"Killian, you sent for me.."

"Alpha Killian, you dummy!" I countered, hitting his chin with my slightly fisted hands. "How dare you address me by my name? When did that suddenly begin? Huh?!"

"I'm sorry Alpha Killian." He snorted, rubbing his hurting chin, while battling with tears that almost found its way out of his eyes.

"You had better be." I howled, trying not to be moved by his tears. "By the way, I need you out of this palace immediately until I am finally crowned the Alpha of this pack."

"But why, if I may ask?"

"This is the only reason why I will always keep being hard on you. You always prefer to ask seamless questions instead of you listening to whatever I have to say, and act accordingly." He must certainly never find out what the elders had just told me before they left.

Since they had earlier announced that Jack was the only rightful person who would be considered for the throne in case I was found wanting, then it was only wise that I sent him out of the palace before t

Part of what happened was my fault. As a youth, I wasn't outspoken in expressing my feelings. I loved Mabel ever since we were teenagers and made her my friend at first by taking baby steps but the day I managed to gather courage and pour out my feelings to her but she didn't reciprocate my love at that point."Why now Rufus? What took you so long?""I can't like you now Rufus, I'm with your brother,"She said those words casually but it was one of the most hurtful things for me to hear in my life, but as an honest man I didn't beg for her love, I just focused on myself and never had anything to do with women again.***"How long would it take to reach?" I asked Mabel."Just a couple of days," she answered."I needed more specifics," I said in a stern voice."It would take about four days." She responded.I didn't acknowledge the response she gave for there was no need to give her one. I just wanted to estimate how long it would take for me to be able to execute my plan."My king, the

MABEL'S POVThe pain that comes with watching the one you birthed die right in front of you, without him getting to know his true identity and fulfilling his purpose. The pain that comes with being a mother.I for once never saw his death coming, I had it all planned out but that asshole Adolf. The man I wanted to notice and love me at first even though I'd be his second choice.Rufus was in love with me and I wasn't surprised as he first met me before Adolf. I was first friends with Rufus when we were young. He didn't confess to me on time and when he did…***"Mabel," he called out to me as we sat near the lake. That day I happened to run away from home and he was the first person I turned to he followed me to the lake, which was a place where I found peace."Yes Rufus," I answered and he moved closer to me."There's something I have been wanting to tell you for some time now," he said and my heartbeat became erratic. "What's that?" I asked, then he held my hand and looked at me int

RYAN'S POVI was dumb to trust Killian. What was I thinking? I blamed myself as I hid at one of the corners of Manor's palace. What can I do now? It all seems like Killian had this all planned to trap me and hinder me from being unable to fight back.I underestimated him, he is one hell of a smart fellow. "Where did he run to?" I heard some of the guards ask as they passed by. I made sure to hide myself properly inside the knight's armor used as decoration in the hallway. When they left I quickly went into the kitchen and met one of the kitchen maids. I quickly scribbled a letter to Maxwell and handed it over to her to help give him. I did not want to go meet him and drag the guards pursuing me to him. There's only one thing to do. If I want to defeat Killian I have to have backup, men preferably to have my back, and the only person in the same situation as I am is Jack. I have to find him.I went to the stables and successfully lost my horse and I charged at the entrance disregarding

RUFUS'S POVI didn't make it on time as Adolf had already rescued that brat and Brooke was nowhere to be found. I was at the entrance of the abandoned castle and my men scouted the area. Some of the men were killed and some escaped. That foolish Brooke, I instructed him to wait till I get here before doing anything and it seems Adolf beat me to it."What are we going to do King Rufus?" One of my men asked me but I didn't respond to his foolish question immediately as all of them are retarded. If only I could find myself more reliable and skilled men who are ready to deliver.I came down from my horse and sat down on the bench in the courtyard with my men standing watching me. "Pour me wine," I told one of them. And he did. Then I slurped in my wine while they watched me. The wine helped calm my nerves down as I was about to lose my mind to frustration. I was tired from the number of disappointments I have faced so far and all thanks to my stupid ass team."Check around and see if you

JACK'S POV"They are back Jack," Matthew informed me as he came to my chambers. I quickly got off my bed and went downstairs to meet them. I noticed two new faces coming off their horses with the king. I'll be sure to ask Sigil later."Welcome back, my king," I said bowing and he patted my shoulder. "How are you Sigil? And where's Valeria?" I asked as I looked and she didn't come off the carriage. "She's inside and currently in a mini coma," he responded. *Is she going to be okay?" I asked with concern evident in my voice. "Yes, she will," he said. Then I joined the guards in carrying Valeria to her chambers. I went back to mine after we were done. The next day Sigil happened to meet me in the garden while I was receiving some air."How was your mission?" He asked me when we both left Valeria's chambers."Renewing," I responded and he gave me a long stare. "Any issue?" I asked him. "Not really, I'm just surprised how taking the dead back home was renewing for you," he said and I let o

ADOLF'S POV"My king you are bleeding out," Sigil noticed as we entered our horses to leave. Vladimir used some herbs on me to stop the bleeding and used a cloth as a makeshift bandage. We made our way back to the palace when he was done. Our mission was a success but I sustained an injury on my neck. This journey had weakened me so much that I couldn't stay on my horse's back. I had to stay inside a carriage my men took from the abandoned palace."What about Brooke's mother?" Sigil asked me as he and Valeria were inside the carriage with me. Although, Valeria was still sound asleep as a result of the traumatic event."Seems she must have escaped, because I didn't see her," I responded."And Brooke? How did it go?""Brooke's dead, he had gone farther into the dark path that there is no bringing him back,""He chose that path," Sigil said as he readjusted Valeria's head on his lap."I'm not sure he was the one who chose it, as he may have been pushed by his mother, at first he wasn't s
