“Not talking to me?” I asked, scared he would say no.

He sighed. “Why did you do that?” he asked sadly, shaking his head, still not looking at me.

I grabbed his hand and dragged him off to the bathrooms. When we got into the ladies room, I shut the door behind us and locked it. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realise that would upset you.
