Molly fought the chasen. It tried to get her but she used everything Rodrick taught her to not only evade it but land attacks on it too.
It punched and kicked through the walls, destroyed furniture and even pulled the chandelier off the ceiling of the foyer to throw at her but she moved out of the way. She fell to the floor and when she looked up, from being about four meters out, the chasen was standing right in front of her.
Molly wanted to crawl in between its legs but it grabbed her by one of her legs and lifted her up by it; upside down and with her t shirt falling over her face and exposing her bare belly and the short vest she was wearing underneath it.
The chasen punched her in the face and then placed its hand over her face to begin sucking her soul out; pinning her hard against the wall.
Her hands still glowing, Molly grabbed its hand trying to get it off and the second she did the chasen groaned and pulled its hand away from her face and lookin
Later that night, Molly and Det. Brighton were at a motel. They had booked one of the rooms and were inside catching their breaths from what just happened, especially Molly who was completely shaken she had locked herself in the bathroom and was sitting down in the empty bath tub wearing a bath robe. She had showered and had her bruises patched up and her cuts stitched at the hospital and was just sitting there crying like a child. Molly couldn't believe what just happened. She couldn't believe that she had just faced another chasen; something that she was assured would never happened. Rodrick told her that the only way she was ever going to be free was if she killed the chasen that was after her and that was what she did but it didn't work. The chasen that was after her may have been killed but another one popped up and took up right where the last one left off, why? How? Rodrick had been free from the chasen that wanted his life for twenty-plus years and there she
Night time came and Molly and Det. Brighton were in bed sleeping. He was peacefully asleep but she wasn't. She was tossing and turning and had droplets of sweat all over her face, neck and chest; with her breathing quite heavy like she was from running. She wasn't having a very pleasant dream. In her dream she was running on a narrow path in the middle of a dark vast area away from the chasen that was right behind her, with its arm stretched forward wanting to grab her. Molly was screaming but her voice wasn't coming out; screaming on top of her voice for Eric to help her but it was like she was in a vaccum. She couldn't hear anything. Not the sound of her voice, not her foot steps on the concrete path and not the chasen growling behind her; a chasen that was growling so hard it had veins popping out on the side of its head. The path came to an end and seeing it Molly tried to stop but she couldn't stop herself in time. She slid over the end but held onto the
Night fell and in their room Molly and Det. Brighton were sleeping. Like the two nights before, he was peacefully asleep and she was tossing and turning, having another nightmare about the chasen. She was sweating and heavily breathing and out of nowhere she sat up shouting. Det. Brighton popped awake and turned to her. "Babe, what's going on?" he asked as she just sat there and went on shouting with her hands on her belly. "Oh my gosh are you in labour? That's impossible, you can't be in labour," he said moving closer to her. "I'm not, it's just cramps. Ugh!! Really, really bad cramps, oh my gosh," she said squeezing her face. "O.k. um what did the class say to do when you started having cramps um breathe. Long deep breaths in and out," he said and Molly tried it but the pain was overwhelming. "Ugh! It's not working. Ow! Ow!" "Try again baby, long deep breaths in and out, come on breathe with me." She breathed with him for a few breat
Days passed and Molly woke up. Her eyes slowly opened and looking around at where she was she saw that she was in a small room with flowers and herbs everywhere and with someone sitting by her bedside. "Eric," she gently called out to him and he lifted his head looking at her. "Oh my gosh baby," Det. Brighton said and stood up; immediately walking up to her. "You're awake." He sofly held her hand and leaned down to kiss her all her face and then placed his forehead against hers, with the both of them closing their eyes and allowing themselves the feel of each other's beautiful energies. He then kissed her cheek and stood up straight. "How are you feeling?" Molly took a moment as tears began to build in her eyes. "Not good." Streams of tears ran down her face. "I don't feel good at all," Molly said and wiped her tears away. "I know." "How long have I been asleep?" "A week." "A week? Oh my gosh Dylan," Molly said wanting to sit u
Minutes later, Det. Brighton was in his car driving down the road. He had his phone to his ear and was calling someone. "Eric?" the voice on the other end of the call said answering the phone. "Rod!" "What? What's wrong?" "Is Molly at home?" Det. Brighton asked. "What do you mean is Molly at home? She's at the hospital. Aren't you there right now? You said you were going to be taking today's night shift." "I am. I was." "So what's going on?" Rodrick asked. He was in bed and was fast asleep until the call came in and he woke up to answer it. "She's gone." "What!" He sat up as his heart immediately began to race. "Gone? What do you mean gone?" "Gone as in missing. She's missing." "Eric what are you talking about?" Rodrick asked, throwing the covers off of him and moving to the edge of the bed. "I was away from the room for about twenty minutes and when I got back she was gone." "Wha
Night time fell and as Molly was upstairs in bed sleeping, Det. Brighton, Vera and Rodrick were sitting in the living room talking about all the things that had happened recently but most of all how to end the terror of the chasens over Molly's life and finally set her free from being hunted and killed. "We have to do something," Vera said. "Yes we do but what," Rodrick said. "We had a plan and it completely blew up in our faces so we have nothing." "This is too much for her. It's too much. If it carries on with no hope in sight of how to fix it I fear we might lose her." "I don't know what to do. I don't even know what to say to her anymore," Det. Brighton said. "So much bad has been happening telling her that everything is going to be o.k. is starting to sound stupid. I . . . I don't know what to do." "I am so sorry for what happened Eric. So, so sorry." "Me too." "Goodness, why are they after her so strongly? Why do they wan
Molly, Det. Brighton, Vera and Rodrick went on talking about their plan to travel to the chasens' planet and destroy the tower that controlled them all; a plan that Molly just said she was going to execute on her own. "Are you crazy? Absolutely not. The plan is insane enough as it is, letting you go all the way out there by yourself is absolutely out of the question," Det. Brighton said. "Molly no," Vera said. "Yes," Molly said. "Going all the way to their planet by yourself? No," Det. Brighton said. "That is not happening. We're a team so we are going to carry out this plan together." "Of course we're going to carry out the plan together but when it comes time for us to move through the portal to their planet, it won't be us it'll just be me." "No." "Yes," Molly said. "No." "Eric, it has to be me to do it. You know that." "This is not just about you babe it's about all of us," Det. Brighton said.
Days later Det. Brighton was given the information he had requested for on Simon Withers; his phone number, his email and his address and he, Molly and Rodrick drove out to his place to see him. He lived in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and they had to be on the road two hours just to get there. They turned into a dusty road and followed it all the way through the trees to a well designed two story cabin about a whole km away from the main road.Det. Brighton parked the car out front and as they came out, the front door opened and through it walked Simon; a man in his mid-fifties with messy hair dressed in a robe and pajama bottoms."Well I'll be damned," Simon said. "Roddy is that you?""It's me," Rodrick answered."What the heck are you doing here?""Good to see you too. Can we come in?""No," Simon answered. "What do you want? Who are these people?""These are my friends. Molly and Eric.""Det. Eric Brighton," he s
