"Are you that dumb? Can't you see I'm sick?!

Evan's loud shout pierced the air, directed at Evelyn as if she were hard of hearing. But she had already caught his attention, even if she hadn't seen him trying to get her to notice him.

When she turned to face him, Evan's expression transformed into that of a frightened kitten, and he quickly retreated under the sheets, pretending to be unaware that Evelyn was now watching him.

Evelyn chose not to say a word, but her gaze fell on the beads of sweat on his forehead. She knew it wasn't a fever-induced sweat, as Evan had seemed perfectly fine during breakfast, and a sick person wouldn't have the energy to shout at her like that.

To make things easier for herself, Evelyn went to the bathroom, grabbed a towel, and returned to gently wipe away the sweat. She needed to make a quick exit.
