Gilbert's hand, so strong yet gentle, came to rest on Anna's eyes

"Close your eyes, Anna," he murmured with a commanding yet compassionate tone.

"Why?"

"I'll free you from the pain of losing love."

His hand, a comforting presence against her tear-stained face. And then...the magic began. Her memories of Jean - his face, his touch, his voice - started to fade. Her past with him became blurry, indistinct, like an old, faded picture.
