” He sighed, “So you have no idea what’s sitting in that account right now, do you?” I shook my head. Why would I? ”When I last went, I told them to put everything in the savings account from my mother and father, but that was it. Haven’t thought about it since, every letter they send, I toss in a box.” That’s when it hit me. I never checked. They both left policies and stocks, and everything was there. “Shit.”Luca stood, pulling me to my feet. “Mina, did you not know you’re basically rich now?” I laughed. He couldn’t be serious. “I only had like a million in total, don’t they charge if I don’t touch it?” Fra

-Mina- I tried to stay focused on the movie, but every time his fingers moved or he adjusted his hand, it made me want him more. Either I had turned red, or he could read my mind. His hand traveled a little higher, making my breath catch in my throat. I looked down at his hand and then at him. I was met with eyes that said what the silence didn’t. I didn’t wait for him to make the move this time. I stood, pulling him up to his feet with me. I walked into the room, saying nothing. I looked back at Frankie, watching him lock the door before heading to the room. He put his hands on my waist and pushed me against the doorway, kissing me roughly. I met him with the same energy, running my fingers through his hair. He pulled back after a few seconds, lifting me and carrying me to the room. He tossed me on the bed, pulling my clothes off. His clothes were off before I blinked, at least that’s how it felt. He leaned over me, not hesitating. I could feel how hard he was when he leaned in t

-Mina- Luciano walked through the door of the bar. I fumbled for my words when he spoke. “Good morning, Mina. Brother. Thanks for calling me.” Frankie nodded. “We got a lot to do.” Luca nodded, then turned to me. “Can we talk?” I shook my head, “What’s there to talk about?” I tried to hold my voice steady, hoping I didn’t show the hurt I felt when I read his message the other night. I looked at Frankie, who nodded, then back at Luca. “Let’s go.” We walked through the kitchen, where Corey made a face at me after Luca and he exchanged words and a short talk. He started to walk out the back door when I redirected him to the apartment door. “What is this?” He asked as we walked up the stairs. Ignoring him, I followed behind, waiting until he opened the door and stepped inside. “Oh, this is nice.”I nodded, walking past him. “It is, I forgot it was here. And want everyone else to do the same.” I looked at him, realizing what I had said. He smiled slightly, “That’s fair. It is a good pla

-Mina- I started to run when I felt someone grab me from behind. “Mina, calm down, it’s just me.” It was Corey. “What the fuck just happened? Where are Rocky and Frankie? Where is my dog?” As soon as Corey let me go, he walked over to the employee bathroom and opened the door. Spot came running out. “Frankie put him in there. Rocky is hiding somewhere.” Frankie and Tony walked into the kitchen as Corey finished talking. “Hey, everyone okay?” I nodded, still not knowing what had just happened. Corey walked over to Tony, shaking his hand, “Thanks for answering.” Tony nodded, looking at him, then me. Corey left to find Rocky, leaving me, Frankie, and Tony alone. “So, is there something I should be aware of here?” he asked, looking at me and Frankie. I felt my face starting to burn, but Frankie laughed. “We can talk about that when you take them home.” He pointed to the bar and lobby. “We got a lot to talk about.” Frankie looked at me. “But first, you need to call the cops.” I started

-Mina- The dreams that came must have been good. I don’t remember falling asleep or how long I had slept for. I woke up to the sounds of laughter, men. I could only assume it was Corey, Rocky, and Frankie out there. I was listening to their laughter when I remembered what Frankie and I had done. I looked down at the blanket that covered me. “Where did this come from?” I laughed as I stood, wrapping it around me. I went looking for my bags and saw they were gone. “What?” I opened the closet, nothing. Then I walked back to the dresser, opening it to reveal all my clothes put away and some new ones. “I could get used to this.” I grabbed some clothes and started to change when the door opened, “Shit.” I almost fell when Frankie walked in. “Sorry, thought you were still asleep.” I laughed, throwing my pants and shirt on. “How come you didn’t wake me up?” I walked over to the door, looking at him. “You needed the sleep.” He smiled, wrapped his arm around me, and kissed my head. “Well, t
