After spraying that wave of black water, the high-level zombie didn't press the attack.

It ran.

The whole thing took maybe two seconds. One blink, and it was gone.

"Damn it!" Hayley hissed, feeling her saber cut through empty air. She stepped back, eyes sweeping both ends of the hallway.
