9. Stepping into the gates

Two days have gone by like I decades. Maybe because I was counting and anticipating for the full moon. The house went low. No troubles. Or any sort of noise from Selena. Except yesterday when she almost got into a fight with Vanessa. Maria was right. The two will definitely fight. Thank God Lady Hera was able to stop them when she overhead their argument. But then Vanessa got more insult from Lady Hera than Selena.

Before leaving the secluded place, they have warned me not to come back again. But then, what the woman said isn't making me calm. I will not sit by unless I find out something. That was why I planned to go there again. Since the gates opens on the full moon, I will take advantage of that. I finished off my work as early as I can. Maria and Vanessa will take over the cooking for the day. So I have enough time to prepare how to sneak out of the house. Without anyone knowing.

I was on my way out when I bumped into Maria. “I was on my way to meet you. Lady Hera wants to speak to us. I know what it is about. I'm so excited” I couldn't help but raised my brows at her outburst.

The rest of the girl were already gathered there as Lady Hera was seated on one of the sofas. “We’re here Lady Hera” Maria announced.

“As you all know, today the full moon will appears. So each and everyone will be present at the town hall and display their talents from there the moon goddess will choose who will be the best fit to get rank up”

I heard the girls grinning by my side. It's something good. To get more privilege that the rank you were before. Yet, my mind wasn't at that particular event. How to go about leaving if what I've been thinking of.

“I wish you all the best. You should start preparing. You have less than two hours left. The festival is starting 8pm”

“Thank you Lady Hera” Maria dragged me away to the room.

“I’m so excited. I can't wait for th festival. What skill do you intend to display there?”

“I’m not sure. We'll see when we get there. You seem so excited. Is there anything else apart from the moon goddess choosing who to get ranked up?”

“Well, there is. You know many people come together. And it happens once. Who knows I might meet my mate this time around”

Talking of mate, the thought of that have not cross my mind lately. I don't know if I still have the hope of meeting my mate someday. I forced out a smile. “I hope so”

Everybody was busy preparing for the festival. Remaining less than an hour for the event. Lady Hera has already left for the town house with Selena. We were the only ones left to finish off the rest of the work. No dinner today so we're free. Claire and Vanessa left before us. Mrs. Rosa was the last person as she'd be the one to lock the house since everyone will be at the festival. I made sure we were halfway when I stopped. “Can you go ahead. I forgot something”

“Alright. Be fast. You don't want to miss anything from the event” I offered out a smile. “If I do you will explain everything to me”

I watched her disappear toward the next path before I sauntered away straight to the gate path. Just like I did last time, I pushed the gate slowly and it opens. Without any need of waiting for the clock to strikes. Or maybe the full moon has appeared already. I look up the sky finding no sight of moon. That means there's still time before it arrives.

I felt proud at my bravenss. Even after the warning from Mrs. Marissa, Maria and them, I still went ahead breaking the rules. Great Gianna. I walk towards the same path Vito dragged me and found myself in front of the big house. “You’re here again Gianna” I muffled patting my shoulder.

Wait, I should be looking for the woman instead. I have no business with them. But how do I start looking for her when I don't know where she lives. I have no idea if there are houses around apart from the one in front of me.

“Yes. The first thing I should do is to look for her. She has all the answers to my question”

“You’re here again” I literally flinch at her voice. My heart raced as I turned around and my gaze landed on her. “I was almost out of it for a minute”

“Why are you here again. I thought I told you not to come back” She said marching forward with her crooked stick.

My eyes darted left to right. “Let’s say my curiosity led me here. Knowing I can find the truth about my parents” I answered honestly.

“I don't think anyone has told you this before. You're quite stubborn” She walk past me towards the entrance door. I followed suit.

“I am not. But hearing about my parents somehow made me want to try out the stubbornness”

“It will put you in danger” The entrance door was pulled open and Vito face surfaces.

“You?” His eyes widened. While I grinned in return. I was about to stepped in after her when he blocked my way. “Let her in Vito. The girl is already here anyway. She can't leave until the full moon disappears”

Great. Before then I would possibly get something from her.

I passed him a look as I entered inside. I didn't miss the scoff that resonate from him in return. “Master Valen it's time” She announced. Our gaze landed on each other. Surprise was dancing on his face.

“What is she doing here again? I thought I've made it clear last night”

“Well, I don't think I've heard you correctly. This time around I'm here for a purpose. Not for you but for myself” I uttered with a light grin.
