LUCA’s POV

I was still in a stupor when Valentina and her father departed.

That lady. She wasn't your average woman. She had a certain something. I felt her authority as she spoke. When she twisted my hand back, I felt her power. She was also extremely attractive.

Her father was a horrible person. I could feel it. He was really repulsive. Valentina never spoke or laughed as much in his presence as she did elsewhere. I could sense their animosity toward one another. My parents gave me a big smile.

"Well, what did you think of her? She seems nice," Mom inquired. Sweet? I wouldn't use the word "sweet" to describe her. When she cursed, though, I liked it.

As he scratched the back of his head, Dad laughed. We don’t use the term "sweet" in the mafia. For fuck's sake.

"She's fine," I said without hesitation, even though she was more than good.

My father smiled and touched my shoulder. "That's fantastic, son." In two days, the wedding will take place. I'll have someone set it all up. And all you have to do is show up in a suit."

I nodded gradually as I digested the news.

I'm getting married in two days. I felt something, but I'm not sure if it was dread or anxiety. She was a complete stranger. She was able to stand up for herself, and my goodness, did she talk back.

After providing some more mundane details regarding the wedding and after party, my parents left soon after.

There would be an after party, naturally, any reason to get wasted. And with my pricey alcohol in my home.

I rolled up the sleeves of my black top to my elbows and poured myself a glass of whiskey. The amber-colored fluid would soothe me. I was on edge, which might be harmful.

My head was filled with ideas about Valentina that refused to leave. How might such a stunning creature be so deadly? She was not at all what I had expected. No way.

Her hair was a thick, dark auburn color, and her complexion was a warm, fair golden hue. I had the urge to touch it. And I had her body imprinted in my head, damn her body. The perfect combination of curves and muscles. I was most affected by her eyes. Stunning copper like rubies. I couldn't stop myself from staring.

Nico broke into my thoughts and asked, "So, what do you honestly think of her?" That jerk was still around, of course.

"She's..." I said, looking at my brother, who had his arms crossed over his chest and was staring at me.

"She's.." he said with a grin.

"She's different," I said as I opened and shut my eyes. Unlike other women," I said truthfully. She was, indeed. The manner in which she addressed me would have been unacceptable to anyone else. I could see such rage, ambition, and strength in her eyes.

He gave a nod. "Once you get to know her, I think you'll like her. She's as morbid as you are, as far as I can tell. He smiled and said, "By the way, you have a situation you need to deal with."

I frowned. "Why can't you deal with it?" I scowled at Nico, trying to avoid having my spirits dampened any more.

My brother still had work to do, even though he wasn't seated on the throne. Works he had to take care of.

"Because I am not the one in charge, dear brother." Have fun," he said. As he stumbled out, he appeared a little intoxicated.

I was once again by myself in my mind when he departed my home in a hurry.

Damn, I didn’t need more trouble. I tucked my gun back into my pocket and looked at the crates filled with drugs. "I need this shipment processed quickly. I don’t want the police getting too curious," I stated, talking to no one in particular. I turned to Theo. "Get it sorted," I ordered. I made my way to my car and took out a cigarette. I brought it to my mouth and took a few puffs. The day had been long and really tiring. My phone started ringing, which frustrated me. I let it ring until it stopped and relaxed against the car. Then my phone rang again. "Damn it," I muttered and took one last puff of the cigarette. I tossed it on the ground and watched the glowing bits fade away. "What's up? " I said into the phone while rubbing my forehead. "She’s at

Valentina needed a break, and I definitely needed one too. Her birthday went wonderfully, and I could tell she was happy. She mentioned it was the best birthday she ever had, which made me feel really good and grateful. I was happy to make her feel this way. I would fucking do anything for her. "Come on Valentina! " I shouted as I waited by my plane. I looked at my watch and instinctively reached into my pocket. I stopped myself from taking out a cigarette when I noticed her coming out of the villa, wearing shorts and a baggy T-shirt. She was enjoying another ice pop, looking completely carefree. It was hard to believe she was a mafia leader. "What’s the use of having your own plane if you can’t choose when to leave? " she said. She was right, but I had stuff to take care of. She got

The whole thing was so overwhelming. Perhaps it was the best birthday I've ever experienced. I brought him closer and pressed him down on the bed. I straddled him by positioning my legs on either side of him. "When are we flying back?" I questioned as my heart began to pound as I felt his skin against my own. "In the morning." He grinned. "We'd better utilize our time here to the fullest then." When I felt his hand moving up my back, I giggled. I pressed down on him with all my weight. I kissed him after locating his lips. His fingers were soon running through my hair, caressing me, and feeling my neck. I was running my hands through his hair. Our tongues met, and we never broke contact with our lips. I could feel every inch of him. I felt alive because of his warm physique. I l

Inside, there was a fancy bottle of wine. "Nico," Luca said. "That’s thoughtful of him. " I smiled and set the bag down. That little jerk, he knew I couldn't drink. I picked up another bag that was from both Vix and Dante. Inside was a lovely purse, and they also included a bunch of flowers. I noticed two gifts wrapped the same way. I recognized them as coming from Lorenzo because of how poorly they were wrapped. Still, I was excited. I tore open the first gift and discovered a pair of boxers with the word "bitch" written on them. I laughed and tossed them at Luca. "These must be for you," I joked. He chuckled and threw them back at me. "But it has your name on it. " He grinned. "Jerk," I mumbled under my breath. I opened the second gift and found an amazing knife. The handle was solid black

He knew I would peek, so he decided to use his tie to keep them shut. When I jokingly suggested he do that while we were being intimate, he just laughed. "Should I put on my shoes? " I suddenly remembered I was not wearing any. "No need," he replied, taking my hand and leading me down the airplane steps. "Wow, Luca, I can’t see anything," I said, stretching my other arm out in front of me. He just laughed as he guided me forward. I sensed the warm, tropical air around us. I could smell the ocean and felt the sun warming my tracksuit. I was definitely dressed too warmly, but Luca didn’t say anything. Even if he did, I would just tell him to drop it. "Alright," he said, loosening the tie, which fell to the ground and I gasped. "What in the world," I

Now that bitch was gone and Lorenzo was doing fine, I felt calmer. I think Luca appreciates it when I take it easy and don’t do much. I'm not sure how he sees me. Just sitting around all day feels stifling, but I put up with it for his sake. On the bright side, it gave me a chance to practice my shooting skills, and I’ve been working out at the gym. I’ve also been training Bruno, and when I'm not doing that, I've been eating. I’ve been indulging way too much in cheese, which is my guilty pleasure. I had my nails done and loosely curled my hair in front of the floor mirror before I picked up a call. "Sì. . trattare con loro. . puoi semplicemente dire loro che alla fine tornerò e darò loro davvero un pezzo della mia mente. . . seriamente. . . sei così all'oscuro? . . . ascoltami, tornerò presto
