KERES’s POV~

I woke up slowly to a cool morning, my eyes carefully adjusting to the awareness of my surroundings. The first thing I registered was warmth, and unmistakably not mine alone. The second was the soft, even rhythm of breathing against my chest and the feel of soft strands on my bicep.

Oh right! Ember…

For a long moment, I didn’t move. I barely breathed as I simply lay there, staring down at the woman asleep in my arms as though she might vanish if I blinked too hard. Pale morning light slipped through the curtains in thin, silvery lines, tracing the gentle slope of her cheek, the soft fall of her lashes, and the faint crease between her brows that lingered even in her sleep. She looked peaceful in a way that felt almost unreal.

I let out a quiet breath, something between a laugh and a sigh. So this is how it happened… A feeling of disbelief came next, it’s heavy, and startling. It’s not because I didn’t remember the night before, but because I remembered it too well. Every

SHAWN’S POVI had just come back from my late-night run when a guard from theLuna’s house arrived. From the purple badge on his uniform, I could tell that Lady Ember wanted to see me. I stepped back from the door, regulating my breathing.“Luna Ember requests your presence.” the guard informed me plainly. There’s no respect shown, despite being of different ranks, but I couldn't care less.I dismissed the messenger and made my way toward the Luna’s office, schooling my expression into the calm respect expected of me.Inside, Lady Ember stood by the window, the night air brushing against her hair as she studied the tall trees below. She looked composed, and every inch the Luna she was growing into. It was that quiet strength that had pulled me in from the beginning. Not her title as the female Alpha or the wife of any man.“My lady, you asked for me?” I said. She turned, smiling faintly. “Yes. I need you to send a letter home”I blinked. “Home?”“Blue Crescent,” she clarified. “I want

KERES~The market was already bubbling when we walked into it, the narrow paths buzzing with voices, laughter, the clang of metal, and the warm scent of spices and fresh bread. When I heard the wolf traders calling out prices and saw the young pups darting between stalls in loud chatter, I was filled with a great feeling of contentment and joy. Normally, I barely noticed these things because, to me, the market had always been a place of trading supplies, negotiations, and inspections. But today, it felt different. Because it’s actually my first time browsing through for something, not because I was inspecting for duty's sake or walking through while they bowed in reverence for me…that way, I had not truly understood how it works.I slowed my steps unconsciously, my gaze drifting over polished trinkets, carved precious stones, silk scarves, and jewelry laid carefully on velvet cloths. Every stall I passed seemed to whisper the same question in my head.Would she like this?Dayatt walke

EMBER~I noticed there was a question in her eyes she didn’t voice so I proposed to her;“Can we talk?” I asked. “Maybe… grab a coffee downtown?”For a split second, she hesitated then she nodded once. “Alright.”She didn’t ask why and that alone told me she already suspected this wouldn’t be a casual conversation. And she had called to stop me so she seems to be expecting it.The walk out of the pack grounds felt longer than usual. The streets were coming alive now—vendors arranging stalls, the scent of baked bread lingering in the air, the pack members greeting one another as the morning settled into routine. Dayatt walked beside me, hands folded behind her back, her pace even and controlled.I, on the other hand, was a mess of thoughts. It was ironic, really. The last time we had been at that coffee shop together, I had reassured her genuinely that nothing would happen between Keres and me. At the time, I believed it badly enough that I ignored the warning signs already flickering

EMBER~By the time I returned to my quarters, the morning light had already begun to spill gently through the tall windows, bright and scorching, as though the night had never happened. I walked freely up the porch as if I hadn’t crossed a line I never imagined myself standing so close to.I closed the door quietly behind me and leaned my forehead against the cool wood for a brief moment, breathing in, breathing out, grounding myself. My body still remembered him…his warmth, the weight of his presence, and the way his arms had felt like a shelter. Yet there was no ache of regret in my chest, only a strange, tender fear, the kind that comes when something precious begins to form and you don’t know whether your hands are steady enough to hold it.I walked deeper into the room, letting my fingers trail along the familiar furniture. This place had become my refuge since arriving at this pack. It’s neutral, quiet, and safe. I scanned the room carefully…after last night, it now feels somew

KERES~The first thing that struck me wasn’t Dayatt’s presence in particular, it was her face, she looked worn out.I wonder if she had caught the flu overnight, causing her to look sick, or maybe she hadn’t gotten enough sleep. I mean, there were faint shadows beneath her eyes, her posture slightly stiff, as though she had carried her thoughts through the night instead of resting from them. For someone who usually carried herself with sharp precision and quiet confidence, the sight disturbed me.“You’re up early,” I said, my voice still rough from sleep. “What brings you here at this time?”Her lips curved faintly, but the smile didn’t quite reach her eyes. “You could at least invite me inside,” she replied. “Or have I turned into a stranger overnight?”That earned a small huff of amusement from me. I stepped aside immediately. “Come in. The place is yours”She crossed the threshold without hesitation. Only then did I realize how unprepared I looked. I was barefoot, robe loosely tie
