Chapter 36 - Telling the Truth
Zack
My breath hitches as my voice lodges in my throat as I hoarsely whisper, “Bry. Wake up, baby. Please.”
My eyes sting as I stare down at her limp body dangling in my arms while water continues to spray down over us.
Pain shoots through my heart while my chest constricts. A howl echoes in my head as I tighten my one arm around her slender body while I lightly tap her check. “Bry. Please, don’t do this to me. Baby. Please.” My voice is barely above a whisper, but it is filled with my anguish and my need for her to wake up.
Hunter and Jacob are instantly at my side. “Bry!”
I want to whip my head around and demand for them to leave, but as my heart shatters, I can’t bring myself to do anything but hold my mate tight against me.
“It must have been the spell. When it was broken, the magic must have done something to her.”
