Lucian let go of my lips but he did not step back. His strong body stayed pressed tight to mine. I was stuck between him and the warm fire. My chest moved fast up and down. My lips felt sore and soft from his hard kiss. I could not think straight with him so close to me. I could feel his hard part pressing right against my stomach. His body was very hot and ready just for me. Every small move he made made my legs feel weaker. "You know who I am," I said quiet. My voice shook a lot. I tried to push his chest but it was like pushing a hard wall. He did not move even a little bit. Lucian laughed low and dark. He touched the long silver mark on his jaw with rough fingers. "Did you think you could hide from me Vivienne?" he said. His gray eyes looked straight into mine. "Your father tried for five years to break my work at sea. I know all about you. I know your stepmother lied about you. I know your father threw you away like trash." My heart felt like it stopped beating. I looked up at him with wide eyes. "Then why buy me? If you hate my family so much leave me there." "You are what I need," Lucian said. He stepped back and crossed his arms over his big chest. I felt cold right away when he moved away. "Your father thinks you are nothing. But you know all his secrets. You know his plans and where he is weak. And now you are mine." He walked to the big wooden table on the other side of the room. He picked up a thick paper and a black pen. "Come here little bird," he said. His voice was firm and I knew I had to go. My legs felt soft like jelly but I walked slow to him. I looked down at the paper. It said in big letters: THE POSSESSION CONTRACT. "What is this?" I asked. My voice still shook. "This is your new life," Lucian said plain and cold. "Sign this. There are three simple rules. First: You are my wife and mine only for one full year. You go where I go and do what I say. Second: You tell me all your father's secrets so I can break his work and take everything he has." I swallowed hard. My throat felt very dry. "And third?" Lucian stepped close again. His big shadow fell over me. He ran the cold metal tip of the pen slow down my neck. I gasped loud at the cold touch. "Third: You sleep in my bed every night," he said close to my ear. "Any time I want. Any way I want. You do exactly what I say." Anger rose up inside me and pushed my fear away. I lifted my chin to look at him. "What if I say no? What if I will not be your toy?" Lucian's eyes turned very dark. He leaned down so his lips almost touched my ear. "Say no and I give you back to the guards right now. Five other bad groups want you. They will lock you in a dark room and hurt you until you break. With me you get a nice house, soft beds, pretty clothes and good food. And you can get back at your father. Choose well Vivienne." I knew he was right. I had no money, no family, no place to go. If I left this room things would be much worse. With him I could make my father pay for all he did. "I want my father to feel pain too," I said strong and sure. "I want him to lose all he has." A dark smile came to his face. He looked happy with my answer. "Good girl." He put the paper flat on the table. I reached for the pen but he caught my wrist tight. I could not pull away. "Ah! What are you doing?" I cried out in surprise. "You do not sign like that," he said with a low rough sound. He pulled me fast and bent me over the cold hard table. My hands pressed flat on the wood to stay up. My dress was open at the back so my skin felt the cold air right away. I felt so open and weak. He stood right behind me. I heard the pen click open. I gasped loud when the cold sharp pen touched my lower back right above my hips. "Lucian!" I tried to move but his big hand held my hip tight so I could not go anywhere. "Stay still," he said rough and low. "I mark you first so everyone knows who you belong to." I made a soft sound as he moved the pen slow on my skin. The ink felt cold then hot right on my back. He wrote his full name Lucian De Vitis right on my flesh. It felt scary and strange all at once. My body felt soft and warm for him even though I was scared. When he finished writing he put the pen in my shaking hand. He leaned over my back. His big chest pressed on my spine and his breath was hot on my neck. "Now sign your name on the paper little bird," he said. His big hand covered mine and helped me hold the pen right. With slow shaking fingers I wrote my name. Vivienne Sterling. The ink on the paper dried fast. But the ink on my back was still wet and warm against my skin. Lucian threw the pen far on the table. His big hands pulled my dress up slow. The light from the fire shone on my bare legs. He held my hips very tight and pulled me close so I felt his hard part pressing right against me. "All the paper work is done," he said dark and rough near my ear. His fingers dug a little into my skin. "And now I take what is mine."VIVIENNE’S POVThe private gaming room inside the Casino de Monte‑Carlo smelled of vintage champagne, expensive cigars, and unfathomable wealth.I leaned back in my velvet armchair, dressed in a backless, floor‑length emerald silk dress that dragged along the polished marble. My diamond tactical blade was strapped securely against my inner thigh, while my mother’s gold Sovereign signet ring caught the glint of the crystal chandeliers overhead.Across the green felt table, Lucian sat like a bored, predatory king. He was dressed in a crisp black tuxedo, his jacket unbuttoned, his tie loosened just enough to look dangerously unhinged.A French duke sitting two seats down from me had been staring at my exposed back for the last twenty minutes. He leaned toward me, a patronizing smirk on his face.“You look far too delicate to be playing at a ten‑million‑euro table, mademoiselle,” the duke purred, sliding a stack of black chips forward. “Perhaps I could buy you a drink instead?”Before I c
VIVIENNE’S POVThick white smoke filled the big room. It was hard to breathe. The powerful men of the High Board were screaming and running around. They had just demanded half of everything we owned, and now they were afraid.Gunfire rained down from the balcony above."Shooters are up there!" I called out, my voice steady even with the smoke stinging my eyes."I will handle this floor!" Lucian shouted through the fog.He did not hide. He moved forward with great strength. He fired his gun into the smoke and struck every attacker before they could hurt anyone below.I did not stay to hide. I pulled up the side of my long white dress and took out my sharp blade. I ran up the stairs toward the balcony.A man in heavy armor turned and raised his gun at me. I moved fast before he could shoot. I struck him with my blade, took his gun, and cleared the whole upper balcony.Down below, I saw Lord Sterling hiding under the big table. He was shaking like a scared child.I jumped down from the b
VIVIENNE’S POV Rain fell hard on the yacht deck, but the gunfire did not stop. BANG! BANG! BANG! The Phantoms were the High Board’s best killers. They thought they could sneak up on us in the dark. They did not know they were walking into a trap set by a Don and his Empress. Lucian moved fast through the storm. He fought with great strength and took down three men quickly. I moved quietly along the side of the boat. I struck one guard with my blade, took his gun, and cleared the other side. In four minutes, all the attackers were dead on the wet wood. Lucian pushed the last body into the sea. He turned to me, his eyes burning with anger and care. He did not check the area. He did not watch the helicopter fly away. He walked to me, held my waist tight, and led me quickly into our private room. He closed and locked the heavy door. LUCIAN’S POV The door shut, and the sound of the ocean faded. My blood was still hot from the fight. I gently pushed Vivienne against the bed. I ch
VIVIENNE’S POVBOOM!Fire shot up from our private jet. Bright orange light filled the dark sky. Pieces of metal fell all around us like burning stones. Rain was pouring hard on the ground.Lucian and I did not even blink."Twenty million euros," Lucian said quietly. His eyes were fixed on the men coming toward us through the smoke. "I bought that jet four months ago, my love.""I will buy you a bigger one with the money your father stole," I said with a smile. I held my sharp blade and turned it in my hand. "Now stop complaining and help me fight these men.""As you wish, my Queen," Lucian said.We moved together like one strong force. Lucian fought with great power. He moved fast and struck hard. He used his blade and his gun to protect me and push the enemies back.I moved through the fight with careful steps. I ducked under a gun, struck the man, took his gun, and shot before they even saw me clearly.A bullet touched my sleeve. Lucian saw it and became very angry. He caught the m
— THE DISOWNED HEIRESS & THE SCARRED FRENCH MONARCH — VIVIENNE’S POV The sirens inside the Borghese Palace flashed bright red. The light looked like blood on the stone pillars. BANG! BANG! BANG! Lucian fought with all his strength. He wore his nice black suit and held his mask in one hand. He moved fast through the dark halls. Every shot he fired hit one of Leo’s men. He stood right in front of me to keep me safe while bullets hit the walls around us. "Watch your left side, ma chérie!" Lucian shouted over the loud noise. I did not get scared. I ducked down when a man swung his gun at me. I pushed my knife into his leg. I took his gun and kicked him away. I fired at the men running toward us. "Good shot, Queen!" Lucian said with a dark smile. He loaded more bullets with one hand. Suddenly the shooting stopped. The speakers around the room made a loud noise. A voice started playing. It was Leo’s voice, recorded two years ago. "You are buying her for one reason, Lucian," the voi
— THE DISOWNED HEIRESS & THE SCARRED FRENCH MONARCH — VIVIENNE’S POV The private jet banked sharply over the ancient, rain-slicked skyline of Rome. Below us lay the sprawling citadel of the De Vitis dynasty—a fortress of marble, blood, and centuries of dark Italian rule. In the master cabin of the jet, Lucian stood over me, his dark gray eyes lit with unhinged, protective fire. He knelt on one knee in front of my velvet chair, his massive hands carefully securing a custom leather thigh holster beneath the hem of my sleek black silk dress. "My father is not Elder Vane, ma chérie," Lucian rumbled softly, his thumb sliding against the exposed skin of my upper thigh as he checked the diamond tactical blade in the sheath. "Leo De Vitis doesn't throw tantrum leaks. He is a spider. He spins traps and waits for you to step into his web." I leaned forward, cupping his harsh jaw in my hands. "Then it's a good thing he’s dealing with us." Lucian looked up, a dark, possessive smirk curving
