Lillian Pov
After sitting down uncomfortably in Asher’s chamber, I literally ran out with no words spoken and not even a thank you. I am super nervous and I do not know what is in store for me, but right now I have to smile widely and pretend I am thrilled because I don’t want Octavia to catch on my mood. I head to the hall alone, covering the bandage on my head with my hair. When I got to the hall, the birthday was in a dark theme, as usual. Dark balloons and dark decorations. To me, it felt like a funeral and even the guest was not happy, only the demons were happy. I see my twin brother and his mate with pups and I walk towards them smiling widely, well I see them all the time, but I have been in the demon kingdom for 3 weeks now.
“Hey guys, glad you could make it,” I said, my voice sounding like I was the happiest person in the world. Octavia turned to me and she was looking beautiful as usual. She is wearing a golden gown, the gown hugs her curves in the right places. Her white hair is packed in a tight bun, enhancing her purple eyes.
She has this radiant glow to her, and her aura and confidence can’t be matched. I really admire her strength and courage. She has gone through a lot of things and here she is today. I look at Silver and he has his arms wrapped around her protectively, their pups standing in front of them. I admire them a lot and I wish I had what they have, but at least I am happy for my brother. He found himself a great mate.
“Hey guys,’’ I said, greeting the pups one by one. The twins are definitely looking bigger now. They are wearing a purple robe with their crown on their head. Purple is Zira’s favorite color and I am happy they wore it. Dean and Archie are also wearing the same thing and they don’t look happy. In fact, none of them were.
“Lillian, why is Zira’s birthday hall looking like a funeral party? Did someone die?” Octavia asked, a big frown on her face. I smiled, trusting her to always hit the nail on the head.
“Well, she is a demon princess, so this is how they celebrate,” I said, completely brainwashed. Her frown deepened.
“That is not good. Does Zira like this? And are you not supposed to be with her?” Silver asked.
“She will come with Asher,” I said. Octavia looked at me, her suspicious gaze on me. Then she flipped my hair.
“Who injured you?” she asked, looking angry. Nothing can get past her sometimes.
“I fell,” I said, lying straight through my teeth. But technically, it’s not a lie. I fell. I didn’t just say who pushed me.
“And it’s not healed?” Silver asked, and they both looked at me, expecting answers. I bite my lips. What will I tell them now? A loud horn was heard, and everyone’s attention turned to the front of the hall. I thank my stars, happy their attention is on something else. Asher, Zira and Alma walked in, looking like the picture perfect family with Zira in the middle. Their black clothing, black wings and horns. I look at Zira and she is the saddest birthday girl I know. She can barely walk with the heaviness of that gown. And the way they packed her hair up is looking so heavy and my heart swells in sadness because I can’t do anything about it.
“She looks miserable’’ Octavia said, looking at her in pity. And she wasn’t lying. Zira is so close to tears and Asher is not even seeing how sad she is. She turned to me, her watery eyes looking at me, expecting me to help her from that situation, but I could only look down because my hand was tied up. They got to their throne, and they all sat. I sighed, knowing I have completely lost Asher and probably my daughter because as the years go by, I am losing control and right over my daughter.
******************
It has been a few hours, and the party is becoming more terrible. No birthday cakes, no beautiful and cherry songs for birthday girl to dance with. The demons are the only ones enjoying the party, and the songs they are playing are old demon jams and are not suitable for a 10-year-old. Dean and his brothers tried to dance with their cousin and Zira looked genuinely happy they were coming towards her, but the guards stopped them. Apparently, they can’t go near her. Hayden had gotten so mad he cried himself to sleep on Silver arms and the rest were just angry, especially Octavia.
“What sort of sick and heartless human being throws this type of party for a 10-year-old?” Octavia asked, and she sounded furious. I stayed there quietly, saying Alma in my mind. She is the mastermind of everything, and Asher just listens to her.
“Lillian, are you really going to allow them to do this to your daughter? The poor girl is trying to hold in her tears like she is not allowed to show her emotions,” Octavia said, turning to me. I gulped because she is not allowed to show her emotions. That is what she is taught.
“I can’t say anything Octavia,” I said, slowly.
“Well, I have a lot of things to say because I won’t allow anyone to bully her on her birthday. Now where the hell is Asher?” she snapped, standing up. She looked around, and she spotted Asher. I don’t know if her mind linked him or something, but he walked closer to us.
“Hey” he said, smiling and going to hug Octavia. Even if they are dimensions away apart, they will forever have that special bond. But right now, she is mad at him.
“Don’t you dare,” she warned. Asher frowned, looking at her.
“What did I do?” he asked.
“What did you do? Who the hell planned this wretched party?” she snapped. And I hail her on in my mind, not like she gives a damn about anyone.
“I am your majesty,” Alma said, coming from behind Asher. Octavia looked at her up and down, irritated like she was just a mosquito buzzing in her ear.
“Of course, you gave this old hag demon the job of planning a 10-year-old birthday. What were you thinking?” she asked, insulting Alma right in front of her. And I did my absolute best to hold in my laughter as they both looked at her saying nothing.
“But it’s nice,” Asher said, completely weak in front of her. I guess she just has that effect on people. She can be scary, honestly.
“Nice? Look at Zira, she looks so miserable but you have your head stuck up high in your ass you can’t see how miserable she is,” she said. And Asher said nothing, not like he can.
“Your majesty, refrain from talking to his majesty that way,” Alma said, and I see Octavia's eyes twitching.
“And who gave you the permission to put your mouth in between a royal sibling fight? Who are you? What is your job in this kingdom? You are just an old hag with no title except following your king everywhere like a fucking bodyguard. You are a nobody, you have no rights over Zira, she is not yours but Lillian and Asher’s child so she will plan her fucking birthday as her right and you fucking mind your business,” she snapped, glaring at her harshly while daring her to say a word but she dares not because we all know her reputation, Octavia doesn’t give a fuck on who you are and even Asher kept quiet. She turned to Asher.
“I can’t believe you will allow her to plan her birthday. Lillian is her mother, and she knows her best. Does she look happy to you?” she asked. Asher looked at Zira and she was even crying now. Asher sighed.
“I messed up, but how do we fix it?” he asked and Alma looked at him, genuinely shocked he was siding with her. I smirked mentally. Asher will listen to his sister over any demon. Including her.
“That is why I am here, but first get rid of that depressing song,” she said, looking at Alma. Alma stood there, looking at Asher to say something.
“You heard her, change it,” he said, looking at her. She swallowed her comment and walked to the dj, her face red. Octavia walked to Zira, and the guards didn’t dare stop her. I wish I had the type of aura she has. Zira smiled as she walked to her and carried her off to the throne. Then they teleport while Asher breathes out.
“Why does she scare me so much?” he asked, turning to us. Silver laughed, patting Hayden’s back softly. He cried so much he had hiccups.
“She scares everyone,” he said. Asher breathed out again.
“You let her boss you around?” Silver asked, his face serious.
“I don’t,” he said. He does.
“Seems to me you allow her boss around you. I don’t know the relationship between you both or what is the agreement but Lillian is your child’s mother and even if she is not your queen, she has all the right to Zira. Things like this are meant to be planned by her, even if Zira doesn’t really have wolf qualities, but the fact remains, her mother is a wolf and she deserves the respect as the mother of your child. I hope next time you tell the right from your wrong,” Silver said, looking at Alma. Asher turned to me and he gave me a long look, but I know no matter what anybody says to him, Alma will still boss him around. That is how much he respects her.
Lillian PovThe party is finally in full swing. Zira is wearing a purple gown like her cousins, her black hair is set free with beautiful flowers on it. She is now looking so beautiful, happy, carefree and just being a child. She and the boys are dancing together, rolling around like they normally do during parties. The songs are now more kids friendly and you know what Octavia did? She forced Alma to serve us food and Octavia changed her mind so many times just to make Amla walk all around and still yet she didn’t eat the food and settled for water. Alma looks frustrated, and Asher is not even looking at her. His attention is solely on her and Octavia’s conversation. I wanted to laugh so bad, Octavia is such a savage and I am genuinely happy she is here because she made my princess happy. “She looks happy,” Octavia said, looking at Zira. Zira was laughing terribly because Hayden was tickling her. Hayden loves Zira, and I wondered maybe it’s because his siblings are boys.“She does,”
Trigger Warning!Lillian PovI groaned, biting my lips in pain as the whip, soaked in silver, landed on my back for the 100th time this night.“You think you can break rules!” she yelled, hitting me again. I whimpered in exhaustion as hot tears fell down my eyes. My back was aching and throbbing in pain, and she wasn’t done with me. “You found amusement in me being embarrassed?” she asked, whipping me into the back again. I winced, closing my eyes in pain.“Answer me, bitch!” she yelled, whipping me again, the pressure increasing by the second. “N.no” I whimpered. She dropped the whip and pulled me up by my hair. And once again, I couldn’t fight back because of how weak I am. She looked into my eyes, her hand tightening around my hair.“Repeat after me,” she growled, her canine dropping and I can feel it in my body that she was feeding on my energy. I can barely move a muscle.“I am nothing, just a worthless and weak wolf,” she growled and with a shaky lip, I repeated what she said
Lillian Pov It has been three days since I left the demon kingdom. I didn’t follow them back because of Alma. At least she can’t attack me here. Octavia and Silver will spot her out in a second. I know I shouldn’t be hiding in their shadows, but I have no choice but to hide. I know they will protect me and I can rely on them, but I am just scared of what will happen to Zira. That is why I haven’t been vocal. I’d rather suffer in silence than let my pup be affected. My injuries have been healing slowly, but they don’t open up again. I walked through the kingdom ground, heading to the training ground. I don’t really train, but I like to watch them, especially Octavia. She is hilarious during training and it’s sometimes fun to see her savaging people. No, I lied. It’s always fun, but when I got there, she wasn’t there. It was Axel; the beta anchoring the training. “Where is Octavia?” I asked. He turned to me. “There you are. She told me to tell you to come to the conference room,”
Lillian PovIt has been two days since I came back to the demon kingdom and all the physicians that have come kept saying the same thing. There is no cure. Zira is becoming more pale, the veins are becoming bigger and some are protruding out of her skin. I am getting more worried and scared because she looks like she is slowly dying and there is nothing I can do. Asher traveled today to personally meet a famous physician on the outskirts of the kingdom, so I don’t know how long that will take, but I hope he comes back with good news. I clean the sweat forming on her face gently. Her skin is so pale and icy but somehow she sweats like she is inside a volcano. I breathe out tiredly, just looking at her. Then the door opened and Alma came in, looking elegant as usual. But I can see she is wearing a wig. I ripped most her hair off.“What are you doing here?” I growled, standing up from the bed. She gave me a cruel smirk.“You know, you had the guts to lay your filthy hands on me,” s
Lillian PovIt has been two weeks since my encounter with Alma, and things have been worse. Zira’s condition is becoming worse. She doesn’t eat but only vomits blood. Her body is more of bones and flesh. Every time she would scream and trash, itching and clawing at her skin and those times only Asher can hold her because she just has this strength and all I can do is just cry helplessly, looking at her. At this point, I highly doubt she will make it in 3 months. Also, for two weeks, Alma has been abusing me physically and mentally. My skin is way worse than before, but now that I actually have proof to show Asher, I can’t, because my daughter’s safety lies in her hands. I am exhausted. I haven’t spoken a word to Asher, and he thinks I am ignoring him, but I am actually not ignoring him. Alma is always in the shadows, monitoring my movements. I beg her a lot of times to kill me but free my daughter, but it’s like she wants to see me suffer for the humiliation I caused her even thou
Lillian PovIt was the next day, and I woke up on my bed with a massive migraine. My head was throbbing, and it felt like they hit my head with a hammer. I tried to remember what happened last night and how I got to the bed. Then I remembered everything, Alma telling me to go to Asher so they can spend the night. I wondered if they spent the night together. He doesn’t like her right, so that means they didn’t spend the night together. I sighed, coming down from the bed, then I dragged myself to the bathroom. I took my bath using the hot shower and after bathing I went to my closet and threw on some black clothes, then I headed to Zira’s room to check up on her. I don’t know where Asher and I will end, if we will end up together or split. I don’t know nor do I see a future for us together, but I hope whatever happens with us shouldn’t affect Zira in any way and let her be okay, because that is the only thing I want for her. I got to her room and opened the door and it surprised me
Lillian PovPain. Everyone has their own definition of pain. Your small toe hitting a wood you didn’t see, your elbow hitting the floor or an iron. Downloading a movie and when there’s just 3 percent remaining to be downloaded, your internet connection disconnected or the pain when your family goes on a trip without you because you committed an offense. Those are all types of pain, but have you felt the type of pain when you are so hopeless and you feel the world has turned against you? The one when you're loved one’s turn their back against you and ignore you? The one when you are drowning in continuous pain and your heart beating loudly against your chest and you can’t do anything to stop it. Those are the pain I feel. I can feel myself drowning in self pity and disgust, and the only thing I can do is look and be allowed to be stepped on. How long has it been? One week? Two weeks? A month? I do not know, but I have been stuck in this room for a long while now. My back was agains
Lillian PovI swat my hand, feeling a gentle breeze on my face. Then I cuddle back to my warm pillow. My pillow, weirdly, smells nice and is moving, and it’s also hard and comfy at the same time, but I love it. It’s comfortable, so I snuggle more into it and my pillow chuckles.“Lillian, wake up,” I heard Asher’s raspy morning voice and instead of waking up, I snuggled more to him because I might ever have the chance to.“You are overly affectionate today,” he said, putting my hair behind my ear, but I still didn’t open my eyes. His hand trailed to my neck, and he rubbed it softly while I breathed out through my nose, enjoying the feeling of him beside me. But then his hand trailed to my shirt, and he moved it down a little.“What is that?” he asked, about to pull my shirt down further. I flinched away, removing his hand and covering my body.“It’s nothing,” I said, because there was no way I would allow him to see my scar. If Zira comes back hopefully healed, Alma might still hurt her
