(Patricia’s POV)

"There you are, sweetheart," Mrs. Salvador called sharply the moment I stepped out of the car.

A genuine smile spread across my face as I walked toward her. It was the weekend, and we had planned to meet at the mall today.

"Hello, Mrs…" I started politely, but she didn’t let me finish. She pulled me into her arms, hugging me tightly.

I froze for a second before my hand finally rested on her back. I’d had a mother-in-law before, but she had never smiled at me this sweetly or hugged me like this.

"I'm glad you made it," Mrs. Salvador muttered.

I smiled softly, feeling my heart melt. She had always been kind to me from the very first day we met. And today, she had invited me to shop with her. How could I ever miss it?

"Come," she said softly, her face glowing with excitement. "Let’s go in."

Her hand slipped gently into mine, holding me firmly as we walked into the mall. My heart pounded heavily. It was my first time shopping with a mother-in-law, and I was nervous.
