Chapter 4

Mason was taken aback. An unnoticeable bitter look flashed in his eyes. Sighing, he said, “The bouquet is for an elderly person.”

“Oh, I see… Haha. I shouldn’t pick roses for you, then.”

Eva smiled awkwardly. She quickly put down the roses in her hand and began picking other flowers.

Not long after, her bouquet was done. Mason had to leave early because he had something to attend to.

Before he left, he said, “See you another day!”

Smiling, Eva replied, “Drive safe, Mason.”

Not long after Mason left, another customer came into the shop.

It was a young man in simple exercise sportswear. He asked Eva anxiously the moment he stepped in, “Miss, do you have roses available? I need about 500.”

Eva looked over in astonishment. “I’m sorry, Mister. I don’t have that many roses right now.”

Business had been good at her shop, and it was already evening. Not many flowers were in stock, much less 500 roses.

This was not Valentine’s Day!

The young man looked a little troubled when he heard this. He said with a somber expression, “Miss, can you do anything to help me? I’m the production assistant for the shooting of “Stay with Me”.

"We have an actress who has a bath scene tonight that requires a large number of rose petals. We also need some roses on standby as props for the scene… Your floral shop is the only one around here. If you don’t have any in stock, I won’t be able to deliver… Money is no problem!”

Eva was slightly tempted when she heard this.

This was a profitable deal for her.

However, she did not have enough stock in her shop. She would require some time if she wanted to source the flowers from somewhere else.

Eva was not willing to let go of this opportunity, however, so she said, “Give me some time to confirm if I’m able to get you the flowers.”

“Yes, sure.”

The production assistant nodded.

Eva called her floral supplier immediately to inquire about fresh roses.

“I need 500 roses. If you have them in stock, please deliver them to me as soon as possible.”

The supplier had been working with Eva for many years and immediately replied after hearing this, “If you need them, I have them.”

Eva was relieved to hear that. She said to the young production assistant, “We’ve got the roses, but it'll take about an hour to get here. Will that do?”

“Yes, definitely! It'd be great if the roses could be here within two hours.”

The production assistant was beside himself as he looked at Eva gratefully.

Smiling, Eva informed the supplier to send over the flowers. After that, she collected the deposit from the production assistant and got him to give her the location for the delivery. She promised the roses would be there on time.

The production assistant kept thanking her before hurriedly leaving once he made the payment.

Eva got busy after he left.

First, she gathered all of the roses she had in her shop and began tidying them up.

It was then that Mia and Max came over respectively. They tugged at her dress. “Mommy, Mommy, can Mia and I go with you when you deliver the flowers?”

“Why do you want to go with me?”

Eva glanced at them, smiling.

Max said cutely, “I know that show the mister was talking about. There’s a celebrity called Nicole Pileggi in it. Mia and I like her a lot…”

Eva might not follow celebrity gossip, but she knew who Nicole Pileggi was.

She had the impression that Nicole was the current top actress who was known for her pure and sweet image. Nicole had many fans and was a beautiful woman.

The two kids had watched her shows on television before, and they seemed to like her a lot.

Eva did not give them an answer immediately, so Mia thought she was not willing to bring them along. Mia quickly tugged at Eva’s dress, pulling it back and forth. “Please bring me and Max along, Mommy! I want to meet Nicole. Please, Mommy…”

The little girl’s sweet voice and her cute little face looked so adorable when she was pleading. Eva’s heart melted at the sight.

She immediately gave in. “Alright, alright. I'll bring both of you along. I can never say no to you.”

The two kids jumped around excitedly. “Mommy is the best.”

About half an hour later, the supplier arrived with the roses.

Eva quickly packaged everything up and placed the flowers in the trunk of her car. After that, she drove toward the shooting location with her two children in tow.
