Kylie’s POV

I walked into the office. I glanced around, from the white-painted ceiling to the luxurious sofa to the carefully decorated walls.

I sighed. “CEO: Kylie Wilsons” I used my hand to trace around it and then smiled.

“Good day, Miss Kylie.

“How are you, Lady O?” I gently turned around.

Lady O is the family's spokesperson. She oversees every deal concerning the Wilson family, she also works closely with Madam Wilson.

“ For your first project,” she placed a load of files on the table and continued. “It is an international deal, and we, Bhutan, and some other companies are bidding on the project. We have been on it for months now; Madam Wilson believes in your judgment, so she wants you to take on it as soon as you resume office,” she explained.

“Wow! But it's my first time with things like this. Don't you think I need time to learn how this thing works?” I said.

“It isn't your first time Kylie” she smiled

She was right, you know. Even though I never worked in the company, I have been able to gather a lot of knowledge from secretly helping Austin. I stayed up at night most of the time to properly work on his proposal without his knowledge, and this made things easy for him.

“I trust your judgment.” She smiled and walked away.

My first day at work turned out very stressful. I was going from one file to another making different calls. I wasn't ready to fail on my first project, and not after Madam Wilson gave me another chance.

“ Youngest CEO in town,” I heard Madam Wilson say as the door opened.

I raised my head with a smile on my face “Grandma”

Behind her was a tall man who I couldn't see his face, I could only see his properly ironed trousers. His collagen made me want to move closer.

“Who is behind?” I couldn't wait for Madam Wilson to continue.

“Hey Kylie”

The voice alone sent so much joy within me because why won't it? It was the voice of a very special person to me.

He gently moved towards me with a smile on his face. Different from when I last saw him, his shoulders were more broad than when I used to lay my head on it. His dirty blonde hair fell on his face, and his blue ocean eyes were bright and beautiful.

“Jackson?!” I rushed towards him “How have you been?”

Jackson was my childhood friend. We went to the same high school, we mostly did things together. Even while I was out of town for uni, nothing changed. I set the boundaries the moment I got married to Austin. He tried to reach out countless times but I didn't give room for the friendship, throwing away everything we shared.

“Good. Congratulations on your new office,” he said, and we hugged very tightly.

“I will just leave you two to talk,” Madam Wilson said. I glanced at her, smiled, and then nodded my head. She has always been the best among the best, she knows exactly how to come through for me in difficult times.

“ Did you just return to town? ” I dragged his hand and we both sat on the sofa.

“For a few weeks now”

Jackson was still very quiet. He didn't say too much aside from responding to my questions neither did he ask me anything about my marriage. I know for sure that Madam Wilson must have told him about my divorce, but he'd rather wait till I say something about it. That is who Jackson has always been.

“Bhutan bidding on that too?” His eyes caught the files on my desk.

“Yeah, that’s my first project.” I took a deep, sharp breath.

“I can imagine how exhausting it is” he glanced at me “I could help you know”

“Really?!” I asked with a smile at the corner of my eyes.

As the only child of the Walter family, Jackson oversees the family business. Jackson has a lot more knowledge and experience on how the business world operates, which is more reason why Madam Wilson loves him around.

“Sure…” he grabbed the file and began to go through them one after the other.

The atmosphere became quiet as I watched him brainstorm through the files. His long neck, the way his lips moved while he explained.

“We have a solution already.” he touched my hand, glanced at me, and our eyes became four.

It felt like an electric wave passed through my veins, the time suddenly stopped moving. His stare was so deep, more like he was staring into my soul.

Ding! Ding!”

I quickly removed my hand. I glanced away as I finally gulped down the saliva stuck in my throat.

“Ding! Ding!” It was the office cell phone.

I awkwardly walked towards the office desk. I picked up the call and then went quiet.

“Ma’am, a man here has refused to leave. I told him you didn't want any more visitors, but he insists he won't leave until he sees you,” one of the office secretaries said from the other side of the phone.

“Who is he?-

“Austin Nitaile ” she responded.

I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath. His sudden clingy attitude was becoming so annoying. He almost blew my phone since my coronation party with calls.

“Don't we have security anymore?”

“Ma-

“Call the security to throw him out!” I slammed the office phone back.

“Is everything all right?” Jackson asked, seeing how worked up I was. “ Yea, you are coming to the house, right?”

****†*********

“See you in a jiffy,” I texted Mia and drove in a black Ferrari car, my welcoming home gift from Madam Wilson. I rested my arm on the car door driving in a high speedometer.

“Is she going to forgive me?” I asked myself, with no one to respond. Mia and I met at the company where I used to work. She became a very good friend, even after I quit all because of my marriage with Austin, she remains the best thing that happened all the years. I felt bad for not telling her about my real identity, I just didn't want any special treatment. I released my arm away from the car window, driving with both hands on the steering wheel.

“Kylie!” She called as she saw I was enlightened from the car.

“I have missed you so much!” She wrapped her arm around me. It wasn't the expression I was expecting; she was supposed to be mad; I mean, I kept such vital information from her.

“Aren't you angry I kept it away from you?”

“Why?” She gently unwrapped her arms, smiled, and continued “You have your reasons, all that matters is your happiness and I am glad to finally see you have that “

I held her hand as we both walked into the car.

“Wow! I never expected less from the great Wilson. This is outstanding!” She glanced around, admitting the beautiful mansion.

I smiled and held her hand “Madam Wilson is waiting inside”

“Really” she murmured as we walked inside the house.

“My angel!” Madam Wilson hugged Mia ignoring her granddaughter. “Come sit close to me.” She held her hand. I have never seen her in such a welcoming mood.

“Okay……” Ignored and walked towards Jackson who seemed distracted since we arrived.

“You finally have a new friend?” Jackson whispered in my ear

“You think I can't make friends?” I murmured out.

“You are not so good at making friends,” he responded, whispering in my ear.

“Hun?” My mouth filled with roasted beef

“ Remember how you never left my side in high school. Class cast out”

“You don't have to remind me,” I responded, and we both smiled.

“ Kylie, what did I say about table ethnicity?” Madam Wilson asked. She gently glanced at Mia and continued “Mia my love, do not let Kylie influence you”

“Grandma!” I giggled. I felt a glitch in my stomach that wave through it making me want to throw up. My body seems weak, and suddenly my vision seems blurry. I got up and rushed up the stairs inside the bathroom.

“Are you feeling okay?” Mia's voice came from behind. She placed her hand on my shoulder.

“No” I gently shook my head and continued “Been having morning sickness for a few days now”

“Wait” she opened her eyes widely. “Your monthly period?”

“Not had it in a few months now.” “And you are comfortable with it?”

“Don’t even go there! It's not what you are thinking,” I responded. My heart beating fast.

“We will go see the doctor tomorrow morning.” She gently held my arm as she opened the door.

“Jackson!” I looked at Mia, then glanced at him “How long have you been here?”

“I- just- Are you okay?” his voice breaking, his eyes red. “Yeah- black dots filled my eyes, and everything became blank.

  • The Ex-Wife Revenge Plan.   Chapter 107

Jackson's POVI sat at my desk long after midnight, the glow of my laptop illuminating stacks of accident reports. My fingers hovered above the keyboard. The official crash report said Kylie's van collided with a guardrail and overturned. But there were discrepancies. The skid marks were too short, the impact point off-center, and the computer records showed the brakes weren't applied until fractions of a second before impact.I rubbed my eyes and phoned Marcus. He answered on the second ring."Marcus," I whispered. "I'm reading over the crash report again. Something's not quite right."His voice crackled through the speaker. "What do you see?"I browsed through pages. "Verify the timestamps. GPS pings show the van slowed up at two places—once near the docks, then again ten seconds prior to the crash… but the brakes were not captured in the ECU data until a second prior to the crash."Marcus whistled low. "Either data was fudged or somebody hijacked the van off route.""Exactly," I sa

Kylie's POVI woke up with a thudding agony at the back of my head. I was lying straight out, not squirming, eyes not crossed. I could only listen to the incessant beeping of some device. I tried to raise my hand, but it felt too heavy."Ms. Wilson?" a gentle voice asked.I opened the single eye I could and gazed at a nurse in green scrubs. "I. where am I?" I whispered. "You're at Saint Mark's," she replied softly. "You were brought here in an accident. How do you feel?" "My head hurts," I replied. My voice rasped. "That's to be expected," she replied. "You have a small concussion. You must rest. Do you know your husband?"I furrowed my brow. "Austin?" The right name. So reassuring. The nurse and my face both softened. "He's coming."I let go of my tense eyes and exhaled slowly. I remembered Austin's face. His arms around me. His soothing touch. But Jackson, I didn't recall him. There was a gap.It creaked and swung wide for a second or two. Someone came in. My heart pounding. It was

Emily's POVI slid into the little safehouse as the sun came up. My shoulder hurt from Jackson's bullet's ricochet, and every step I took brought a new flash of pain trembling through my arm. I leaned back on the squeaky couch, applying a cold pack to my bruise. The room was quiet, except for the muffled sound of the old refrigerator in the corner. I took a second to get my breath back.My phone buzzed with a secure message from my contact. I opened it.Contact: You alive?I replied, grimacing as I used my injured hand.Emily: Barely. He got lucky. Your plan?Contact: Waiting on you. Needed proof.I set aside the cold pack and made my way across the room to my dented laptop. Its screen flashed as I booted it up, wiping sweat from my brow. I opened my encrypted chat application and dialed the contact's secure number.Emily (whispering): I'm here. I have what we need.Contact (static): Explain.I leaned forward. "I hacked into the hospital records. Kylie's accident was classified vehicu

Austin's POVI awoke to the light on my phone on the bedstand. I opened one eye to glare at the screen: **"Breaking: Wilson CEO Kylie Wilson Kidnapped, Rescued by Security Head Jackson Reed."** My pounding heart. I sat up and smoothed the headline. I'd read the half-blur—a kidnapping, a rescue by Jackson, her in the hospital.I ruffled a hand through my hair. Good for Jackson. He'd always wanted nothing but hero worship. But good for Kylie… yes, good that she was alive. My gaze went to the wedding-day picture on my dresser, the one that was framed: Kylie's pretty face. A rush of protectiveness washed over me—and a chance I couldn't resist taking.I got dressed quickly in white shirt and black trousers. I secured my tie and focused intensely. Out there, I would be mannered and a good ally of Jackson—the world would see me thus. Behind closed doors, I would pull out my ace card: Kylie needed me today more than ever. Vulnerable. My driver had stayed downstairs. I went into the car's rear

Rachel's POVI came into the boardroom at a little before sunrise. The vastness of the long mahogany table gleamed in the pale light above. I set down my brown leather briefcase on the floor and poured two cups from the carafe at the end of the table farthest from me. The air was tinged with the smell of lightly burnt coffee and wood polish. I sipped it cautiously to settle myself. The door opened, and Fred entered with his own cup. He shut the door softly and smiled broadly at me. "Good morning, Mother," he said, putting the coffee beside mine."Good morning, Fred," I replied, mirroring his good spirits. I gestured to the chairs with a nod. "Sit down."He sat opposite me and took a tentative sip. "We played very well last night."I nodded. "Emily's scheme backfired. Kylie is secure in that hospital, and Jackson is the hero." I allowed it to sink in, seeing Fred's eyes sparkle with pleasure.Fred settled back. "Just as we wanted."I took another sip of my coffee. "Mother warned us of

Fred's POVI decided to accompany Mother in reclaiming what belongs to us.what Kylie had stolen by right of that so-called "written will."I drove myself to the hospital and had to stop the car in order to get a hold of myself before exiting. The gray, weak light of morning was as if the world itself were sympathetic to us. I peered into the side mirror to ensure that my appearance would bring a look of concern to my fatigued face. No one can fault me for not having ulterior motives. The lobby was where I came across the antiseptic odor that hit my nose. A receptionist looked up and gave a pitying smile as I walked by. "Mr. Wilson, Kylie's family," I breathed. She nodded toward the nurses' station at the end of the hall.Nurse Thompson looked up over the counter from the charts stacked on it. "Mr. Wilson. Good you're here. She's stable but must rest."Of course, I said, my voice barely a whisper. "Where is she?""In Room 304, down the left corridor. I will take you there."I nodded an
