Samantha POV
The alarm has woken us up at 5 am this morning. Which is totally fine with me, we are a lot of girls that need to get ready for the proceedings of today.5 minutes after the alarm went off, one of the cleaners came in with a white dress that we all need to wear today. She also gave us some white sandals that compliment the dress perfectly.I am currently sitting in a chair. I finished my shower, washed my hair, and shaved everything that needs to be shaved. Joan is now busy with my make-up.We decided on a smokey-eye with a wing eyeliner. She said it will bring out the blue of my eyes. She is also going to curl my hair. I want the curls to look natural and not overdone, if you know what I mean.Once she is done, she turns me towards the mirror. The girl I see is no longer a girl. She is a full-grown woman. The dress compliments my curves.I finally look and feel pretty. For the first time in my life I know I am going to be okay. Nothing is going to be able to stop me. I feel a tear roll down my cheek."No, don't you dare. I spent a lot of time on your make-up. There is no time to fix it." Joan screeches. Of course, make-up is all she is worried about now."Do you think we will see each other again?" I ask Joan looking up at her slowly."Honey, I don't know what the future will bring. I, however, can promise you that no matter what happens, I will try to keep in touch with you. You are the only family I have. I cannot lose you too."We stood there hugging each other for quite some time. This is the saddest part of any action. This might be the last time we will ever see each other. The bus came half an hour later to pick everyone up. The bus diver took all our suitcases and placed them in the luggage compartment, at the end of the bus.Joan and I made sure to get seats next to each other. We want to spend the last few minutes we have left with each other. It took us quite some time to reach the hall where the auction is going to take place. The bus driver took us towards the back of the building. There are already 6 other buses parked at the back entrance. They must be from other schools in the vicinity.Miss Valerie climbs out first. She leads us all towards a big room. There are rows upon rows of chairs in front of a big stage. Some girls are already sitting down.A man stands up and walks towards the microphone that is standing to the left of the stage."Hello to all the girls present here today. My name is Lennox, and I will be your auctioneer today. I am human just like all of you present here today. This year we decided to do things a little differently. We sent a booklet to all the potential buyers. All the information that is important about you is in the booklet underneath a picture of you. So your potential buyer will know they want to buy you even before you step foot on that stage. You will be placed in your groups. Group 1 is up first, then group 2, and so on. I will call your name. You will walk around the sage a bit and then the bidding will start. If you are not bought in this auction, you will accompany your professor back to your school, and they will bring you to the next auction. Now please move into your groups." Lennox and the professors help us into our groups.Once into the group, they start ushering us to the back of the stage. We were barely behind the stage before the first buyers came into the room. We heard the conversations getting louder and louder. We barely stood for 10 minutes before we heard Lennox introducing himself to the crowd. He made some jokes and we heard the buyer laugh. The air turned serious just as the first girl's name was called. She walked out. I heard numbers being shouted over and over again. The final number was close to a hundred thousand and that was when I completely shut down. I never in my life been this nervous. It was finally my turn after about 3 hours. Miss Valerie pulls me out of my dream world with a pat on the shoulder. I look up at her. She is smiling down at me."How did I know that you were zoned out? You are next, love. Don't worry you will be great." She squeezes my shoulder and walks away."Thank you, Miss Valerie," I whisper just as my name was being called.I walk up onto the stage. The lights nearly blinding me. I walk around the stage and then stop just before I reached the edge."This is Samantha. As you can see, her photo does not do her justice. Like before, the bidding will start at a thousand dollars." Lennox words give me a boost of confidence. No one has said I am pretty in so many words. I place my hand on my hip and lift up my chin. I just hope I do not zone out once again. The first bid came in. After that, the number just kept rising. There is a bidding war going on between two men.I try to see what they look like, but the light is too bright. All I can see from on top of the stage is their silhouettes. I close my eyes and let their voices wash over me. One man's voice is soft and gentle. The other has a domineering tone to it.Just as fast as it began, it came to a stop. I listen to the price that I was sold for. I nearly had a heart attack. I was sold for four hundred thousand dollars. That is more than all the pets.A guy I have never seen before came up on the stage and start leading me towards my new master.Wedding in Ate POVI don't know why, but I feel nervous, so nervous that it feels like I need to throw up. The wedding march has begone and I see Samantha and her father walking hand in hand. The sight of Samantha made my heart soar. The dress looks like it was made for her.I was so mesmerized that I only felt it when Mister Jackson placed Samantha's hand in mine."Do you willingly give your daughter to this man?" The elder asked her father and he replied with a yes. Samantha and I turned towards the elder. The elder kept drowning on about the love that Samantha and I have. I wished he would just finish up. I have plans for me and Samantha.Mark came forward and placed the rings in my hand. He gave me a wink and went to sit back down."Samantha. I knew you were special since the moment I laid my eyes on you. My dragon and I couldn't understand what was going on. It sounds weird, but I am glad that Mark bought you because if he didn't we wouldn't have found each other. I vow to love y
Samantha POVIt has been a week since I found out that I am pregnant. I have had to struggle with the decision of how to tell Ate that I am pregnant.I left hints all over and have talked to him about kids. His exact words were that he has never thought about kids. He did tell me that he would love to have kids with me and that is where I was starting to feel guilty. Here I was not knowing what we are going to do and he is so sure of himself. This is the most basic need of a woman. Why am I not even excited? Perhaps it is because I knew that it would only happen way out in the future.I made my way to my mother where she is setting up for our daily lunch break. I made a point to include Joan. She has never felt a mother's love and now she can get all the love that she deserves.Ate went to her old master and made him an offer that he just couldn't refuse, now she is an honorary member of our family.Ate insisted that I take time to relax between my busy schedule. He didn't want me to
A few months later.Samantha POVI woke up this morning with a major headache. It was not unusual since I have been under a lot of stress. I have been helping out a lot at the new orphanage. You only see the glamorized side of things, but never truly see the soul-crushing side of being a queen. My mom and dad did eventually move in with us. My mother took over the castle duties. She is now the head of the house. My dad still goes to work.I walk to the dining room where everyone is already waiting for me.I opened up the door and was met by the heavenly smell of eggs and bacon. It was my go-to breakfast food in the morning. I rarely eat anything in the afternoon so I try to eat as much as I can in the morning.I kissed everyone good morning and went to sit on the right of Ate. I took my first bite savouring the taste when it bubbled back up.I ran as fast as I could to the bathroom and just in time I kneeled over the toilet.Food has never made me sick. My mother came rushing in after
Samantha POVI gasped as we made our way into the ballroom for the first time. My mom made sure to keep everything a secret. The only thing I had the opportunity to be a part of was the colour scheme. The rest was all my mother and some of the employees. I didn't even have the chance to pick the food. There were white centre pieces with splashes of red and black all around. When you look up to the ceiling there are glass bottles filled with tea lights. The plates were red and black. The centrepieces had white, black and red flowers. The candles give a soft glow to the room. On each table, there are two lanterns which only brighten up the place even more.Ate and I made our way to the bride's table. The plates here have a gold rim around them. There are also three flower centrepieces, with the lanterns placed between them. The bride's table was placed in such a way that we were facing the guests. We sat down and waited for the rest of the wedding guests to be seated. There were not a
Samantha POV With the wedding over and done with, it is now time for my initiation ceremony. My mom pulled me into a room. I walk closer to the mirror. True to my mother's words, there are no black tear streaks on my face. I did not need to touch up my make-up. This will save me a few minutes in the long run. My mom helped me take off my shoes and veil. I still don't know why I have to do the initiation ceremony barefoot. We only have a few minutes before I need to get back out there. My mom propped a plate full of food into my hands and told me to eat. "Mom, why are you so adamant that I eat? I am not even hungry." I say taking a bite from one of the crackers. I know there is no use in arguing with her. "I know you are not hungry. I want you to eat because I wished someone did that for me when I got married. When your father and I got married, I was so stressed and busy that I forgot to eat. Halfway through the ceremony, I passed out. It was so embarrassing that I promised mysel
Samantha POV The day of our wedding has arrived. My parents insisted that I needed to sleep at their house since the groom was not allowed to see me the night before the wedding. I did not sleep a wink last night. I kept rolling around wondering what Ate was up to. We tried to sneak in some facetime but my mother took my phone. I am currently waiting on the glam squad as my mother dubbed them. They are a part of the castle employees that will help me get ready in the future for all the events that I need to go to. I finished up my breakfast that my mother insisted on when the doorbell rings. I stand up to open it p but my mother has beaten me to it. The glam squad has arrived and it was time for me to get ready. It took June and Avery four hours to do my make-up and hair. It was the worst experience of my life. Next time I will get ready by myself. I hate people dotting on me. My mom helped me get into my dress after June and Avery left. "Mom will you please stop. You are goin
