Running her fingers along a perfect row of little silver throwing knives, Madison sighed. The entirety of her attention was on them. Ford looked a little put off by the attention she paid to the weapons. I remembered that Drayce said something about the Phantom using knives on people.

 She pulled out as strange leather strap and put it on her neck. I realized she was getting ready to fight, to kill, to try and save me from the vampire. It made her happy. Her attention was entirely on the case and its contents, like we all stopped existing.
