Chapter 3

작가: Kya
Kya POV

I knew it must be Lina messaging him.

She resented me because Owen still chose me, even now. Was that resentment born from her love for Owen, or was it just the cheap rivalry that sometimes arises between women?

I didn’t know. I didn’t want to dig deeper.

For three months, my anger and hatred had slowly cooled and fermented into numbness.

This is what people mean when they say the heart has died.

In the middle of messaging, now Owen received a phone call. It was Beta Ash.

After a few short exchanges, Owen turned to me and said, "Ash said he caught some rogues. They’re locked in the dungeon now, and I need to go check it out. I’ll have the driver take you home first."

"It seems like there’ve been more rogues recently," I said

"Yes. Ash and I are investigating. We’re not sure why," Owen quickly explained, adding, "But you don’t need to worry about these things. I’ll protect you."

"Go ahead. Be careful!"

Seeing that I wasn’t questioning him, Owen cheerfully had the driver stop the car by the roadside.

Before getting out, he didn’t forget to say, "Wait for me tonight—I’ll join you for dinner."

Once Owen got into another car, I turned to the driver and said, "Don’t head home yet. Follow him."

The driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror, then nodded. He had been a silent witness to this affair—neither siding with me nor Owen.

Owen did indeed go to the dungeon, but he stood at the entrance without going inside. He was waiting for someone.

I had the driver park the car in a wooded area near the dungeon.

Soon, a black car pulled up at the dungeon entrance. To my surprise, Ash and Lina got out.

She was dressed in a tight black dress and red stockings. The dress was so short that it barely covered her hips. She immediately threw herself into Owen’s arms, clinging to my mate like a limp rag doll.

Owen scooped her up and hurriedly carried her into the dungeon.

I clenched my fists tightly, my nails digging into my palms.

He certainly knew what spot to pick–who would suspect him of meeting someone in the dungeon?

I let out a cold laugh and used my mind-link to contact a dungeon guard. I asked him to monitor Owen’s actions in the dungeon for me.

I had known this guard before becoming Owen’s mate.

Soon, the guard sent me a video.

When I opened it, I saw a luxuriously decorated room that clashed starkly with the dungeon’s usual gloom.

The center of the room contained a transparent glass shower, a large bathtub, and a massive round pink bed surrounded by whips, ropes, candles, ice cubes, and other things I couldn’t even identify.

Moments later, Owen carried Lina into the room, tossed her onto the bed, and used his teeth to tear off her red stockings.

My hands trembled, and even my teeth chattered. When I heard Lina moan, I quickly closed the video.

"Luna Kya, shall I take you home?" the driver coughed lightly, breaking his usual silence to ask me.

Through blurry eyes, I glanced at the rearview mirror. The driver seemed to want to say more but couldn’t find the words.

"Let’s go," I said.

Shouldn’t I have expected this? Why am I upset?

I rolled down the car window, letting the wind dry my tears. I took a deep breath and gasped for air like a fish about to drown.

So this was the type of woman Owen liked and

I thought Owen was a very traditional man.

***

Three years ago, during the Moon Goddess Festival, when Owen discovered that I was his mate, he didn’t mark me right away or make love.

Instead, he took me for diving to see the stars beneath the sea.

"You’re lying. There are no stars in the sea," I had said, thinking it was just one of his tricks to charm women.

But I still followed him.

When we swam to the bottom of the sea, he took my hand, pointed upwards, and gestured for me to look.

A swarm of glowing jellyfish swam above us, twinkling like a sky full of stars.

I had turned to look at him, and through the visor of my diving mask, I could see the starlight in his eyes.

My tears had blended with the seawater.

A month later, he held a grand wedding for me on a tropical island.

That night, we made love for the first time on a bed covered with flowers.

He marked me and whispered in my ear over and over,

"Kya, you are mine. I love you. I will always love you."

That night, I believed that eternal love was real—just like stars could exist in the sea.

I thought Owen was different from my father.

But after seeing the video, I didn’t know if it was because I didn’t understand men—or because I didn’t understand him.

***

"Stop here."

As we neared home, I asked the driver to pull over.

"Luna Kya..." the driver began.

"Just go back, I have something to take care of," I interrupted.

I got out of the car, feeling disoriented and nearly losing my balance. Then, I hailed a taxi.

"Take me to the used car market," I said.

Owen POVI followed the address provided by the hacker and drove to the small town in the desert.Along the way, I couldn’t stop wondering. Seeing this scene broke my heart. She had once been so radiant, but now, she was living in such hardship. I could hardly bear it because all of this was my fault.I begged Kya to come back with me. She refused, which I had expected.I had hurt her so deeply; what right did I have to ask for her forgiveness? But I believed that one day, she would see my sincerity.I am no longer an Alpha. I decided to leave my past behind and quietly protect her in this small tow

  • The Disappeared Luna   Chapter 21

Kya POV“Who is it?” I prepared myself for a shift and a fight.“Kya...”A familiar, hoarse voice came from outside the door.It was Owen! I was shocked that he had found me here! After hesitating for a moment, I opened the door.Under the dim light, he looked completely different—haggard, thin, even slightly hunched over, as if he had shrunk a few inches in height.“Kya, I can’t believe it’s really you.” He tried to reach out to me, but I instinctively took two steps back. This seemed to hurt him, and tears welled up in his eyes.“I’ve been looking for you so hard. I even went to the town where you spent your childhood and saw the lily of the valley flowers. You’ve been there, right?” His voice was choked.“What do you want from me?” I asked coldly. “We’ve already broken the mate bond.”“Are you still angry with me?” he said softly. “I know, I was wrong. I’ve sent Lina away, I swear, I will never do anything to hurt you again!”“Swear? Haven’t you made vows to me before?” I said sarca

Kya POVMy wolf didn’t like the new place. She’s used to forests, meadows, lakes, and oceans. But the place I was living, there were almost no werewolves, only a few human nomads. It took me three days to renovate a house made of mud bricks. My home was about a 30-minute walk from the nearest town. Without a car, I had no choice but to walk when I need basic supplies. The endless yellow sand, the vast, boundless sky—underneath, it was just me and my shadow moving across the dunes. The solitude was overwhelming.Living in the desert wasn’t easy.I managed to find a job teaching English at the local elementary school. The children were curious about me, a foreigner with an accent and unfamiliar clothing.“Teacher, why did you come here?” a boy asked during recess.I smiled and replied, “To learn something new.”In a way, that was true.In my spare time, I immersed myself in the local culture. I started learning their language and experimenting with local dishes in my makeshift kitchen.

  • The Disappeared Luna   Chapter 19

Owen POVI hurriedly grabbed my phone. My interview video was making the rounds on all major news channels, and its view count was skyrocketing.Scathing remarks filled the comment section. "Oh, so now that everyone knows, you’ve come out to apologize? Would you have done it if no one found out?""Wow, a five-minute apology letter. That’s definitely going to heal Kya’s wounds!""I was drunk, and she seduced me. Bro, we’ve heard that excuse way too many times.""This apology feels more like it’s for yourself, not for Kya.""He just wants to recover the company’s losses—it’s all business."......“No, I sincerely wanted to apologize…” I stared at the screen, weakly trying to defend myself. The interview made me a complete joke. Time crawled by, day after day, in search of Kya, but all in vain. Kya still seemed to have vanished without a trace, as if she had evaporated into thin air.Deep down, I consoled myself, thinking the internet’s memory was fleeting—this storm would eventually

Owen POV"You dick head, get up!" A loud and crocky voice snapped me off the sleep. “Huh?! I sat up, startled only to see my parents standing by my bed. "Father, Mother, why are you here?"My head was throbbing painfully. I couldn’t remember how I got back last night—only a vague memory that Kya had come to see me. They must have got the news that Kya left! After I inherited the Alpha position, my father handed the Starry Pack to me and his company to manage. He and my mother had moved to the countryside to live a peaceful life."You haven’t even looked at the TV, have you? That Lina has been exposing your affair with her on every channel! How could you get involved with a woman like that?" My father roared. I turned on the TV, flipping through a few channels, and saw Lina on a program called Tom Show, dramatically sharing details of our so-called affair. She wore a simple sports outfit andlooked innocent. At one point, she even choked up as if overwhelmed with emotion."I already b

  • The Disappeared Luna   Chapter 17

Owen POV"There's a charity auction tonight, and one of the highlight items looks very much like Luna Kya's ring."Ash sent me a promotional photo of the event, and my heart clenched. It was the wedding ring I had designed—eight small diamonds encircling a square sapphire, every detail infused with my deep love for Kya."It can't be mistaken," I murmured, the image of Kya wearing that ring on our wedding day flashing through my mind.I rushed to the auction venue without fixing my disheveled hair or wrinkled shirt.I paid twice the offered price to win the ring back and went straight to the auction organizer, demanding, "Where did this ring come from?""The seller didn’t want to reveal their identity," the organizer hesitated."Speak up!" I growled, shifting into my wolf form and pinning him to the ground. My patience was gone."Lisa—it was a witch named Lisa," he stammered.“Lisa?!” A name I didn’t recognize.Following his lead, I found Lisa's address. When I pushed open the dark red
