I tried to hold myself together, resisting the urge to collapse from the emotional trauma I had just experienced. Clutching my belly tightly, I leaned against the wall. “Ju... Jus... Justin,” I murmured, breathing heavily. They noticed my presence. Justin jumped off Gia’s body, quickly pulling on his underwear and tightening his belt, while Gia stood there, smiling like she’d won the lottery. “What are you doing here, Alexa? Why didn’t you knock before coming in?” Justin asked coldly, his voice sharp and manipulative. I almost flinched, like I used to. But I held myself firm, promising this time to stand up for my right. “Is that all you’ve got to say, Justin?” I said, my voice low and threatening. “I just caught you cheating on me with this woman here. Instead of showing remorse, you’re asking me that?” Justin grabbed my hand, slamming me against the wall. “There is nothing to be remorseful about, Alexa!” he howled. “Our marriage was only for my benefit. You don’t have the right to question my movements. I have the right to do anything with anyone I want. You can’t stop me!” He sneered. “I don’t love you, Alexa. Gia is the one I’ve always loved even before I married you. So, please, get out!” His words left me speechless. It all made sense now– the late nights, the long night phone calls and why Justin never returned home during weekends. He had a mistress. He had been cheating on me with her… With Gia Michaels, the rumored heiress of the S&B Empire– one of the richest family in Sarto. From what I’d heard, Gia dated Justin before his grandfather fell sick. When Justin proposed, she said she wasn’t ready for marriage. And now, she’s back—sharing my husband with me. I turned my face from Gia to Justin, my voice shaking but firm. “I came here to tell you that I’m pregnant, Justin. I’m carrying your child. I can forgive you for cheating on me… but can we move on and start over? Like one big family?” I hoped my words would reach him. But he shouted over me instantly. “You may leave, Alexa. I don’t care about that baby in your womb. How am I even sure that the child is mine?” His voice dripped with contempt. “Gia is the only person I want to have babies with. Not you!” He grabbed me roughly, dragging me toward the exit door. I stayed silent. I had learned to keep my mouth shut whenever he’s talking, I don’t talk back. Otherwise, I get a beating I don’t like. At the ward’s exit, Justin pushed me harshly and I landed on the floor. “Go home, Alexa. Don’t make me throw you out of this marriage. You’re only good for the kitchen…” He paused with his hand on the door, then looked back at me, his eyes narrowed and fists clenched. “Do something about that baby. I don’t want a child with you. Terminate it before I get home.” Justin slammed the door behind him and I burst into tears. This… this was the last thing I expected from him. I thought I could make him love me. I thought he’d at least consider our baby and leave Gia. But he chose her over me and even asked me to get the baby terminated. I think the best thing to do at the moment is CRY but crying wasn’t helping. I’d been doing it for hours now, and nothing had changed. As I wept in the back corridor of the hospital, someone handed me tissue papers. I looked up only to see Gia. She stared down at me with a fake, sympathetic face, her eyes almost misty. “You don’t have to cry, Alexa,” she said gently. “Use this to wipe your tears.” I slapped the tissues from her hand. “Don’t pull that pretentious attitude with me, Gia. You came to destroy my home, didn’t you?” “Justin loves me, Alexa. We’ve been in a relationship for eight years. Who do you think you are to steal his heart from me? You’re just a poor country girl. Did you really think Justin would fall for someone like you?” Her tone suddenly turned cruel, her fake kindness vanishing. As Gia glared at me, I stood from where I’d been sitting and wiped my tears. “I know Justin loves me. He married me because I was the right person for him. That alone proves we’re meant to be together.” Gia burst into laughter, covering her mouth stylishly, then shot me a devilish look. “You think Justin married you out of love?” she said, abruptly stopping the laughter. “The answer is NO. I told Justin to marry you. If not for me, he never would have. Once I tell him to divorce you, he will do it instantly without even asking why” “And what if I tell him that you’re not pregnant?” I cut in, wiping the smirk off her face. She froze, shocked that I knew. It shocked her that I found out about her fake pregnancy. That is because I can easily tell when one is pregnant. I grew up in the street, I know traditional tactics way too well. As we glared at each other, Glared examined the corridor to make sure no one was nearby, then stepped closer. “How did you know that? My Pregnancy. How did you find out I wasn't pregnant?” she whispered, her voice sharp. I smiled. “You don’t need to know, Gia. Just stay away from my husband and I’ll keep this secret between us.” I turned to walk away, but she grabbed my arm tightly. “Where do you think you’re going?” she hissed. “Do you think I’ll let you walk away with my secret? NEVER!” “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said, trying to yank my arm free. She held tighter. “You brought this on yourself, Alexa. Now, I’ll make you regret marrying Justin.” Without warning, she pulled out a sharp knife from her bag and stepped back. She aimed the knife at her own abdomen. “What are you doing, Gia?” I cried, rushing toward her. But she smiled wickedly. “After today, Justin will hate you forever.” She pushed me hard, sending me crashing into a nearby shelf which made my belly slam painfully on its edge. I lay there in weakness, staring up at the ceiling. Gia stepped toward me. “If I can’t have a baby for Justin, I won’t let you have one either.” She raised the knife and stabbed herself immediately, dropping the bloodied knife on my body. “JUSTIN! JUSTIN!” Gia screamed, her voice growing faint as she collapsed slowly beside me. I stood up instantly, trying to help her, only to hear a thick masculine voice behind me. “You killed her! You killed my unborn baby!” I turned and saw Justin standing there. Without wasting time, I looked at my hand and saw that I was holding a knife with my right hand and holding Gia with my other hand. The whole scenario looks like I killed Gia.~AlrxaElmo’s hands hovered above his head, shaking. His eyes darted between me and the weapon. He knew the gun was real. He knew I wasn’t bluffing. It wasn’t even mine.Earlier, when I sat on the sofa, I had felt something pressing against me. While Elmo barked orders at the girls to leave, I shifted and spotted it—a gun tucked between the cushions. None of them noticed when I slipped it into my bag. Now it was my lifeline.I cocked it, aiming at his head. “You want to test me, Elmo? Or do you really want to see if I’ll pull the trigger?”“You can’t do this,” he stammered. “That’s a gun, Alexa. Not a toy.”I smirked. My finger pressed tighter on the trigger. “Exactly. It’s a gun. Which is why I’ll gladly use it to scatter your skull if you don’t do as I say.”His eyes widened. Fear. Real fear. And it thrilled me.“You’ve pushed me enough,” I hissed, stepping closer, pressing the muzzle against his forehead. “Never underestimate the power of a woman—especially Alexa Sullivan.”His thr
~AlexaElmo’s eyes burned into me, full of lust so raw it made my skin crawl. My whole body trembled, not with fear, but with rage. Every time I looked at him, it was like poison flooding my veins. He mistook my silence for weakness. His lips curled into that disgusting smirk as he trailed his fingers across my hand, moving slowly, deliberately. When his touch crept toward my shoulder, my heart pounded—not out of panic, but from the fury building inside me. And the moment his hand moved for my breast, I snapped.I swung my hand and slapped him hard across the face. The crack echoed in the room.“How dare you put your filthy hands on me? Do you have a death wish?”He staggered up from where he’d been squatting, his hand flying to his cheek. The lustful grin was gone. In its place, a glare so sharp it felt like he wanted to kill me with his eyes.He marched toward me, fury in his stride.“Did you just slap me?” His voice shook with rage.“Yes,” I said firmly, locking my gaze on his. “I
~AlexaMy car halted before the towering glass façade of G Group’s hotel. I had already tapped into my firm’s network to gather intel about the lounge where that arrogant bastard had lodged. No more guessing—tonight, I was walking straight in.Sliding on my shades, I stepped gracefully out of the car. David, my ever-loyal agent, hurried over, holding out a sleek card.“Here, ma’am!” he said, lowering his voice like he was handing me state secrets. “Just flash this card to the security, and they won’t ask questions. One look at it, and you’re in.”I plucked the card from his hand and smiled.“Thank you, David. You just saved me some trouble.”He bowed, straightening like a soldier. “I live to serve you, My Queen. I can’t afford to lose my job as your agent.”“Smart of you,” I replied smoothly. “Now, leave before anyone notices you lingering.”He bowed again and melted away into the crowd. The moment he disappeared, I wasted no time. I strode into the hotel’s luxurious lobby, marble gle
~AlexaI grabbed my bag from the chair and turned sharply to Analyn.“His address?!”She gave me a look—one that dripped with anxiety. I could tell she wanted to stop me, but she knew she had no right to. So instead, she shifted her attention to the tablet in her hand, her fingers tapping quickly before she finally looked up.“I already sent you his current address via email, Ma’am.”I gave a curt nod and started to leave, but paused. My gaze swept over the board members.“You all just stay here and wait for me. I’ll be back pretty soon. And don’t start making options while I’m away. Like I said, I’ve got this covered, so you have absolutely nothing to worry about.”They all pulled those fake smiles—the kind meant to convince me they understood—but I wasn’t a fool. I knew the moment I walked out, they’d start working on backup plans. This was a firm, after all, and they were worried about their reputation… in case they jumped ship to partner with another company later.Well, that’s th
~AlexaThe moment he said this, I responded,“Okay!”Then I hung up.The tension wasn’t only on me — my friend Zee also looked unsettled, her expression tight with suspense.“What’s the problem?” she asked, leaning closer as I scrolled through my phone, trying to access my linked streaming TV app. “What did Lucas say? Is it that serious?”I sniffed and scratched my head, still unsure.“He said I should check my phone for any news channel! I don’t know why, but…”I froze the moment the live broadcast loaded on one of the local news channels.“The CEO of G Group faces allegations after a source revealed that the Sullivan Empire has lost a $300 million property to G Group without any formal sale!”My jaw tightened as the young CEO of G Group appeared on-screen, seated confidently in front of reporters.“The CEO of ABC personally handed me the property documents,” he stated smoothly. “This shows that an agreement was made, and the 150-acre land already belongs to G Group.”I clenched my f
~AlexaThe customers shot to their feet, some already holding up their phones, eager to capture a video of my humiliation—my nakedness. The thought alone made my stomach twist. I would rather die than let that happen.Tearing my gaze away from the gawking guests, I locked eyes with Justin. His were still blazing with agitation, his fists clenched tightly around my clothes.Without another thought, I yanked my hands free from his grip and delivered a sharp, resounding slap across his face.“How dare you hold me like that? Are you insane?” I spat.Felicia gasped, her mouth falling open in shock, while Justin’s head jerked to the side from the force of the slap.I clutched my ripped clothes to my chest, trying to cover the parts of me exposed by the tear. My voice trembled with fury.“You’re no longer my husband, Justin! We’re divorced. And in this life—or the next—I will never let someone like you disgrace me in public!”Justin’s eyes darkened. He lifted his hand, ready to strike back.
