Chapter 58.

Mia POV.

Turning to face him, the tears leave my eyes as I take a gasp of breath. I choke on my sob. How can I leave now? He promised he would always find me, that he would chase me to the ends of the earth, and he did.

“Fen?” I throw myself into his arms as I cry. Some of my memories have returned, and I was so sure I would leave, but right now I’m not so sure. Being in his arms feels like home. A home I will always crave.

“I’ve got you.” He kisses my head as he tightens his hold on me. He just holds me as I cry out my sadness and relief. We tried to kill him. I go stiff when I remember what I did. I move out of his hold and wipe my eyes. I can’t stay with him. I need to find my own path. I need answers.

“Mia? What’s wrong?” he turns to look at me when the car dips as Theo enters the back seat.

I turn to look at him; he has tears in his eyes. Theo reaches for me and I reach for him. He holds my hand as the tingles travel up my arm, causing Chaos to purr in my head at the contact.
