DANIEL
Little Josh Devin is two weeks old today. The birth of the baby seems to bring on an extra shine in Stan's home.
"You look awkward in that. " I say to Stan, half joking. He is putting on the apron Trace wears to feed the baby. My friend says nothing but grins at me. Stan, he looks out of place in all of this. He's that sort of guy who belongs to a gym room or a tattoo parlor. He's clearly not suited for daddy duties, but I do not think he cares.
Today makes it two weeks since I asked Josie to leave my home. I do not like to remember it. I can still see her face wearing that hurt look and it makes me to realize how much of a monster I am.
"You can take Daniel out of Florida but you can't get Florida out of Daniel. "It's Randy's voice i
With the fire ball still tightly and heavily wrapped in the cotton cloth, it's glow couldn't be seen. Sometimes it doesn't seem like you're gonna make it out alive in some situations, I battled between life and death."Where is the ball of fire you stole?" Alpha Silver slammed, shaking the cage with his heavy boots.Sam released a gaze at Ben, who stared blankly at Alpha Silver, understanding his question. Sam has less life in him now than he had when he lifted Cilia up the other time."I'm asking you, bastards! Where is the fireball you stole?" He chuckled, observing their mood. "If I ask that question again, I promise that one of your heads would go for an answer!" He spat, and the shock on the faces of Sam and Ben turned into grimaces of shock. He smirked, his
W"could this mean?" Ben said, lifting it from the whole."Hold on! Hold on Ben, I think there's something more in there!" Sam jerked, checking the hole with his hands. He couldn't see why it clearly while it was in there, and he had to expand the hole some more."Wow! Come check it out Ben, it's a glass container with a lid."Yeah, go ahead, let's open it!"Ben leaned forward with a quick yell. Sam turned with a puzzled expression. Ben was about to open the container, but he wasn't sure why. After a couple of seconds, his eyes widened as he stared down at the crystal glass container. There was a single yellowish light inside of it. It was an almost steady orange glow. As Sam looked at the container
"Get the fuck out of my way you jerk! Do not bother explaining anything to me, I don't give a fuck about you anymore..! I hate you!!!""It's not what you think Cilia, I was caged!""And what's my fucking business if you were caged? Like I said, I don't give a fuck about you anymore! Get lost and burn in hell for all I care!" I spat. I was even surprised I could utter a word, for there was not even a single strength left in me."I couldn't have left you to suffer like that, Cilia; I was lucked up in a cage, using a magical spell from a witch. I looked for a way to come to your aid, but couldn't find any. But that doesn't matter anymore, I'm here now.""So you expect me to believe such crap?! And who cares if yo
I opened my eyes to vernal sunlight, filtered through the dead leaves. The grassy field was just a few feets away from the riverbank. The sun was warm on my face and the insects hummed around me. With a yawn, I looked up and saw small fluffy clouds of dust dancing across the sky. And then I realized that I was not dreaming, that I was really, truly alive. I woke up to a beautiful sun setting on a blue starry sky. And with a gasp, I saw that I was naked when I looked down to my thighs. Screaming to grab my clothes, I realized that I had been tied to a tree. For a moment I stood in total shock. Then panic began to set in as I struggled to get untied.Realizing I was alone, and that no one would hear me through the dense forest of tall dead trees, I turned around and frantically scanned the landscape for someone, anyone who could help. I turned to the west and for the next several minutes, as I
"What's the matter Cilia?" Melinda came in from the kitchen, with a stream of oatcake on a piece of toast. You could never have too much oat cake. I love eating them.I flinched as I replied, "oh, nothing!""You sure...?""Y-yeah, y-yes yes, I'm okay!""Cilia... You're stuttering""Huh? Stu-, um, am I..? I'm not Melinda, I'm fine.""Hmmmm okay. But I heard you talking to someone, who was that?""Of course not! I'm not. I mean, I wasn't talking to anyone. I was just talking to myself."
Within a matter of days, something had happened. Something more than just a simple rebound. Something to create a whole new level of self awareness. As luck would have it, my life had been conditioned over time to expect such events. Of course, I never asked myself if it was really a gift from God, but I was grateful for it, nonetheless. But it didn't mean I wasn't still feeling the effects, but one thing was certain, that it would pass, and not get any worse.I opened my eyes to a new day, and to the beauty of the world. Everything was still, quiet, and warm. Perfectly still, with just the tiniest hint of summer breeze. As I glanced up, I had a near panic attack. Immediately, I closed them back again as the effect of the sun rays pierced my eyes through the window. Slowly, I opened them again to see a totally different environment. Everything looked completely different. Confused as I
