Chapter 106

Lillian POV

We are in the afternoon, and we just got to the palace. The injured warriors have been rushed to the infirmary, and the uninjured have gone to freshen up. We are supposed to freshen up, but Asher called a meeting with the elders, and now we are on our way. We got to the throne room, and they were all smiling. Obviously, the entire kingdom is aware of what happened in the night, and they are all rejoicing, but Asher wasn’t smiling at them. His face was tainted with blood, and it also stained his armour with blood, which he refused to clean. He looked dangerous with his blank face and the bloody sword he was holding in his hand.

"Your majesties," they greet, bowing. I took my seat while Asher stood.

"We have heard the news, your majesty. We are victorious, and the kingdom rejoices with you," an elder says.

"Where are Jose and Martin?" he asked. They looked at each other, confused, and I wonder what he was playing out when he knows they were dead.
