Crescent’s Pov

“Let me help you,” Aaron muttered behind me as he tried to grab my hand.

I shrugged his hand off mine, “I can do it,” I hissed.

Hurt flashed across his face at the tone of my voice, but I didn’t care. Couldn’t care. Nothing mattered anymore.

Anton couldn’t even look at me. He had acted like he wanted to be anywhere but close to me.

“Cory, you can’t stand on that ankle, you need to…”

“Aaron, I said I can fucking do it. Drop it,” I snapped.

He clamped his lips shut as he watched me limp to the bathroom. I slammed the door shut behind me, locking it instantly. The minute I was secured in the bathroom, I dropped to the ground, and the tears that I had been holding on for so long rolled down my cheeks.

I couldn’t catch a break.

Every time it looked like it was about to smile, I would end up being thrust back into the darkness and I would be left with nothing but teras in the end.

I was tired of being hunted.
