Renna POV

My head was spinning as I tried to focus. There was a dull ache coming from my legs and arms, for a moment I just wanted to lie here, what was the point anyway. My grandma was okay, she was doing well, I had fulfilled my promise to my mum.

I saw Xavier crouch down his knees appearing in my view before he pushed back a few strands of my hair off of my face. He was looking at me with such concern as I just blinked looking at him. I was glad he found me, I didn’t exactly have anywhere else to go after all but I still didn’t like feeling bought and paid for.

My throat cracked as I spoke, “I will pay you back,” he just smiled at me stroking my hair. It was soothing but I still didn’t want to give in. I scrambled up to a sitting position Xavier helping to steady me as I let out a ragged breath. Another wave came over me making me want to be sick. “You don’t need to pay me back,” he offers soothingly why he is being so nice, I’m sure he said the next time we meet he wouldn’t act
