Cassian’s POV

A type of loud silence washed over me the moment the door to my study banged shut behind her.

It wasn’t just silence…it was the kind that rang in your ears and scraped the inside of your skull.

The kind that felt like abandonment.

I couldn’t bring myself to admit anything when she asked. Not to her. Not even to myself.

What if she saw me as a weak man?

What if she heard the truth and ran?

The thought of her leaving clawed at my chest until I couldn’t sit still anymore.

I shoved away from my desk, standing from the wheelchair with a surge of stubborn defiance that made my muscles burn.

My steps were slow but steady as I stripped and got into the shower, twisting the knob until scalding water hit my skin.

The only thing I know for certain is that I need her next to me…always.

I don’t care if there’s a name for it or not.

What started as a game…an idle move to test the defiance of a fiery nurse…has grown into something that terrifies me.

I fell in love once, with Vasili’s d

  • The Devil's Nurse   Mine, Even in Silence

Cassian’s POVI deepened the kiss at her neck, my fingers drawing lazy, taunting circles on her waist.Nothing.No gasp. No soft moan. No sign she was even here with me.I pulled back, teeth grinding.“You’re not afraid of losing me, Cassian,” she said coldly, standing straighter, “the truth is, you’re just afraid of losing one of your properties.”The words cut deeper than any blade. She turned and headed for the door.“Where are you going?” My voice came out heavier than I wanted, dragged down by exhaustion I couldn’t hide.“I’m hungry.”And just like that…slam. The door was closed, her presence gone.I buried my face in my hands and let out a low, guttural groan. What the hell should I do? She wouldn’t even give me a chance to explain, to fight for whatever this was before it slipped away.Wait.Did the maid take those clothes to the temple yet?Have they bound us… or did she…My stomach knotted.Did she burn them or curse us? Is that what this is about?Oh, if she’s been messing

  • The Devil's Nurse   The Cold in Her Eyes

Cassian’s POVThe landing was smooth. Too smooth. No turbulence. No distraction. Nothing to keep me from focusing on the fact she hadn’t said a single word to me for the entire flight. When the seatbelt sign clicked off, Lucas stood to retrieve the bags, and I made my move.“Reina.”Her name cut through the white noise of my men unbuckling and stretching, but she didn’t look at me. Not right away. When she finally did, her expression was neutral…so neutral it felt like a slap.“Stay after the others get off.”It wasn’t a request. She hesitated, eyes narrowing slightly, but gave a small nod.Lucas took his time getting off with the crew. The second the door shut and we were alone, I rolled toward her.“Get up.”She didn’t move. “I’m fine here.”I gripped the armrest of her seat and leaned in until she had no choice but to meet my gaze. “That wasn’t a suggestion.”Her jaw flexed, but she stood, stepping into the narrow aisle. I wheeled past her to the small private lounge at the back of

  • The Devil's Nurse   Even If It Kills Me

Reina’s POVThat last part cut through the air like a blade, the weight of it heavier than the threat before it. My brow furrowed, searching his face for the flicker of vulnerability I thought I’d heard.“What do you mean you ‘won’t survive it’?” I asked, my voice quiet but edged. “Is that because you care? Or because you can’t stand the thought of something you own being tainted or stolen by someone else? Will it hurt your pride?”His eyes sharpened instantly, the softness gone. The hand on my waist tightened, almost bruising. “Does it matter?” he asked, his tone flat.“Yes,” I shot back. “It matters to me. One of those things means I’m a person to you. The other means I’m just… property.”“You are mine,” he said simply, like that settled it.I huffed out a bitter laugh. “That’s not an answer, Cassian. That’s a claim.”Instead of saying something to clear my statement, his gaze flicked down my body, slow and deliberate, before snapping back to my face like a whip.“You left the bed t

  • The Devil's Nurse   Don’t Try Me, Reina

REINA’S POV"You disobeyed me, Reina," he drawled, the lazy curl of his voice at odds with the razor hidden beneath it."Okay?" I shot back, sharper than I meant to, my arms folding across my chest like flimsy armor. His back straightened…not in shock, but with the deliberate uncoiling of a man who’d been lounging in the shadows too long. Something in the air shifted, dense and electric."Now…" He tapped the rim of his glass once, twice, like a judge deciding my sentence. "Why would you do that?""Because I’m not your fucking property."The faintest smirk tugged at his mouth, but there was no humor in it…only something darker, hungrier. He turned. Slowly. Predatory. Like a wolf in no rush to chase, certain the prey had nowhere left to run.He smiled, but it wasn’t the kind that reached his eyes. It was slow… deliberate… the kind of smile that promised nothing good.“You think that’s what this is about? Property?” His voice dipped, low and dangerous. “You think I’m angry because you wo

  • The Devil's Nurse   Orders Not Invitation

REINA’S POVAn hour had passed since the chaos with the Lance situation. The air still felt thick, like the echoes of his venomous words were stitched into the walls of the hospital. But everything had gone eerily quiet…too quiet.I was seated at the nurse’s station with the others, sipping from a lukewarm cup of weak tea. Gina was rambling about her deadbeat boyfriend again. Apparently, he still hadn’t gotten off his ass to find a job and was now “exploring his music career.” Her words, not mine.“If he asks me for another ‘loan’ to buy mic cables, I swear I’ll choke him with them,” she grumbled.“He lives off your salary?” Nurse Sally gasped.“Like a damn parasite,” Gina muttered, rolling her eyes.“I swear,” said another nurse with a dreamy sigh, “if I had a man built like a Greek god…six foot five, jaw like sin, arms like death…and he told me to bark like a dog, I’d get on all fours and wag my tail proudly.”The group burst into cackles.I smirked faintly but kept my gaze lowered
