— THE DISOWNED HEIRESS & THE SCARRED FRENCH MONARCH —

Lucian let go of my lips but he did not step back. His strong body stayed pressed tight against mine. I was stuck between him and the warm fire. My chest moved fast up and down. My lips felt sore and soft from his hard kiss.

I could feel his hard part pressing right against my stomach. His body was hot and ready for me.

"You... you know who I am," I said quiet and shaking. I tried to push his chest but it was like pushing a hard wall.

Lucian laughed low and dark. He touched the long silver mark on his jaw.

"Did you think you could hide from me Vivienne?" he said. His gray eyes looked straight at me. "Your father tried for five years to ruin my business. I know all about your family. I know your stepmother set you up. I know your father threw you away like trash."

My heart stopped. "Then why buy me? If you hate my family leave me there."

"Because you are the perfect tool," Lucian said. He stepped back and crossed his arms. I felt cold right away. "Your father thinks you are nothing. But you know all his secrets. You know where he is weak. And now you belong to me."

He walked to the big wooden table. He picked up a thick paper and a black pen.

"Come here little bird," he ordered.

My legs felt weak but I walked to him. I looked at the paper. At the top it said: THE POSSESSION CONTRACT.

"What is this?" I asked shaking.

"Your new life," Lucian said cold and plain. "Sign this. There are three simple rules. First: You are my wife and mine only for one whole year. Second: You tell me every secret about your father's business so I can break his empire."

I swallowed hard. "And third?"

Lucian stepped close again. His shadow fell over me. He ran the cold pen tip slow down my neck and I gasped.

"Third: You sleep in my bed every night," he whispered dark. "Any time I want. Any way I want. You do exactly what I say."

Anger rose inside me and chased my fear away. "What if I say no? What if I will not be your toy?"

Lucian's eyes turned dark. He leaned close to my ear. "Say no and I will give you back to the guards. Five other bad groups want you. They will lock you up and hurt you until you break. With me you get a nice house pretty clothes and a chance to get back at your father. Choose well Vivienne."

I knew I had no choice. No money no family no place to go. If I leave I will be hurt by worse men. With Lucian I can make my father pay.

"I want my father to hurt too," I said looking straight at him. "I want him to lose everything."

A dark smile came to his face. "That is my girl."

He put the paper on the table. I reached for the pen but he caught my wrist tight.

"Ah! Lucian what are you doing?" I cried.

"You do not sign like everyone else," he said. He pulled my waist and bent me over the cold table.

My hands held the wood to keep steady. My dress was open at the back so my skin felt the cold air right away. I felt so weak. He stood right behind me. I heard the pen click open.

I gasped when the cold sharp pen touched my lower back right above my hips.

"Lucian!" I tried to move but his big hand held my hip tight so I could not go.

"Stay still," he said rough and low. "I mark you first."

I made a soft sound as he drew the pen slow on my skin. The cold ink felt hot on my back. He wrote his name Lucian De Vitis right on my skin. It felt scary and strange all at once. My body felt soft and warm for him again.

When he finished he put the pen in my shaking hand. He leaned over me his chest pressing on my back his breath hot on my neck.

"Now sign your name on the paper little bird," he said. His hand covered mine and helped me write.

I wrote my name. Vivienne Sterling.

The ink on the paper was dry but the ink on my back was still wet.

Lucian threw the pen away. His hands pulled my dress up slow. The fire light shone on my legs. He held my hips tight and pulled me close so I felt his hard part pressing right where I needed him.

"Paper work is done," he whispered dark near my ear. His fingers dug into my skin. "And now... I take what is mine."

    — THE DISOWNED HEIRESS & THE SCARRED FRENCH MONARCH — VIVIENNE’S POV The private jet banked sharply over the ancient, rain-slicked skyline of Rome. Below us lay the sprawling citadel of the De Vitis dynasty—a fortress of marble, blood, and centuries of dark Italian rule. In the master cabin of the jet, Lucian stood over me, his dark gray eyes lit with unhinged, protective fire. He knelt on one knee in front of my velvet chair, his massive hands carefully securing a custom leather thigh holster beneath the hem of my sleek black silk dress. "My father is not Elder Vane, ma chérie," Lucian rumbled softly, his thumb sliding against the exposed skin of my upper thigh as he checked the diamond tactical blade in the sheath. "Leo De Vitis doesn't throw tantrum leaks. He is a spider. He spins traps and waits for you to step into his web." I leaned forward, cupping his harsh jaw in my hands. "Then it's a good thing he’s dealing with us." Lucian looked up, a dark, possessive smirk curving

VIVIENNE’S POV "We go in hard" Lucian growled softly. His large hand wrapped over mine and his thumb rubbed small circles over my knuckles. "You stay behind my shoulder" "We move together Don Cuddles" I interrupted and offered a small lethal smirk. "I am not a backseat Empress." A rare and breathless chuckle broke through his dark face. "As you wish my Queen." The heavy iron gates of the Versailles compound did not just open. Our breaching vehicles rammed them straight off their hinges. Explosions rocked the well kept gardens as Lucian’s strike team poured into the courtyard. Lucian and I moved through the grand marble hallways like a synchronized storm of steel and fire. He took down the long range shooters with terrifying and effortless precision while I swept the flank. My diamond tactical blade flashed in the dim light as I brought down two approaching guards. We reached the heavy underground vault doors at the back of the estate. Lucian kicked the iron frame open. The heavy

VIVIENNE’S POVThe red lights in the secret meeting room painted Lucian’s face dark red.The big headline was everywhere: "Madame Monarch’s Medical Records Leaked: Empress Has Lost Her Memory."Every rival group in Europe saw the news. Other families were already canceling their deals, thinking there was no one strong enough leading us anymore.Lucian leaned over the map of Paris, his hands tight on the glass table. His eyes looked wild and angry, making even his most trusted guards step back."I will take fifty men," Lucian said in a deep, dangerous voice. "We will destroy Elder Vane’s house. Everyone in the High Council dies tonight.""Lucian, stop!" I said firmly, stepping right in front of him.He froze, his chest moving fast as he looked down at me with hurt and anger. "They hurt you, Vivienne. They put a target right on your back!""That is exactly what he wants!" I held his hand tight. "He sent those papers to make you act crazy. If you attack them now, everyone will say you a

VIVIENNE’S POV"You know, Don Lucian, for a scary leader of the underground world, you sure do spend a lot of time looking like a statue who is always frowning," I said, leaning back in the big soft chair by the breakfast table.I sat with my legs crossed, wearing one of Lucian’s big white shirts that was too large for me. I rolled up the sleeves to my elbows and took a slow sip of black coffee.Lucian stood near the tall glass windows. He looked very serious in his neat dark suit, reading secret messages on his phone. He stopped, his gray eyes turned to me, and one eyebrow went up."I run a big group all over the world, ma chérie," he said in his deep voice. But the sharp and scary tone was gone, replaced by that soft voice he only used for me. "I don't frown all the time.""Oh yes you do," I smiled, moving my coffee around in my cup. "And you give everyone that scary look. I think I should give you a cute nickname so people won't be so afraid. How about... Lulu? Or Don Cuddles?"Luc

    — THE DISOWNED HEIRESS & THE SCARRED FRENCH MONARCH —VIVIENNE’S POVI woke up feeling a steady heartbeat against my cheek.Morning light came through the thin silk curtains, painting the room in soft gold and pink colors. I did not reach for the knife under my pillow. I did not wake up scared, waiting for the cold floor of Arthur Sterling’s basement.I was lying close against Lucian’s chest. His strong arm was wrapped gently around my waist, holding me like I was something precious and easy to break.Slowly, I lifted my head. Lucian was already awake, looking down at me with soft gray eyes full of care and warmth. The dark circles under his eyes were gone."Good morning, ma chérie," he said quietly, his voice still deep from sleep. He touched my lower lip with his thumb."Did you sleep well?" I whispered, placing my hand over his chest."The best sleep I have had in two years," he answered. "Because you were here with me."For the first time since I woke up in the chateau, the fear i

    — THE DISOWNED HEIRESS & THE SCARRED FRENCH MONARCH — VIVIENNE’S POV The big room in the east wing of the house was filled with soft golden light from the sun coming through the tall windows. I had not left this room for three days now. My mind felt messy and scary. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw myself back in New York, locked in a dark basement waiting for someone to come. But when I opened my eyes, I was here with soft sheets, fresh flowers, and very quiet around me. And then there was him. Lucian stood near the door, keeping some distance from me. He changed into a simple black shirt and pants, but he still looked big and strong. He did not look like a scary boss now, more like someone watching over me quietly. He always knocked before coming near. He never stood over me. When he brought me food or tea, he placed it gently on the table and stepped back right away. "You are watching me again," I said softly. My voice was still a little weak. I held the sheets tig
