LOGINHey guys!
(This hiatus notice was posted on 1st March 2025, but was drafted due to leaving my details)
I know last month has been crazy, and the updates for this book have been quite inconsistent. I planned to rush to the finish line and end the book in four or so chapters because of various changes around me that make that the best available option for me.
However, a few days ago, GN updated their author benefits in a way that enables me to take an indefinite leave (Meaning I don't know when I’ll return) and return to the book when I am ready. Where the book was to end would have left a strand of loose ends, kind of like my typical bonuses for those familiar, and that doesn't sit right with me—I mean, isn’t it sexy when powerful men grovel for their obsessions once a few things click into place?
So, as frustrating as this is, it’s where I’m at. I’m sorry for the abruptness.
Possible questions.
Will you ‘really’ come back to finish the book? I would LOVE to finish Act 3. I looove ‘yandere’ (obsessive) MLs, but I am not in the correct headspace for this 'kind' of book right now.
Will you remain active on GN? Of course! I love this app; it’s very author-friendly, so any new book I write will eventually be here! Think of this as a long, selfish break. The new information as of the 3rd of February is as follows:
Instead of Act 3, I will write Book 2. I know my break stretched longer than I wanted, but it was necessary, your girl did not feel creative and creativity comes from a place of freedom, mental peace and maaan.... anyway, Because GN has implemented a system where 6 months without updates results in a waiver of bonuses, I am unfortunately certain that the quality of my writing will be affected, so rather than rush and ruin Act 3/ the ending that you have all been waiting for, this is the solution I have come up with. If the book isn't accepted for one reason or another, I will find a way around it, even if it's adding it as a bonus to any potential new stories, while still giving it its grace and length (but I strongly believe this story should have its own spotlight, so book 2 is more likely). Sorry for all this, and thank you so much for your comments, patience and requests that the book continue.
For now, I will request that this book be marked as complete.
Final Edit (6th Feb)
My editor and I reached an agreement, and so the book shall continue until its completion 🎉
**Trigger Warning: attempted Sexual assault**The scent of lilacs hit Niklaus first before he could even close the door.He loved coming home; it was the highlight of his day, whether Lucien spoke to him or not, whether he called him or texted him through the day—rather, responded to his persistent texts, whether his business took him hours away from town or not. He always wanted to come home, to come to Lucien. To his scent. It was the highlight of his day…So what the hell was this? Why could he smell lilacs so overpoweringly as if the scent was produced by a dominant omega? For a second, he simply stood by the door, allowing the irritation level curdling his blood to halt, when it didn’t…. he walked to where the tangy scent of hibiscus seeped weakly. He drew in the scent to hold it in his lungs, but the lilac overpowered it, causing a sharp pain to pierce his head.“Fuck.”He let out a bitter curse as he walked to the lit living room, where voices could be heard.“My main tasks w
“Move that console table to the west wall.”I instruct, scanning the foyer, then looking at the furniture catalogue.“No, not there. It looks like clutter.”I say to the maid handling the wall clock.Hiring new staff came easy, fitting the house to my taste because I am bored by the hospital-mandated ‘house rest’, however, is something else.I have never been a hoarder, but a few days ago, Mia’s wedding gift, which was all the things I left in her house, arrived.“Yes, sir.”The maid agrees and moves busily.Considering Mia hasn’t responded to my phone calls, I’d take this to mean that she isn’t ready to make peace with me.“The lilies have been moved to go to guest room three, Mrs Heinr- Lucien.”The maid corrects herself readily; all the ‘properly trained’ house helps have a difficult time with my title, perhaps because it has always been accepted that whoever marries a dominant alpha becomes a ‘madam’.Urgh… rich people need to use their time better.“White only. No mixed bouquets,
Noah “Pregnancy should be your first goal.”Anna Stone yells the words from the door as she walks into Noah’s apartment. He almost sneers the moment she slows her steps to take in the room as if it were beneath her.“Mmm…”She mouths distastefully before moving to the counter, picking the last apple in the basket and biting into it.“Your place looks like shit, Noah.”Her gaze sweeps over the empty liquor bottles scattered across the kitchen island, the couch and the floor. Disgust settled in her eyes the more she took in the view.“You are aware it's three p.m., right? You are still in your pyjamas with sleep in your eyes.”It was always amusing that while he, an adopted dominant omega of the Stone house, was never allowed past the foyer of the main house growing up, yet Anna and her guards could walk into his place whenever they pleased.“So what?”He muttered. He hadn’t wanted to open his mouth this early in the day, particularly because he could still smell the cloud of alcohol a
"So you caved?"Dr Nicole asks as she changes the bandages on my neck in my bedroom. Her voice sounds too cheerful for someone peeling off gauze. "I prefer the term strategic retreat."I mutter. My gaze turns to the door, where two of Niklaus’s men stand to watch for ‘potential flirting’, of which offering hydration is one of them, as exhibited by their disapproval when I offered water to the nurse Dr Nicole sent in her place yesterday.I guess that’s considered foreplay in his world."You are healing well. Tomorrow I will bring some alpha pheromone samples with me. Ideally, being pregnant, the only scent you should pick up is that of your baby’s father, but the test is important nonetheless.”She says as she pulls off her gloves and steps back from my frame."Sounds-"Before I can answer, the bell rings."You have guests?""I do not. Rather, the only ones who would come to see me would have called first.”I mutter with a frown. As far as everyone knows, I should still be at the hosp
“You're twisting this.”I answer, and in response, he chuckles darkly. The mood in the room seems to shift. His free hand reaches out to cup my jaw as his thumb presses just hard enough to tilt my face up.“So… you wouldn’t want to fuck her?”"What?""Wrong answer, Lucien."My real answer is 'if she would have me. Sure, we'd have some shit to work out, but with a beta, I’m sure we'd live a quiet life together, and she is almost as gorgeous as Niklaus.’"But the answer that leaves my lips is:"No. I mean, my answer is ‘no’ Niklaus. I wouldn’t want to f-fuck her."Shit, did I stammer?"Hah!"The scornful laugh leaves his lips as though he could see the truth."Lucien..."My name is uttered with a smile, but there is no warmth in it."Lucien, Lucien, Lucien..."He calls my name repeatedly, as if I were a petulant child."I didn't fuck you enough, did I?"“What? I said ‘no’, I answered ‘no’! I don’t want to fuck her; I'm married to you.”I defend, but his rich laughter drowns my voice out.
The next morning smells like weak hospital coffee and delightful hospital banter.“I can't believe he let you stay.”Nicole finally says in the awkward silence that had filled the morning consultation session.“Ugh, don’t say it like that.”I groan.“You make it sound as if I have to ask his permission for basic health care.”“Don’t you?”Nicole, the doctor answers with a shrug. The other nurse snorts as she fluffs my pillow with unnecessary finesse.“But still, I never thought a ‘Heinrich’ would ever marry a beta. I mean… he’s an asshole.”“Professional assessment?”I ask.“A clinical one.” She replies.“I mean, he is less of an ass than his family, they are downright cruel, him, on the other hand, his cruelty lies in ‘indifference’.”“Isn't that the worst of them?”“Yeah… but, I didn’t expect much from him, so I always thought he was the kindest one. Do you know that he first spoke to me ten years ago? Guess what he asked?”“What?”“‘Why aren’t you attending the gatherings anymore
